Vitalija on the front desk was sensational, apart from being pleasant she was extremely helpful with everything we needed. We arrived early and were graciously welcomed. And she even disposed of a broken suitcase after we replaced it. Thank you for making our stay excellent. Highly recommend Moon Garden.

It's an excellent place for the money, excellent. The desk closes at 8pm, but in fact I didn't have any need for it afterwards. It's across the street from a really good restaurant, much better than you would find easily in town, so if you're hungry when you arrive, you're well off. This is one of the nicest hotels in a smallish town I've ever stayed in, and I recommend to you. Once you go through the old gate, a matter of some religion, it's a magnificent place to visit, with some superb restaurants hiding away.

Excellent location (within a walking distance from all the attractions and only 10 mins drive from the airport), friendly and accommodating staff, delicious breakfast, comfortable bed and excellent quality of sleep.

The staff and location

The air conditioning was not working at all, and when I checked the unit, the filter was completely saturated with dust. This means we were basically breathing dust throughout the stay, which is unacceptable for guest health. Maintenance and proper cleaning should be a priority.

The hotel is located very conveniently, just a short walk from the Gate of Dawn and at the same time not far from the bus and railway station. Breakfast was excellent, with a decent selection and eggs cooked exactly the way you prefer. I would particularly like to thank Justė, who was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It was also a big help that the hotel let us keep our bags after check-out, as our bus was rescheduled for much later in the evening.

It would be great to have sockets next to each bed.

The location is unbeatable. The terrace is amazing!

The beds were not comfortable (too hard) and there were some issues with appliances not working that were not properly addressed (e.g., the coffee machine in the room didn’t work and was not replaced, the A/C system didn’t work but there was a standup fan, our room wasn’t “in the system” so it was not cleaned when we requested it).

Beautiful old building in Old Town. Good to have the honesty bar in reception.

Room was shabby. Carpets smelled, bed was saggy. Staff were a bit aloof and distant.

It was a lovely and cozy place. The location was great!

There were no outlets next to the beds and the lamps that run on battery were out of battery, we didn’t have the kind of charger needed, so we couldn’t use the little lamps.

We thought the reception staff were exceptional. They were friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to help. The location was perfect for access to The Old Town, bus stop, train station and airport. There was a calm atmosphere in reception and our room, in the rear on floor 3 was extremely quiet. A great choice.

Rooms were serviced only between 1300 and 1700 which we found a little inconvenient after being out all morning in The Old Town. It is nice to return to a made up room.

Not much, room needs a ful length mirror. We didn't choose breakfast because we needed more plantbased options.

Nice spacious room right at the wall of the old town near the entrance gate . Good breakfast . Lovely polite and helpful staff .

Liked everything

The hotel ist very comfortable to reach from both the central train station and the central bus station. It is located at the Southern end of the Old Town (100 meters from the Gate of Dawn) and about 200 meters from Halės Turgus (a market where you can get local food and products). The room was decently cleaned and equipped with the interior and amenities as described. The air conditioning and the refrigerator were working properly. There is enough storage space. The breakfast costs 15 euros and is fine, nothing spectacular but with a good variety and fresh egg dishes (scrambled eggs, omelette, fried eggs) are served upon request. The staff is very, very friendly and always happy to help! The hotel offers detailed information on local attractions, good restaurants and more which makes you feel welcomed and cared about.

The refrigerator was a bit nosy sometimes.

I really liked the breakfast, size of my room and staff of the hotel Everything was informative and easy before arriving and during check-in. Location was near the old town and it´s easy to walk around. The room I was in, would be good for small family even. It had small kitchen there and sofa bed as well. Breakfast had many choices and good coffee.

If I read some of the reviews before, where somebody told about elevator sounds, I was thinking it´s not so big of a deal. But it seems I got the same room near the elevator and it is. Also all the sounds from the street came in and I couldn´t sleep very good, because the fridge was noisy and light came in. Room had weird curtains, that didn´t block the light from outside. Bed was so hard and uncomfortable. I usually like hard beds, but this was too much. I usually sleep well at the hotels, but not this time :(

We stayed for 3 nights. No cleaning in the room after first night and very late on second day - due to personnel shortage and errors. Elevator next to our room was very noisy.

Only positive point is the location and that you have history al Wall inside the hotel.

Room with broken light, one heating not working (fixed by receptionist on second night) Shower spill all the water because the steepness of the floor is inverted. I had lot of 4star breakfast and that was the Worst breakfast and service ever. No sweets like croissant, cake. It claim to Have Irish/english breakfast but there was no bacon on self service but only with ordered eggs and asked for 2 more piece of bacon who never arrived. Eggs all the 2 day where undercooked. No beans, no potato, no tomato... So do not expect English breakfast. No juice choice at all only one pre filled glass with a juice of their choice. Do Not expect a cappuccino... I even asked to the waiter for (who does Not understand English) for just warm milk and I was told NO there is only cold milk on the breakfast area. By the way the machine has instruction on the front on how to add a bottle of milk on the side to do cappuccino or milk beverages.... Maybe because in English they do not understand it. If you are intollerante or vegetarian or Only celiac forget it. Of corse no choice of milks (oat etc..) Worst: my wife was served a cold and pre-made order of another guest. We arrived at breakfast, we sit down, waiter comes out with ready scrumbled eggs for another client who said no and went away, on way back waiter ask us the order of eggs and my wife Order scrumled eggs.. She serve her the plate In Her hands. 😮 I strongly suggest to take your breakfast to the near market (hales turgus) that is real english/Irish and much cheaper also. If you have a baby with trolley forget it... You have to do some stair in any way. If you have a wheelchair please choose another hotel. No one smile to you or know good English except the reception girl.

Only one good thing about this is that hotel is in city centre

Dirty, and I think it’s time for renovation

The staff were very pleasant - the issues I had with my stay was not their fault. The breakfast (when I managed to have it!) was good too, just what I needed. The room itself was comfortable and had everything that I needed as well - I liked that there was a kettle for tea and coffee and the bathroom was clean.

If you are not a heavy sleeper, you might want to think twice about staying here. I was unfortunate in getting a room very close to the front door. For people to enter the property after a certain time you need to enter a key code and from my room I could here the beeping of the door code and the slamming of the door every time someone entered. On one night I slept fine, the other night there was a big group of men (maybe a stag party?) who were going in and out of their rooms and the hotel constantly. This night I was up until 4am, and I had to go down to the front desk twice to ask if they could do anything about the noise (the doors banging, the shouting and running through hallways). The second time I was pleading for a quieter room, when the front staff finally went to ask the group to go to sleep (this was 3.30 am). It was all very stressful, and I ended up missing breakfast.

The only great thing about the hotel was It's location

Upon arrival, I found the room to be smaller than anticipated and significantly divergent from the online representations. It appears the images provided may not accurately reflect the current state of the accommodations, possibly reflecting an outdated portrayal. The persistently loud noise emitted by the refrigerator and subpar shower facilities detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, the quality of other furnishings within the room left much to be desired. Compounding these issues, the inoperable elevator further hindered accessibility. In summary, while suitable for a brief overnight stay when limited alternatives exist, the establishment falls short of expectations for a more extended or leisurely visit. Prospective guests seeking a comfortable and enjoyable holiday experience may find more suitable options elsewhere.
