The Hotel Nauro Centro is a lovely old hotel that is located perfectly to explore Oaxaca City. All our favorite restaurants, cafes, markets and museums were within easy walking distance, and the lively zocalo is just down the street, which is wonderful for going to hear live music at night. Every morning, we had delicious coffee and a light breakfast in the cafe at the hotel. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Our room, a king suite, was spacious and comfortable.
We liked everything.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Boutique Naura Centro. It is centrally located and in walking distance to the zocalo and other attractions. Our room was located just outside the sunny outdoor terrace. It was nice to have a coffee bar downstairs which served delicious drinks and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Norma, our room attendant kept our room spotless.
The wardrobe in our room could use a light. I suggest a battery operated motion light.

The location in the Centro is great! Our room was spacious and always clean. The on site restaurant is excellent and affordable. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
The bed was too firm for my liking, but bearable using my air mattress. The noise from the courtyard late at night (after 11 pm) was sometimes annoying when trying to sleep.

The hotel is in a nice colonial building and the staff are very friendly. They gave us a different room without any problems as we were not able to sleep facing the street.
If you stay in a room facing the street you will think the traffic is running right through your bed very early in the morning.

Clean and comfortable and great location.
The room window was sealed shut so no fresh air

Absolutely perfect location, close to everything but still really quiet. Room was lovely, really big and comfortable, and it was a really pleasant surprise to have a window, which we weren’t expecting! The hotel is really beautiful, pictures don’t do it justice
It would have been good to have a safe in the room, and a mini fridge for cold water. Everything else is pretty much perfect!

We loved our room. It had a large window onto the street but there were no noise problems. It was beautifully decorated and had the first coffee making we’d experienced in Mexico as well as a complimentary cocktail in the bar. The shower was wonderful, hot and powerful. It had both fan and air conditioning. The whole building was impressive and attractive in the usual colonial style
Nothing.

The hotel was a beautiful building. We were a group of 5 and had ample seating spaces we could use; for example we ate our Christmas Eve dinner, with foods from the local markets, at the pool side. Very memorable!
I would stay at Hotel Naura again.

So what I liked is there flexibility in that I needed to upgrade to a suite and they were able to accommodate that. I also liked that they were there to answer any questions or be helpful in any way they could but not overly in your business.
I think that having some sort of information on what’s going on in the town Square each day would be really helpful TOUCH that wouldn’t really require them any more money to produce. Half the time front desk staff are just chitchatting they could have an initiative where during the downtime the front desk is collecting information on any festivals or what time parades are gonna start there was so much going on and they didn’t tell us anything. It could be cultural, but I know where I’m from. They really leverage their local contacts in promoting one another. In other words I felt a bit isolated even though I was in the centre of everything.

Location is near the main tourist center with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Especially if you have limited time in town. Hotel is quaint and beautifully decorated.
The rooms are a bit small. The pool is not heated and getting pool towels was more difficult than it should have been.

Great location and cute hotel with history
The room was very spacious but not a nice view. The room interiors was a bit dated, not in a nice legacy way though.

The property was gorgeous. Beautifully restored historic building.
Loved the property, should note that is very close to a discoteca that plays loud music. It didn’t bother me, but might be nice to let others know.

My family and I loved out stay at Naura Centro. The staff was friendly, professional, and always happy to help—they answered every question with patience and kindness. Check-in was quick and smooth, and they got us into our rooms right away. The hotel was spotless, and housekeeping was incredibly attentive. Every night after a long day of exploring Oaxaca, we returned to a room that felt completely refreshed, with clean towels and fresh drinking water waiting for us.
The location was absolutely prime—walking distance to the Zócalo, Santo Domingo, and Mercado 20 de Noviembre. The hotel sits right in the heart of the city, in a very safe and convenient neighborhood.
The décor was beautiful, and all the plants throughout the property gave it a calming, natural touch. They also have a pool and a lovely patio on the third floor, perfect for relaxing.
I personally loved the coffee shop connected to the hotel—they make amazing lattes and the best hot chocolate. We also enjoyed the hotel restaurant and bar; everything we tried was delicious. They even offer two courtesy drinks per room upon arrival or to redeem during your stay. The front desk helped us book our tour guide and arranged our airport pick-up and drop-off, which made everything so easy.
My whole family loved the hotel, and the architecture and décor had a unique colonial charm. We truly enjoyed our stay, and we would absolutely come back again and recommend Naura Centro to our family and friends. Thank you, Hotel Naura—your team was fantastic!”
The only thing to note is that the hotel doesn’t have an elevator, but the staff was wonderful and helped us with our bags during check-in and check-out. They came directly to our room to pick up our luggage and brought it down to the lobby for us. If anyone has knee problems i suggest you request a room on the main floor. Otherwise you will be fine.

Everything was excellent: beautiful unique building, stunning terrace , nice on-location bar, varied breakfast menu, exceptionally helpful staff (English somewhat limited). The terrace was so beautiful people from the street were walking in to take photographs.
The suite room was extremely spacious and the bed very comfortable. There was a generous supply of 4 Nespresso coffee pods per day.
The hotel is run with immaculate attention to detail and the room was cleaned very thoroughly each day
Due to lactose-intolerance we couldn't eat breakfast - even the breakfast toast bread had milk which the staff wasn't aware of. Lucky we asked to ensure and read the package.
Most dinner options had milk, even the mole sauce.
A few accessories which are common per hotel standard were missing: a cup/other toothbrush holder, a soap dish and especially a tiny safety LED light to see the bathroom at night, particularly important since there was a step up.

I loved the location, it was close to all the activities. The staff were wonderful!
I didn’t like not having an elevator, but it was only a 3 story colonial hotel, so it was to be expected. I would’ve like a small safe, microwave and small region the room, though I don’t know if that’s common in Mexican hotels

Everything went well. This was the best location in Oaxaca, the Hotel was a beautiful colonial house and the room was spotlessly clean and very big decorated with lovely furniture. Bed was very comfortable. My stay made me feel relaxed and safe. Special thanks to Mefi, and congratulations for having the best hotel in Oaxaca.
After having a margarita by the pool I was asked my room number and I went up to my room, when they called to say that I have to come down and pay for my drink. This was a bit awkward for the fact that I was staying at the hotel, even if the restaurant would be a separate enterprise.

Nothing! Everything was exceptional.

The location is great, very close to the city center. The personal is friendly and ready to help. The patio is traditional, I liked that very much.
The main issue was that the hotel was working on rennovation and it was very noisy. We wanted to relax and rest also but it was impossible with the noise of the work. If I were aware of this I would have not booked the hotel. It seems that it happened also last year in summer (from other reviews). Therefore, I would not recommend it.

The boutique hotel its very nice. Overall staff were very nice, food at the restaurant is good too. And the location is perfect, I would recommend it, just make sure to get a nice room from the beginning.
I put poor room value and size because I reserved 3 exact rooms and pay the same price for each one. My friend get a nice room, big enough and I was given a super small room which was the last room on a corner, the room has a sewage smells that kept me awake all night. There were no shampoo or soap at our room. I asked for other room and they move me next day. The thing is that why they do that? To give you a room that don’t match what you reserved.

A beautiful old building that labels its rooms as balcony rooms despite there being no access to the balcony as they are covered by a glass screen.
The fact that I paid for a balcony room which didn’t have access to a balcony. The TV in the room also didn’t work.

The hotel is in a beautifully restored building. The art and decor are fantastic. Comfortable beds, plentiful hot water. The retractable roof on the inner courtyard is perfect for keeping out sun or rain when needed. Café Petrona makes delicious sandwiches (Ciabatas) if you want a change from moles. The location is unbeatable--right across from the Centro Cultural San Pablo, within 2 minutes walking to the Zocalo, and < 10 minutes to Templo Santo Domingo and all the great restaurants along Reforma. Taxis are easy to get at the plaza. The neighborhood feels very safe and secure.
There was nothing we did not like. But it is good to be aware that the rooms are quite variable in size and amenities, as is to be expected from a restored central-courtyard house. Rooms along the outside walls have sealed, noise-proof windows. Some of the rooms along the inner courtyard may receive some noise from the central courtyard. But the hotel is in general very quiet, with no noise disturbance after hours.

Our room was spacious. Bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Restaurant and coffee shop in hotel was very good. Hotel also has a swimming pool and small spa. Had two or three massages while there. Location was wonderful. Two blocks to the main square where there were plenty of good restaurants and shops. Market nearby as well.

The room was very clean, with a good en suite bathroom. Towels, linens etc were good quality and very clean. The location was excellent, right in the centre of the old town so we could walk everywhere.
The room was a tad small and lacking space to put our cases.

We loved our stay! The hotel was very charming, well-appointed, and advantageously located. From the comfortable rooms, showers with plenty of hot water, relaxing pool area, to the hearty breakfasts and on-site cafe. Good service throughout too. We appreciated getting filtered water whenever we needed it, and the comped welcome drink too! Staff were wonderful!

Great location near the main square. Modern design. Comfortable room.
Staff was friendly but not overly helpful. Restaurant was usually empty—we didn’t try it. Pool was very small—our first night, people were eating in the pool. Not sanitary.

At the arrival, they gave ne a room with no windows at all (for the price they charge this should not be a possibility). I paid 50% more for a confortable room to noisy for sleeping well and hot water did not work in two of the three mornings I was there

Location was great and staff was kind & helpful. Room was very spacious & had everything necessary. Pool area albeit small was very nice & relaxing after exploring the city. Beautiful property.
There were some renovations going on & sometimes that noise was a little bothersome & the pool was closed for the beginning of the stay but just minor things compared to the benefits of what was offered.

Quite. Comfortable. Great staff.

Close to the action in the Centro area.
No elevator so going up and down the stairs was tiring. Also the TV didn’t work so well in our room. Pool was ok but not lit at night.
