Instead of paying such a high price for a room on Mont st. Michel, better stay on land.

The room was situated on the 2nd floor and I was not aware that I had to climb stairs with a heavy bag. It would be great to tell the clients what to expect. The breakfast was too simple with very little choice and it is not normal that you cannot get cheddar for breakfast instead of camembert. Who wants to eat camembert at 7 am. Lack of fruits. If you are vegetarian you are totally stuck and highly get something to eat. For the price of the room it is quite shocking the lack of different goodies for breakfast.

Great experience

Very good location. Amazing atmosphere in the town after the visitors are gone. From our room, we could see the comings and goings of the sea around Mont Saint Michae, also the sunrise. Definitely, I recommend staying in the hotel and not missing the sunset and sunrise there. Good wifi. Very good breakfast.

Private room with a view in a 400 year old building with all the modern comforts.

The property has three rooms and we were able to book them all, so we had a penthouse to ourselves with A/C which is essential in summer in France. The house is historic and has lovely antique details and yet provides modern comforts. The proprietors were very helpful. Clear communication. Good recommendations.

Fantastic location. Room was small but very clean and pleasant, beautiful ceiling (wooden beams, irregular shape). It was fantastic to stay overnight on Mont St Michel, I absolutely recommend.

Worth staying here

Staying on the island is very worth it for the opportunity to explore in the evening when the crowds go home. Our family stayed in 2 rooms and there are no bad views it seems. Rooms were clean and comfortable and water bottles were provided. There is excellent ability to store your luggage before check-in or after check out. We had breakfast included with our stay which was also very good.

The bathroom in one of our rooms was so small that we were required to sit sideways on the toilet (and we are of average height). The line up at check in was lengthy and not well managed as people who had been storing their luggage jumped the queue and then took up time with questions to the receptionists. Also, when we were given directions to our room, the restaurant that was used as a landmark does not have an easily visible sign on it at all so we ended up walking past it and needlessly hauling our luggage up a steep incline in the crowds.

The room (301) was tiny for 2 people. It was impossible to have 2 open suitcases on the floor while being able to open the doors. The shower, toilet and sink were very tight too.

Location is excellent. Very basic, very small room. Clean. Prepare for very basic accommodation but great for a 1 night stay to enjoy Mont Saint Michel without too many tourists.

Cozy little room in a magnificent location!

The room we were assigned was on the 2nd floor. We were able to see down to the main street. The windows opened for fresh air and you could close the sheers. (I was afraid a pigeon would fly in! lol) The toilet was a seperate room and the bathroom had a shower and tub as well as a sink with nice counter area. The beds and pillows were great and there were extra pillows and blankets in the closet. I came in knowing that the rooms would be small and there would be stairs to climb. If you come with the excitement of staying in an ancient village and overlook the small things you will have an amazing experience.

There is nothing that I didn't like. Reading other reviews I knew exactly what I was getting and was so glad I was able to stay at Mount St. Michele and be there when most of the tourists left and have some elbow room on the streets and the restaurants.

It was very close to all ammenities. Great to be able to stay on Mont Saint Michel and enjoy the island early and late in the day when there were many fewer visitors. Great breakfast included.

Please change the carpet in room 301

The location is great. It is easy to reach. Close to restaurants and gift shops.

The bed and the bathroom were clean. But the carpet on the floor was full of big dark stains. It seems like they haven’t changed the carpet for ages. For a room that’s €200 plus a night, they really need to change that carpet. Because it makes you feel like you’re walking into a shaggy place.

Please Try Harder

The location was awesome, we spent the night on Mont St Michel! We have a story to tell about staying on such an historic location. So happy we were able to do that. Breakfast was good and parking and transport to the island was easy.

Paid too much for this room, the value just wasn't there. We understand that this was a premier location to visit and that comes with a cost, however, the room was only worth half what we paid. The room was tiny, floor was spotty, bathroom was too small, hard to move around in, bathroom door hit the bed, window would not open. Unfortunately, if you want to stay here you have to pay the price. They need to do better.

Great value for wonderful experience

Communications were clear. Parking, trolley, check in location, room location- all went well. Rooms were upgraded- not sure why. Rooms with nice view to Bay. Dining on second level- rooms above. Reserved and paid ahead for dinner and breakfast. Both meals were good. Rooms were nice with extra bed on loft above. Prices were higher (but reasonable) than other places we stayed in Normandy that were not one-of-a-kind. No crowds in the evening, night and morning. Abbey tour was worth the queue, wait and crowd. Great place to stay on an amazing, historic, and memorable island.

Staying on the island is a treat. For that privilege, be prepared to offer up some sacrifice both physically and emotionally. Mouton blanc failed to mention several details of the stay: We hauled our luggage to the Mouton Blanc reception location listed on their site and Maps. Once arriving we were greeted with a locked door and a sign that instructs to walk all the way back down the hill to look for a different reception area. After looking for it for about 30 minutes, I was quite sweaty and a bit dejected. I expressed my angst to the desk clerk, who admitted that she knew the email and instructions were not accurate. She gave our room key and instructed that we were not located in the main building but must walk further up the hill with our bags. If arriving in the afternoon, this thrice back and forth journey is accompanied by thousands of tourists who don’t care about you and your bags. Fortunately, when we eventually found our accommodations, there was a shower! Best part of arrival!

Superb

Loved the rustic feel for the property and the room. The bed was extremely comfortable. Pretty cozy overall and gave great vibes as if we were in a different time. The staff was incredibly friendly and responsive. They took great care of us.

The size of the toilet room and the bathroom. Felt a bit claustrophobic, especially where the toilet is. Door was difficult to open from the inside. Also, needed a shower door or curtain of some kind to keep from getting water onto the floor. Also a bit noisy in the morning from the street and the other guests staying in the hotel.

Difficult access but great view

The stonishing view from the room , both from bathroom and bedroom, and the comfortable bed and batheoom.

There are two much stairs outside and inside the hotel. There is no elevator and we had to climb more then a hundred steps to get to the hotel+ third floor.

An amazing experience, because our rooms had such a great view over the bay

Ideally located when you have luggage as it is right at the entrance of the Mont. The room was spacious with an amazing view - we were on the second floor of the Annex of the Auberge de la Mere Poulard. Breakfast was served as a buffet and the choice of food was good. Beware if you are not fit as there is quite a few stairs to get to the auberge and to your room. No lift. But this was not a problem for us. The staff were very nice and helpful
