    My family of 4 visited Moon Palace Jamaica from May 2–4 to celebrate my son’s birthday. Overall, we had a really enjoyable stay and created lots of great memories. Upon arrival, our names were not initially on the gate list for check-in, but the issue was resolved fairly quickly. Once we got onto the property, we were welcomed with cold towels to freshen up, which was a nice touch and much appreciated after a long drive. We arrived a little after 10 AM because we wanted to maximize our short 2-day stay, and thankfully we were able to catch breakfast before check-in. Check-in itself was smooth and pleasant thanks to Sameera at the front desk. She was informative, professional, and provided excellent customer service from start to finish. We were also grateful to receive our room early around 1 PM, which allowed us to quickly change into our swimwear and start enjoying the resort immediately. For breakfast, I did notice the food selection felt a bit limited. We skipped the buffet lunch & dinner and instead tried the specialty restaurants, jerk hut and snack bar, which we enjoyed. The kids absolutely loved the pool, beach, kids club, and the games room. My son especially became obsessed with the kids club and didn’t want to leave. One of the highlights of our trip was the Teppanyaki restaurant. Big up to Ingrid, our chef, who was patient, entertaining, and really involved the kids throughout the experience. She made dinner extra special for us. The room itself was comfortable and everything worked properly. No complaints there. The fridge was stocked daily, which we appreciated. Upon checkout, our bellman Ackeem was extremely responsive and helpful. I requested assistance through the app and honestly didn’t expect him to arrive almost immediately. He was patient and professional throughout. Speaking of the app, that was definitely a plus. It was very user-friendly and made the stay more convenient. We used it for room service twice, plate pickup, amenity requests, and dinner reservations with no issues at all. As for the staff overall, they were okay — nothing negative, but nothing particularly memorable either. I’ve stayed at other resorts where staff constantly greet you, check in on you, or offer drinks and assistance while you’re relaxing on the beach or walking around. Here, many staff members mostly passed by and kept about their business. It felt more like they were simply doing their jobs rather than creating a standout hospitality experience. That being said, this is definitely a lively family resort. Since kids under 17 stay free, there were lots of families around and plenty for children to do. I also brought my little sister along and she made lots of friends during the trip. The entertainment team did a really good job, and I especially loved that most of the entertainment was indoors, so bad weather didn’t interfere with the activities. Overall, we had a fun and memorable stay and would recommend it for families looking for a kid-friendly getaway.

    The hotel was clean and had one of the best kids clubs! We were really impressed with the beach and how easy it was to book restaurants through the hotel app. The staff are energetic and very kind. It’s a great hotel and hopefully we will be back in the future.

    Check in was 3 hours. Only 3 people at the check in desk with hundreds of people waiting on line. Food was subpar. Not too much good variety. I recommend RIU
