Great location

Location was excellent. Walking distance to everywhere. Train station 5 mins. Restaurants and supermarkets. Lake 8 mins. The room was a good size. Very warm. The most comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was very good with excellent coffee. Good tea and coffee facilities in room with small fridge too.

I would have liked some slippers in the room. Its the first hotel in a long time that hasn't provided slippers. I didnt ask for some, maybe if I had they may have provided.

Great for short stay

The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a large bed and a clean bathroom. The location is perfect - just 20 minutes from the airport by taxi and less than a five-minute walk to the train station, which made getting around very convenient. We only stayed for one night, so we didn’t have the chance to try the hotel’s restaurant. However, the service was excellent. The reception staff were polite, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay and a chocolate in the room for Valentines was a sweet touch. Overall, it was a perfect one-night stay and great value for the price.

The room we stayed at felt a bit tired, with noticeable marks on the walls and stains. The bathroom showed similar signs of wear. A few smaller details were also missing, such as a soap dish, slippers, robes etc, which would have made the stay more comfortable. The smart TV connection didn’t work, which was slightly frustrating, especially since there are only a limited number of English channels available, but this wasn’t a major issue for us overall.

Good value, decent location - would stay here again.

Decent hotel for Geneva, an expensive city. Breakfast is okay...not as good as other hotels we stayed at because the selection wasn't as large. The location worked for us because it was easy to access from central train station (took train from airport). The location isn't near all the sites but we didn't mind the walk and it was easy to get transit to CERN (highly recommend), the UN (1 hour tour was too expensive - saw the Assembly Hall and a meeting room and wandered around with guide who was hard to hear) and the Red Cross (don't recommend this - just not enough to see/learn and it was relatively expensive) No problem walking to the Jet D'eau. (about 20 minutes from hotel)

Room is a bit small compared to others we stayed at on this trip but probably comparable to other Geneva hotels in same price range. Not right in the Old Town but that was okay with us based on what we wanted to see and do.

Favorite stay of the year!

The room was great, lots of space, very clean and comfortable, same goes for the bathroom, simply perfect. The location is ideal, and everyone was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately didn't have time to try the breakfast buffet, but we'll be back! This was definitely my favorite hotel this year.

Lovely hotel, great location

We had a really lovely stay at the Kipling Hotel in Geneva. The location is perfect. The Christmas market is just a short 5-minute walk away, and the city center can be reached in about 10 minutes on foot. The private parking was very convenient. Check-in was quick and effortless. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was sweet and enjoyable, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. It truly felt like being at home. A very thoughtful touch was the small takeaway treats we were given when leaving. We were extremely happy with our stay and would definitely choose this hotel again if we return to Geneva.

Nice and cozy hotel with extremely loud elevator which ruins your sleep

cozy tiny little hotel with 5 floors, friendly staff, not directly on the main road and only 50m from the tram stop. Cozy and nicely equipped, clean rooms with nice extra bathroom. Delicious breakfast with nearly everything you can imagine in a tiny but cozy room which becomes quickly crowded.

The main and important issue is the elevator and 10 rooms which are directly located at the left and right side of it. The elevator is extremely noisy throughout (day and night) I couldn´t sleep at all. Apparently, it's all about earning money. Other hotels normally have laundry rooms or storage in those rooms but in this hotel your wall is directly next to the elevator. No restaurant or bar in the hotel.

Overall a great stay, would return.

I'm a disabled traveller so when I emailed the room to explain the situation they were very responsive and the reply was excellent, when we arrived they were very accommodating. We will likely return to this hotel when we come back to Geneva.

We had an early check out, so opted for the express breakfast, wish we hadn't bothered, it's not worth it, two bits of bread, a coffee that isn't very nice, and a small glass of orange juice, 10 CHF, don't bother with this, get something outside at a cafe.

The breakfast was very nice with a decent amount of options. The location is really good, a few minutes walk from both Cornavin station and also the lake, and lots of good food places on the main road next to the hotel.

Really enjoy staying

location was great, 5-6mins walking distance from railway station and 10-15mins walk to lake. Hotel provided us the free public transport card, but never used it as most of place was within walking distance and enjoyed working around Geneva. Staff was very friendly and Breakfast was nice and good for price.

A very goo choise to discover Geneva

The hotel is very well positioned towards the center and the lake. We received a free transport card from the hotel (by boat, by public transport and by train throughout the canton) for the entire duration of our stay. Impeccable cleanliness, rich breakfast, with many choices, a particularly beautiful room, very friendly staff. In short, everything is perfect

The continental ("express") breakfast was awful. 1 mini croissant, I mini pain au chocolat, a cup of machine coffee and a glass of juice for CHF 9.50. There are far nicer breakfasts to be had just a few minutes walk away.

Lovely Stay in Geneva!

The front desk staff could not have been more friendly! They gave me good tips for the area. When I read reviews I was a little worried about the area the hotel was in as some described it as sketchy and I am a women and was traveling with my teenaged daughter. I really liked the neighborhood though and felt perfectly safe! The neighborhood actually turned out to be one of the best parts of the stay. I liked that it felt more local and was very diverse - it was like staying in Park Slope vs Manhattan but on a smaller scale as everything was easier to get to. There was a cute tea house close by (La Vouivre) with nice outdoor seating. We had a great Indian lunch at the nearby Curry Club by Chef Urvi. Right next door to the hotel was a cute organic market. We were also close to the water taxi which was a fun way to go downtown for the Choco Pass stops, and buses to the UN, and the train to the airport was very convenient too! It was only a 15 min ride to the airport a nd free with the hotel transit pass. Geneva was in a heat wave, so the air conditioning of the hotel was welcome. We also loved the Kipling decor of the hotel which made it unique and cozy. The room also had a deep bath tub which was nice for soaking in after a day of sightseeing! I also liked the flavored water in the lobby and comfy couches. We would definitely stay there next time we're in Geneva!

Pleasant stay in Geneva - Family of 4

We stayed here for one night before we flew out of Geneva. The hotel stored our bags for us until our rooms were ready and provided us with complimentary travel cards for transit within Geneva (anything that reduces the cost in Switzerland is welcome!). The rooms were a good size and clean, with comfortable beds. The location was pretty close to the train station, which was convenient for us. Everything was pleasant, no complaints.

I would absolutely recommend this place. Everything about our stay was fabulous.

The reception staff were wonderful! I liked the 24 hour check-in. The room was lovely & cosy, the bathroom was a really good size with a bath as well, and was well stocked with toiletries. The location was fabulous - close to the train station, public transport in general & of course the lake.

Spoilt by several issues

Friendly welcome by reception. All receptionists were good with one exception. Rooms were freshly decorated in colonial style.

NO A/C. Despite advertising this, the receptionist advised owners had turned this off, a $$$ saving idea. Our room was too hot to sleep - 26° at night. No spare electrical sockets for charging phones. We had to unplug bedside lights. Bad area at night. Room service failed to service our room when we returned at 3:45pm. The receptionist that day was clearly in a bad mood when I asked for our room to be done in the morning going forward and said "no we only do departing guests rooms in the morning, you have to wait".

Disappointed to not be advised of Air conditioning not working in any room!

We left after one night. The room was pleasant enough but was very very hot we opened the window to let air in which didn’t help much. We asked reception if AC could be fixed as it was blowing out hot air. She advised it was not working and that management had no plans to fix it. The small bar fridge in the room is ornamental really. It does not plug in so cannot keep things cool. We were advised this is just to keep things ‘fresh’ . We stayed one night of our 4 nights and we were allowed the cancellation thankfully. The location is great, the hotel is pleasant enough but the room was stifling so we weren’t prepared to stay . The receptionist was honest and amazing and we reiterated it was not her fault obviously.

An unforgettable stay with stunning views, excellent comfort, and outstanding service.

The room was beautiful; we were given an upgrade to one with a view of the Matterhorn. It was very spacious and tastefully decorated. The shower was excellent, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The heating worked perfectly. Breakfast was also great, with plenty of options — you could even have your eggs cooked to your liking!

Brilliant hotels- definitely recommend any of them

As Kipling was fully booked, they offered free upgrade to Auteil (4 Star!) within short walk. Staff amazing in both hotels, room spacious and clean with separate bathroom and wc.

Workmen started pneumatic drill early Thursday morning right outside the room. However we were offered another room but were checking out.
