Large breakfast, very friendly staff, secure bike shed. Overall good quality facilities, including kitchen, showers, toilet etc and great location.

Barely any ventilation in the room. We had 8 men sleeping in the same room, all sweaty and smelly. We could only open one of the windows 10cm or so.

Convenient location. Wonderful views. Relaxed atmosphere. Much more homely than a modern budget hotel.

The windows in our room had been restricted so there was limited ventilation. Check in at 5pm is a little late.

Booked the day before as we wanted to extend our current stay in the area. Looking for somewhere not too expensive, walking distance to the beach and a safe area with parking, this ticked all the boxes

Magic !! Lovely old building ,modern super clean inside fit out, beautiful garden setting and friendly helpful staff. Plenty of free parking on site. Great location with views and close to town. 10 out 10, Great YHA stay I'll be back !! Brett from Australia

The staff are very nice and helpful and they try to mitigate the check in and out time by allowing you leave your bags. Good variety breakfast, and good for hungry people.

The metal bunk beds. The frame edge of the upper bed needs to be protected to prevent adults hitting their heads. This could be done with a covering of either fabric or plastic, anything able to at least soften the impact on a person's head. This will definitely put me off booking again as all rooms have this type of bed. The check in time is at 5pm, and the check out time is 10am. The rooms need to be cleaned but these time are too severe.

some signs asking guests to keep their noise down at night would help remind guests that they are not the only people there and some may be sleeping after 10pm

A really beautiful old house in an interesting area.

It was a great location to the beach and the south west coast path, which was the purpose of our trip. The shower pressure was good.

We had a private room, it was advertised as a double and a single, it did not say it was bunk beds, this wasn't a problem, but it should be clear at point of booking. It was £110 per night, enough to rival hotels (in fact this was the most expensive night of our trip), however towels were not provided, or shower gel. Check in was really late and when we arrived early, we weren't even permitted to use the communal toilet after travelling a couple of hours - this has never happened before. I think for a basic hostel dorm the facilities are good, but when you are commanding so much money for a private room, things need to be stepped up. It was a bad night's sleep with fire doors banging all night, I know this comes down to individuals staying but there we no staff on duty offering reminders to be considerate to other guests.

Checking in was very easy. The room was clean and adequate for our needs on the stay.

For the price of the room it was disappointing that no tea/coffee making facilities were available and that any drinks had to be purchased.
