Pension Ageliki Kalogera

Because of a delayed arrival I only arrived in Mykonos at 9pm. Ageliki met me at the ferry and took me to the rooms. She took me back to the ferry on departure day. As an old lady of 77 years I was so grateful. I thought the room was in an excellent location, near Taxi Square and the seafront, 5 minutes to the Delos ferry. It was spotless, had everything I needed including a bigger bathroom than some.

The accomodation is a block or two behind the old port harbour. (Look for the statue bust of Manto Mavrogenous If coming in by ferry from the "new" port it is certainly worth catching the ferry bus, (€2.50) to the FINAL stop - "Mykonos Town." (NOT the penultimate stop - "Old Port Bus Station" unless you are on that side of the old port.) We had a good sized room with twin beds, (as requested,) and a compact bathroon. Equipment included TV and fridge. The AC was strong, as was the wi-fi and the shower pressure. The double glazed windows, when closed, kept out most of the noise*. I also swung the outer hall door shut to limit ambient nightime foot traffic. Good points - 2 pillows per bed and a wall mount for the shower head and a proper shower screen. (Generally not standard for Greece.) A kettle, with coffee, breakfast rusks, butter and spreads plus complimentary water. A bug screen on the window ! A decent iron with mini ironing board. Agelika is a most enthusiastic host and undoubtedly the most beautiful Greek woman I had the good fortune to meet during my 2 1/2 weeks in The Cyclades ! 😘

Not so good - As is fairly common in "old lane" accomodation, the exterior steps are extremely steep, as most rooms sit above shops and boutiques. Next to the entrance is a small balcony seating area. This was DIRECTLY outside our window. Each day, guests sat with snacks, drinks and cigarettes while my wife and I snoozed naked on our beds through the large open window ! The modesty curtain swayed in the breeze. (Do request room #2 if you like an audience.) 😜

Easily accessible from the square. Good location, ideal for a few nights if you have a late flight and going off to another island etc, its a good choice.

We have stayed before for 1 night for onward travel...its right in one of the main streets with shops, so can be a bit noisy, and steps a bit steep to get to the room

We only stayed one night as we were getting the ferry the next day. Our taxi did not drop us at the easiest location but the owner called me on our arrival, met us and took us to the property. She was very kind and helpful in advising where to get the water taxi the next day and places to eat. The room had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable with a nice outside space, we would have been happy to stay here had we been remaining in Mykonos.
