Good budget hotel in central Zurich

This is a budget hotel that offers everything you need for a short staying in Zurich. The price is reasonable, the room is basic but felt clean and comfortable. I really liked the bed, I wish I didn’t need to wake up at 5am!

As pointed out from others reviews, the area is noisy. It didn’t bother me as I always travel with ear plugs, but without it, I would’ve struggled. My only complaints are: the hotel doesn’t provide any water, you can buy a bottle from the vendor machine at the entrance but the price of it is CHF 4.5! The room was way too hot, I tried to lower the heating but couldn’t bring the temperature down. In the end , I had to sleep with the window open.

One night in Zurich

Clean, neat and tidy. Helpful, pleasant staff.

I would not recommend the hotel to families or single female travellers because of the location. We stayed one night (a Monday). It was very noisy outside until 3.30am. There are bars and clubs outside and to the right of the hotel. If Zurich has a 'red light' district, I think it would look like this.

Great location but not great value

Location was good and staff were friendly.

Air conditioning was ineffective was room stayed very hot overnight making it difficult to sleep. Room wasn’t cleaned in the day. No tea or coffee facilities in the room - some downstairs in reception but not free.

Average

As a solo traveller I had a single room which was fine. It had a fridge which was a bonus and meant I could keep food or drinks cool. Bathroom was modern but that’s really where it ends. I stayed Saturday to Monday. On the Saturday even around 10pm loud techno music started playing. It was vibrating through the walls and this continued right the way through till when I left to go out for the day at 7:15am on the Sunday morning (next day). I don’t believe it was anyone on the hotel but more a local. When I got in to the hotel room I saw it had air conditioning. Great I thought, till I realised that there wasn’t really any cool air being pumped in to the room. I noticed a fan in the wardrobe area, but again this didn’t circulate the air and it was also noisy. The room felt too hot, even with the windows open. Breakfast was included in my stay, but I don’t think it was worth value for money. On the Sunday morning I headed down, to find the hot water only flask full of dilute coffee. But no one really around to ask for it to be changed. There was a selection of toast, small croissants, bread rolls, ham/salami, cheese, yoghurts, fresh fruit vegetables and hot selection scrambled eggs or chopped up sausages. The hotel is approx 15min walk to the train station and approx 20mins to the old town, 30mins to the lake.

Not Worth the Money

The hotel was in a convenient location, just a 10-minute walk from Zurich HB, but the area felt unsafe, especially with drug users in the nearby park—definitely not comfortable for a stay with kids. The reception staff were basic and not very welcoming. Our room lacked air conditioning, so we struggled with heat all night using just a fan. To make matters worse, there was a strong drain smell in the shower, which made us skip showers entirely. Overall, the place felt more like a dormitory than a hotel, and it wasn't worth the money we paid.

Nice hotel with ok facilities.

It was a nice hotel, not too far from certain sites. Staff were friendly, and when I came early, they found a room for me, even when it was not check in time, which was very kind.

The room was smaller than I expected. While it was nice, I did not think it was worth the money I paid, but overall nothing wrong with the room, and still felt comfortable.

Central location for a short stay

The location is great, staff is very helpful and cooperative, rooms are very clean. There are many shops and restaurants, bars, Cafés nearby.

There were some minor issues in the bathroom (exhaust fan was not working, the hand soap dispenser was broken).

Would not go back

Rooms and bathrooms clean, comfortable and nice

First night there we had no hot water, reception would not pick up the phone to help resolve the issue and the aircon was not working sufficiently. Second night the fire alarm was going off every 10 minutes intermittently until 1 am. Staff were rude when we asked what was happening and if the issue with the alarm would be resolved or if we would need to leave. The morning of check in (11am) a cleaning lady knocked on the door and entered the room immediately leaving no time for a response, while we were getting dressed. Truly an appalling and utterly embarrassing experience which brings down how nice the rooms and bathrooms were. Disappointing

Good value for the location and quality

Despite not having central AC, they provide cooling pumps in the room and portable AC units for high summer temps. This was a life saver in hot summer weather.

Getting the portable AC unit in a spot that it could exhaust outside without losing the effect by totally opening a window was a little annoying. I could rig it though.

Low price but challenging to stay

Very friendly staff and very helpful. The room is clean. Not far from the downtown and main station. In case you want to save money in Zurich.

The location is in the middle of red light zone, might be very trashy at night and strange people around. Not very good isolation from the sound outside. In the room before me someone lock fire signalization and was smoking

Room was clean and comfortable, a good location for my business meeting.

Pillows were the down-type that squash almost flat, but that is my personal preference. While the rooms are quiet, the doors aren't think enough to prevent being woken up by other drunk guests coming back in the middle of the night!

Great shower, modern and cute little balcony. Close to everything we needed. Surprisingly has a bar fridge, which we found most Switzerland accommodation we stayed at didn't have.

Didn't realise the hotel was in a somewhat 'red light' district surrounded by adult bars and strip tease type clubs. The square got a bit rowdy ( could have been because it was New Year)
