Being on a mountain, free yukata usage, onsens, and the coffee and tea offerings with the desk views were great!
The onsen had feminine pads stuck to the bottom of the tiles, the hike up the mountain, and they gave me “gaijin” onsen operating hours.

•部屋∶無駄な物がなく、何かに没頭するには最高の環境でした。一晩かけて本を読み切ることができました。
•設備∶フロントや廊下にくつろげるスペースが無数にありました。読書や作業したい方には飽きない設備内容かと思います。
•立地∶分かっていましたが、最寄りのバス停からは急な坂を移動する必要があり、中々大変でした。山歩きや散歩が好きな方には楽しめると思います。

Modern, artsy, clean. Rooms are big and have big TV sets. Huge bean bags are super great.
Poor service - rooms not ready even when I checked in at almost 5 pm. Staff did not prepare our futon beds for our night sleep. Signs for drivers to the ryokan were poor. Roads to the ryokan were very steep, narrow, and very poorly lit, Absolutely no way you can reach the ryokan if you don't drive, and when you have huge luggage.
