Wouldn’t stay again

Good location right next to train station. Bed was comfy.

Rude receptionist. Said water and drinks available in reception but was not filled up. No staff at night. My card didn’t work and only reason I was able to get in was because I knew the code. Still waiting on a refund from hotel. They didn’t answer phone to booking.com. Just didn’t feel very safe.

Fantastic! Scenic alps and town, beautiful architecture, clean, safe and not so touristy.

We arrived in St. Gallen by train from Zurich Airport, and the hotel was 2 mins across the road from the train station - easy walk and to pull luggage. We stayed 3 wonderful nights. The hotel was an easy 10 - 15mins walk from the old town. Beautiful city to visit with lots of beautiful architecture and surrounding alps that seemed just in our backyard. Loved the UNESCO Cathedral, the textile museum, loved the walk up the bell tower of St Lawrence Church with a fantastic view, loved the funicular ride and then walk up to the lake in the alps walking alongside the paddocks where the cows with their bells grazed. Very clean town - felt very safe. Used the free visitor tickets from the hotel to ride the train to see the countryside on our last afternoon. Very spacious, clean, comfortable rooms well-appointed with a view, welcoming and helpful staff, great atmosphere, lift to rooms, amazing breakfast (anything you could wish for). The in-house sports bar has great food reasonably priced.

Nothing - would like to visit the town again and stay in the same hotel - Metropol Hotel.

Short stay but very good

Very good location if you are traveling on Swiss rail. When you walk out of the rail terminal, the hotel is right across the street. Maybe 100 foot walk. My wife and I arrived 3 hours early, but the nice gentleman at the desk, held our bags for us and then had them put in our room after it was ready to be occupied. Good room, all fixtures in good condition. Nice and friendly employees. Good breakfast with a view of the main street and terminal area. City transportation is immediately outside the main door. The hotel has numerous restaurants in the area as well as one in the hotel. We were only there for two days so we did not have a chance to check it out. . The city as a Free visitor card for all of you public transportation so you can even go to Lake Constance for free if you want and still tour the city of St.Gallin.

Hotel is just 100m from train station. Lift service is provided in the hotel. Room is comfortable and clean. Buffet breakfast is good. The air conditioning in the room is also good.

Nice hotel for a short stay in St Gallen.

Our room was rather small (only enough space to cabin-size luggage). No dining discount for hotel guests at its Japanese restaurant on 1st floor

The hotel is very convenient and the staff very helpful. I left my IPhone in my hotel room and contacted the hotel the next day ... the staff found my phone and mailed it to my home right away ... will stay there again and recommend

Great stay at a central and well-managed hotel

The Hotel is perfectly situated near the train station. I've become a regular visitor, because the room has everything I need for shorter stays, it's always clean and relatively quiet given the central location, and the breakfast is great.

Nice, modern hotel. Location is right across from the central station, which is convenient for people arriving by train. Also relatively close to the St. Gallen monastery. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast with a nice view of the city.

Location, price for an overnight stay was just perfect. Just across the street from the main station. Walking distance from the city center.

No note that the reception was a construction site. They stated that it was only for a week, and I don't expect any discount, but there should be a note to let the guests know that the entrance might not look that fancy.

The hotel is literally in front of the station. Location doesn't get any better than this. I traveled for work so for that kind of trip it was perfect.

The breakfast lady was not really nice to me. Next day I decided to not have breakfast there to avoid her being rude again. She was nice to some french speakers group though, so maybe she didn't like that I assumed she spoke english? I wouldn't know.

Bathroom was disability-friendly (which is great in principle), but slightly cumbersome when used standing up.

Convenient and comfortable hotel

Excellent location right next to the station and close to the old town. Delicious breakfast in classy restaurant. Our toddler was accommodated in the room and at breakfast with a highchair. The staff are lovely and so kind!

There isn’t a lounge area where one can go to rest if you don’t wish to be in your room. We brought our stroller and the room was a bit small to accommodate it. Recommend bringing a carry backpack instead.

very nice location! nice room with big bed (too soft in my opinion) , breakfast was good, desk in room was big enough to work there
