Barceló Huatulco - All Inclusive

The location was right on the ocean so walking into the ocean for a swim was lovely.

It is quite large so there were a lot of people. This was my first all inclusive experience. I didn’t like the noise and entertainment type hype. Also, we don’t consume alcohol and there were not many options for drinks that were alcohol free. I think for people who don’t take advantage of free alcohol could get a discount because others constantly over imbibed and we felt like we were paying for that. Also, lounge chairs were tricky to find and there seemed to be a lot of competition for spots.

The location of the beach and the staff was incredible and accommodating

The pools aren’t heated small and too close to the kids pool. The mixology is terrible. The facility is too small for the amount of people there you cannot get a lounge chair by the beach. The premium package is not worth it on the beach. It’s the exact same lounge chairs as all the guests

The food in buffet is good and abundant. The water under the building is perfect for swimming and there are lots of free activities such as shallow snorkel diving, paddling, sailing though I have no chance to play because my husband has dizzy on the boat. The food in restaurants is nice too.

If the waiting time in the restaurant was less than 10 minutes, it would be great. And the van of hotel is too expensive. I spent one-third of it by myself.

Beautiful, modern, clean, variety of things to do & location.

Nothing bad to say at all. This resort will Not disappoint. Huatulco is magical & the people are beautiful. The location is so well Maintained. Most of Huatulco is preserved as National Parks & they intent to keep it that way. No trash in streets.

The location is amazing. Overall very clean. Food was very good and diverse. The staff serving at the restaurants and the cleaning staff are super nice.

The phone in my room did not work and they never fixed it. The safe was an archaic metal box from the 1930's with the weirdest lock ever, I kid you not. And it did not work either so i had to put my valuables inside my locked suitcase. The staff at the reception could be nicer and more welcoming.

I have enjoyed the people that served and assisted me on my week stay at the Barcelona. Two pools, the Kids pool and the Adult only pee pool. The Adult only pool is actually the bar pool, with that being noted , I have watched how many times people get out of the pool to go to the washroom while drinking all afternoon, there were a couple people that got out to go to the washroom , not many . Take that as you may. I think the ocean is cleaner in which I utilized to swim. I know , not the hotels fault for people disrespecting common things like NOT peeing in the pool. But 2 pools doesn’t quite do it. Second discontent are the restaurants, if you stay 3 nights the hotel gives you 1 Al LaCarte restaurant, so I had only 2 awesome meals. The 5 other nights were a packed buffet, i repeat a single buffet restaurant in which is full from start 6:30 to around 9:30, closes at 10:30. I have waited hungry for approximately 750 people to make it through 1 buffet restaurant, it’s now 2:30 hours waiting to eat. All the Al La Carte restaurants were 1/3 full most nights. This is not the serving staffs fault in which they are attentive to your needs. Its the upper management decisions on which restaurant will be open and etc., like I have said only 1 restaurant buffet for most everyone. I have stayed at the Dreams hotel right next to Barcelos over Christmas and this time spring break at Barcelos, plus I am a well travelled individual that has never seen before only 1 restaurant buffet open in a calibre of hotels like this one. I can see if the resort wasn’t busy, well maybe ok I can see cutting costs. But not very happy customers. If a person would enjoy open restaurants that are Al laCarte open to all, every night, go to Dreams. You get more for your money , Dreams is a solid 4 star, Barcelo is a 3 dim stars due to upper management’s cost cutting . Don’t get me wrong the frontline staff are incredible and when you get an Al laCarte it is very good food.

It's everything you need to have a good rest and to enjoy some days at a nice beach. The beach is very clean and the sand is soft and enjoyable. The pools are nice too, although they may get a bit crowded. The food is good in general, but the food at the Mexican restaurant, Agave, is delicious. The service from the staff Is also great and professional. The amenities are good in general. I did not really miss anything.

WiFi wasn't available in all areas, but in my room and in the lobby it worked fine. There is, however good reception from Telcel, the leading cell phone company in Mexico.
