About this house rental

The Marshall Cottage was built in 1946 and is located in the highly desired “NoHo” district (North of the Hospital). We are within walking distance or an inexpensive Uber or Lyft ride of Historic Downtown Flagstaff and just a few minutes from AZ Snowbowl.

We are also just down the street from Buffalo Park with great hiking and biking trails and one block from the hospital. We are .9 miles to Dark Sky Brewing and are less than ½ mile (8 min walk) to McPherson Park with access to 3 carpeted tennis courts, a children’s playground, hiking trails to access Buffalo Park, Jay Lively hockey rink, and frisbee golf.

Our cozy cottage sleeps 4 guests plus 2 couch surfers (full size futon). We have two bedrooms (1 queen bed, 1 full bed) with one full bathroom, onsite parking for 2 cars (driveway only), fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer and fenced backyard. WIFI and satellite television is available.

We invite you to “unplug” and enjoy our living room for conversation, reading, and listening to music—including vinyl!

Flagstaff offers unlimited activities in every season! Packed with restaurants, bars, shops, galleries and family activities on Heritage Square.

In WINTER, retreat for skiing or snowboarding at Arizona Snowbowl (10 min drive). Sledding at the Flagstaff Snow Park or cross country ski at the Nordic Center. Take advantage of our seasonal events such as the Little America Christmas Tree Light display, North Pole Experience, Polar Express (short drive to Williams) or the New Year's Eve Pinecone Drop downtown Flagstaff. Ice skate at Jay Lively Ice Rink, take in the Holiday Parade of Lights (early December).

In SPRING, skiing is often still possible! Use Flagstaff as your drop spot as you explore all the amazing destinations within our reach (Sedona, Grand Canyon, Page, Wupatki, Walnut Canyon, etc).

During SUMMER Flagstaff is the perfect escape from the desert heat. Fish, camp, hike, mountain bike, relax or just explore!

In FALL, view the changing leaves of Quaking Aspens, or hear the bugle of Elk as you hike numerous trails.

The backyard is very private and perfect for grilling, reading, bird watching or just relaxing among the flower gardens.

Things to note:
Quite time 10:00pm-7:00am. This is a city ordinance and taken seriously as well as enforced.

Currently outdoor fires are PROHIBITED within city limits

Flagstaff does not allow street parking Nov 1st- April 1st. Please park only in driveway.

Owner allows children as part of reservations but under supervision. The house is older and does not have safety features common to modern homes.

Please treat our neighbors with respect. We want to share our home with visitors but not at the expense of our neighbors peace and enjoyment of their own home.

It is suggested our guests seriously consider travel insurance. We have a lenient cancellation policy but it's a good idea to order a travel insurance policy soon, bc some of them require you to do it within 48 hours of making your first payment. The booking platform no longer considers Covid exposure a valid reason for a refund, as it was a known issue at the time of booking, 2 years into a pandemic. There are multiple travel insurance companies that do still cover it. Here's an article that compares some of the options:
https://www.forbes.com/.../best-pandemic-travel-insurance/

To make it very clear, there is NO possibility of a refund due to illness, injury, or Covid exposure, within 2 weeks of arrival. So travel insurance is recommended.

I appreciate that our host was very quick to respond to any information I needed. Yes, the cottage is old, but we liked that! It had the character you would expect for Flagstaff. The weather was cold, but we were nice and cozy. I liked sitting in the living room to read with the little gas fireplace on. I would recommend anyone visiting Flagstaff to book this little cottage.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage in NoHo. It was in a great location to explore Flagstaff. We had friends also staying close by, so we could walk between cabins and felt like we all lived in town. Hope, was an excellent host who got right back to me quickly. Really nice to have a washer and dryer. Cozy cabin with a nice gas stove by the fireplace. Each room was cozy and comfy. You will enjoy your time here.
