Very beautiful and kind environment, great service!

The staff was amazing!! So kind, helpful and service minded. The pool area and garden were so beautiful and peaceful. The food was very good quality, and you get room service for every meal without an additional cost!

As with anywhere in Bali, there were a lot of insects, so bring bug spray and keep your food away from the ants. There were a lot of noises around since the neighbors had roosters, dogs and children making a lot of noise just behind the fence.

Relaxing, authentic, friendly, comfortable and pampering 🙏

This little gem is a must see when in Bali. It’s incredibly close to the zoo and reptile/bird park. It’s got two or three jewellery making classes walking distance from it. The rooms are spacious, the facilities are very nice and the common areas are very well maintained. The pool is large and the garden is amazing. The surrounding views are beautiful . The meals are authentic and delicious. And of course the staff are just amazing - you feel like you are on your own and have total privacy while it only takes a minute for the staff to get anything you need.

Authentic tranquil experience

Such an amazing property out of the hustle and bustle with an authentic tranquil vibe. Idyllic views when you first wake up and a nice pool area to relax which is situated in the sun so always a nice temperature! The staff were also super friendly and there to accommodate all needs. The food options were also of high quality and very fresh ingredients, with loads of international options to suit children as well as authentic local dishes. Will definitely return next time we are in Ubud!

Mandala Desa, a pearl of Bali

If paradise exists, then it is at Mandala Desa. Jan and his home are authentic, and fortunately, we didn’t encounter the Bali of mass tourism here. Instead, we stayed in a traditional house reminiscent of the colonial period (no offense to the Indonesians), overlooking a wild and beautiful natural landscape. Jan is an exceptional host, and his staff will pamper you every moment, making you feel both a guest and a local at the same time. The true luxury here, beyond the meticulous attention to guests, is the sincerity of the place and the people. Nestled in a small rural village, Mandala Desa is an eastern gem I will never forget. Perfect

Found this place completely by accident and I wish we had more time to spend there. Everything was perfect. Even though location is further from bigger cities, there were still lots of activities around. It was really quiet and relaxing. The view of rice fields and mountains from the pool and villa was spectacular. Delicious homemade food. We stayed with toddler, they even served breakfast for him. Bed was comfortable, AC and Wifi worked fine. Staff was superb. Good communication with all team.

Absolute bliss!!! A true experience.

We loved everything! The accommodation, grounds, staff, food, everything. Such a beautiful peaceful space. We spent 4 nights wth our two daughters aged 4 & 6 and they had a great time swimming, walking the grounds and feeding the horses, feeding the fish, eating dinner outside and just relaxing in the room. It is very close to Bali Zoo and a quick grab to the butterfly park in Sukawati, the staff even drove us to the zoo. The Indonesian food and home made bread were highlights. Highly recommend and we would stay again! Oh yes and the VIEW, even from the outdoor shower is beautiful.

NaLa the dog was gorgeous. The setting is so peaceful and quiet. Owners were super helpful and amenable with great local knowledge. Staff were awesome and very kind. Thoroughly recommended.

Wonderful find, disappointed that we only stayed one night. Perfect place to stay whilst visiting the nearby zoos. Very relaxing, great pool and beautiful views out over the rice paddies. Super friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Serenity at the rice fields

Directly located at beautifull rice terraces this place is definitely recommendable! The staff is great and caring, the surroundings are quiet although is it not to remote from interesting places. Great also for a trip to Ubud or some of the temples or waterfalls.

Peaceful, tranquil & rejuvenating

After a long journey, arriving at Mandala Desa was so rejuvenating. We were greeted warmly with refreshing hibiscus tea and balinese snacks. Our villa was beautifully decorated, light, spacious and comfortable. What we loved the most was looking out onto the rice fields and hearing all the sounds of nature around us. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. We had a delicious home cooked evening meal and breakfast the next morning. We only stayed for one night but I would have liked to move in! We especially loved hearing about the passion projects from the owner and how Mandala Desa works with the local community. Next time we are in Bali we will be sure to visit again. Thank you so much

Must-stay near the Zoo

Our family stayed at this hotel for one night in March 2022, and it turned out we were the first tourists in two years. Jan, the owner, provided us with a villa even though we had booked a room. The villa was fantastic. Jan and the rest of the staff are very welcoming. A must-visit! Especially if you want to go to the zoo early in the morning!

The warm welcome from the staff was amazing. They kept worrying about every detail and want to make sure you feel comfortable. The house itself is very nice and authentic, great pool, amazing view on rice terraces. They have good bicycle and shuttle to and from Ubud. The food menu is also very rich offering many different choices including Balenise and Western kitchen. They also provide a lot of different tours and activities, however we didn't use any as we had our own plan.

The staff was "too much". Some people might like it, but me and my wife had a feeling that they are always present. Room atmosphere felt old. Old furniture, old bed. Maybe it's ok for tradinitonal stay, but we didn't like it. The room was a bit dirty. Bath tub and toilet had stains. It was uncomfortable for us. The mosquito net was more of a cotton sheet than net and made us feel claustrophobic.

Es war sehr erholsam und sehr ruhig. Es ist ein sehr kleines Hotel. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und groß. Man kann Frühstück und auch Abends auf der Terrasse essen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker.

L'accueil, la gentillesse du personnel et du propriétaire. Un cadre baigné dans la nature, une décoration authentique et soignée, un repos bien mérité dans la jolie piscine, l' attention du tea time, et une très bonne cuisine locale servie avec le sourire sur notre terrasse. Heerlijke afsluiting vakantie

Het hotel was een paradijsje. De foto's doen wat dat betreft geen recht aan hoe het er echt uit ziet. Daarnaast was de informatievoorziening over alles wat er in de omgeving te doen was en dat alles via Jan en zijn personeel geregeld kon worden, heel fijn.

Winkels en restaurants zitten net wat verder, dus echt wel min 20 min loopafstand.

バードパークに行きたかったので泊まりましたが、それがなくても本当に素敵な場所でした。素敵なプール、田園風景、バスタブ、午後のおやつなど小さい子供と楽しめました。周りにあまりレストランがないですが、宿で夕食も提供していて毎日利用しました。Grabで15分くらい行けばバードパークや大きいスーパーもありお土産なども購入できました。交通の手配や洗濯、マッサージなどもお得に頼むことができます。オーナーはフレンドリーで、スタッフもみなさん親切でした。バリに来るときはまたぜひ利用したいです！！
