Location was convenient.

Location was superb, Staff greeted and were polite and understanding, also very knowledgeable and helpful. Staff added extras were adequate for the price. Room was large enough, nice facilities, good sized bed, breakfast was served quickly and very good continental offering.

Balcony was very dirty, the seats not ideal for comfort. Pillows were very firm if not hard and not very comfortable. Breakfast was disappointing, sausage very undercooked, beans, bacon, mushrooms luke wam, scrambled eggs were over seasoned. For the price of the breakfast the portion was small.

Lovely hotel. A little bit frayed in places, such as the carpet on my floor. However the hotel staff were fabulous.

Close proximity to the railway station.

The room was ok, but could have done with somewhere to hang the towels in the bathroom. Could have done with a shelf in the bathroom too. Still had a key to open the room door and a card for the lights. For some reason no toast for breakfast.

Location was great, staff were really helpful. Bed was comfy and the atmosphere was good! Very reasonable and we would definitely come back.

Unfortunately we had a leak in the room from the windows and the plug in the bathroom sink was faulty meaning we couldn’t drain any water quickly. We did find a sock under the bed that wasn’t ours suggesting there’s not such of a deep clean in the rooms.

Not grand!

The breakfast was very good

It's called grand, not grand, the areas to public are good although the 3 days there the coffee tables in lobby were disgusting with sticky marks....carpet is absolutely worn out in hallways tripping hazard in some areas and doors worn and bashed, towel cupboard left wide open all the time you had to push shut to give clearway, our shower door was hanging off could fall at anytime needs fixing, tiles chipped and cracked on floor, no towels, ceiling a mess, window would not shut, no coat hangers I left mine for next person, bed, furniture and flooring nice, so noisy from outside...workmen with machinery 1st thing Saturday....we did complain when arrived and was told we would be moved hopefully the following night but knew we wouldn't...was given a free drink at bar for hassle not really the point we were happy to pay for them, staff excellent very run down area...was told could not be moved and we would get 20% refund but that's not gonna happen as they would of done when there...our sister-in-law had a better room...I will say the room was very clean . ..but overall due to catching up with friends and family that made it up...wouldn't stay there again .... we did get towels when my husband complained

A Perfect Stay at the Grand Hotel Swansea

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Grand Hotel in Swansea. The rooms were spotlessly clean, bright, and beautifully maintained, creating a really comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast selection was fantastic — plenty of delicious options, all fresh and perfectly cooked. What really made my visit stand out were the delightful, friendly, and incredibly helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they went out of their way to make sure everything was just right. I couldn’t recommend The Grand Hotel enough — it’s a true gem in Swansea and I’ll definitely be returning!

Love this hotel , the location , the rooms , the food are absolutely spot on ! And I have to comment on how fab the staff are , so friendly & nothing is too much trouble , they are a credit to the hotel . Well done The Grand Hotel , will be back soon !

Good value stay convenient for Swansea Station.

Good value, close to the station from where we were getting the train next day.

Kitchen closed at 8pm. Room decor a bit tired - wallpaper pealing off. You had to put your key card into a slot which was in the corner behind the door which was a very awkward position. Without any light it was difficult to see.

Lazy weekend, with great staff drinks and food.

The hotel was super clean in all the public spaces and had a beautiful smell. The staff (except one) were all lovely and so so helpful. The food was exceptional. We had the steak and It was up there. The one girl behind the bar was lovely and really bubbly. On the second day we had a knock from a lovely guy with clean towels and checking if we needed coffee loo roll bins changed etc. Really nice touch which you often don't see. There was some nigles which I've gone through below, but the staff and the food really made up for that. And we did enjoy just relaxing away from the kids.

As we approached the mess surrounding the hotel was awful. The back was a junk yard and we joked that If the junk hill slipped the whole hotel would go 🙈 jokes aside it didn't look great. The bar area was exceptionally hot it was like a sauna - we asked for the air con to be put on, which they did but only for 10 min as one of the staff didn't like cold. This was like stepping into your nans living room in decemver with an electric heater. The reception area was quite messy behind and on the desk. But I believe they are having work done so likely why. In the booking it says all rooms have plugs next to either side of bed and air con in all rooms. There 2 plus on one'side of the bed only one worked. This was plugged into a extension lead to try and accommodate things. A hazard at best and very messy. There was no plug on the other side and the TWO air cons that were in the room didn't work. There was a portable thing added and plugged into said extension lead that was useless and noisy. The telephone didn't work it wasn't even plugged in - Amd no where for it to be plugged in. This posed a problem for room service, however the staff did deal with it through messages on here for us, which other than one morning with no answers or from reception for nearly 2 hours - they did well accomating this. And the food as above was exceptional. When we used the bath I used a towel to pop up some water. The floor was stinking. You can literally see black footprints left in the towel! Also under the bed was disgusting. They looked like they had never been pulled out to be cleaned. We did have extremely noisy neighbours on the first night. But that's not down to the hotel.

Lovely hotel, great value for money

Lovely comfy bed, lots of TV stations, exceptionally clean with modern decor, lots of tea bags, milks and biscuits, plenty of shower gel bottles and soaps. Great to be opposite the train station.

No bath mat which made me anxious about slipping in the bath when showering.

Short and sweet

From the moment I walked in got a good feel about the hotel, place was rammed for Sunday lunch, it was a beautiful day and loads of people on the terrace as well. Great atmosphere. Food was fabulous, all staff I met were very professional and friendly. Parking very close by and very reasonable 5£ for 24 hours. Train station across the street and never heard anything from it. Definitely recommend and hopefully will visit again.

Great hotel, amazing staff and delicious food!

The staff make this hotel - from the receptionist, to the bar staff, but especially the lady who was shuttling back-and-forth with breakfast and did the housekeeping. Friendly helpful and prepared to go the extra mile for the guests to stay there, as a solo female traveller they made me feel very safe and welcome. This hotel should be proud of their team (give them a raise!!) The room was clean, tidy and very comfortable and a little extra bits made my stay enjoyable. I slept well on both nights. The food in the hotel was delicious plenty of choice and piping hot. That location was close to a train station and car parking , Tesco extra direct the opposite if you fancy a snack! I walked into town several times it was only 10 minutes away so great location for shopping. We definitely recommend staying here and will be back !!

Overall the stay was fine

Breakfast on the first morning was very good, the second morning it was over cooked. The lady on the floor was very good.

A lot of noise coming from the street. When there are two adults in a room, there is a need for two. This is especially important when the occupants are elderly.

Cosy, clean and friendly

Was clean and tidy. I had a lovely modern room. There was a wedding on both of the nights I was there and it was very quiet and didn’t hear a peep! The staff were lovely when I had any questions and always saluted me when I came in and out.

I can’t fault the property as I was only there for two nights but I was happy with the experience

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, greeted nicely.. On departure a member of staff could see me struggling with my bags and she offered to help me downstairs, very kind of her (I didn't catch her name)

The hotel smelt of extremely strong of air fresher, you could smell the hotel from the street outside. The room was relatively clean but need a bit more attention to detail, dusting etc, flys in the bedroom light etc
