Nice hotel

Bar closed really early. 11.30. We travelled from Scotland and didn't arrive 10.30. Time we parked and checked in we only had time for 1 drink.

Would have been better if front line staff had a better attitude.

The housekeeper was the only member of staff that I met who seemed to have a good attitude and approach to the job.

The car park overly cramped and the reception was poor. There is no easy indication in the foyer as to where the toilets are located, which after a 5 hour journey was an important issue. Having checked in, I had to go out again, but found that I could not even get into my car because of the vehicle parked next to it. When reported to reception, little care shown, the only way I managed to get my car out was by a guest checking in who could squeeze into my car and drive it forward for me. I returned at 9.45 and the restaurant was closed. I was told I was in the middle of town and withing easy reach of other restaurants, which did not prove to be the case. I had meetings the following day and got back late, but when I went to the restaurant the next morning at about 10.30, I was met by a member of staff behind the bar who was chewing and in a very offhand manner was told that everyting would be cleared away in 20 minutes, that is not 11.00 am. I checkwd out and went somewhere else to get breakfast. Overll, a disappoining experience.

Location for sure ..: two minutes walk to city centre

I wanted to extend my booking for 2 more nights… no response to my booking.com request and when i went to the front desk they did extend with 50£ more than booking.com price. The day of check out they were knocking on my door at 11AM I said i need one more hour they lady replied check with reception about late check out. That was not very friendly for someone staying 4 nights with you.

Excellent value city centre stay

Very convenient for Middlesbrough town centre. Comfy, clean and the staff were lovely. The spa facilities were great and we appreciated being able to use them after a sporting event. Excellent value for money.

The only thing I was a bit sorry about was that the sauna and steam room were out of order. I was really looking forward to a sauna, however the hot tub was a nice alternative.

Room cleanliness not the best

The hotel is well located for the access to the city centre but is not affected by any noise coming from the streets. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was fine albeit a little small.

The kettle in my room had not been cleaned properly it had a brown sludge inside which was really quite disgusting. I returned the kettle to reception for a replacement, no compensation of any kind was offered.

Room was excellent, breakfast very good and staff outstanding.

Bathroom was a bit tired and could have done with a bit of a refurb. Tap was loose and dripped, door was chipped and could have done with a lick of paint, holes in the floor where something had been fastened down. This was in a premier room as well.

The staff and ground floor was great.

The room we paid for was superior yet the room was very small, not big enough really for 2 people. Bathroom felt very narrow and the shower was not powerful. Gym was small and the pool was narrow and jacuzzi was very small, based on the fact that i am a sports athlete, i did not feel comfortable enough to use the sports facilities. The room had a/c and window which looked onto a construction site. During the night i heard those out on a night, which disturbed my sleep at 3am and had to close my bedroom window.

Breakfast

Our room was a tripple, which was not requested. there was one chair and no sofa so one of us had to sit on the bed. Only one bath towel, we were told at check out that the other was in the wardrobe, bizzare. There was a stange empty space in the room which we filled with the table that was left in the corridoor !! The receptionist directed us and others to the lounge/bar area but it was closed. The view would have been nice if the window was not filthy. The beakfast was good but I had to point out that the plate I first chose had tissue stuck on it. Also the evening menu was reduced to pizza and chips!! All in all not a good stay and we will not be going back.

Hotel is located in a backstreet of Middlesborough, not a fantastic location. Bathroom was absolutely filthy, looked like it hasn’t been cleaned from the previous occupants. Black long hairs everywhere as well as hairs leftover from shaving. Overall, room was very tired and dated but the bathroom was the worst. Bed sheets weren’t overly clean, if you looked close enough you could see multiple stains. We were only staying one night for a family event so didn’t think it was worth complaining about and having to move rooms.

A relaxing stay with warm hospitality and great spa facilities.

The room was a decent size, though a bit restrictive when the sofa bed was in use. Unfortunately, it was only cleaned once during our stay and wasn’t restocked. On a brighter note, breakfast offered a generous variety of meal options, and the staff throughout the facility were consistently warm and welcoming. The bed itself was soft and comfortable, though it wasn’t changed during our visit. The highlight of our stay was definitely the spa facilities; they were excellent and the part we enjoyed most.

Not changing the sheets, restocking the fridge and bathroom with fresh towels and sanitary stuff.

The bed sheet had fresh stains on it so dirty and the floor had balls of clustered dust and dirt , it caused an out break of breathing difficulty with my partners allergies , Hotel staff on morning were not very caring of this and also forgot to give us the instructions on how to exit the car park leaving us to figure out we needed a code which we had to then return into the hotel for , very unclean itchy stay with lack of sleep due to this

Devastated paid for nothing

Was so looking forward to the night as it was my 25th anniversary so I booked a hotel for the night to surprise my wife.

And then what a surprise we got when we got there to book in after it had already cost me 20.00 pounds in a taxi and then I was shocked to hear the hotel was fully booked even though I had confirmation receipt from you and I have already paid for the room for my anniversary which I have had to save up hard for as I am disabled and rely on my benefits to survive and I didn't have any more money to pay for another hotel so thanks to your company not only have you taken my money for nothing but you have also ruined my 25th anniversary so I would ask you to ring me ASAP on 07784 564580 to confirm what's going to happen to sort out this mess what's been made as I was definitely looking forward to the nostalgia of the place as that's where we stayed at the executive suite on our wedding night so thanks once again for ruining a very special night together for us which we never got I await your response Mr Craig Woodier
