Dissapointing

The breakfast room is less than inviting but the breakfast itself was good, served by cheerful staff.

Unlit hallway meaning i had to use my own torch to find the room. Noisy room, uncomfortable bed and the light above the bathroom did not work. The place feels generally tired and run down.

Mixed reaction

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Room recently refurbished. Room radiator, lighting and TV screen. Bedside tables. Largish shower. Very good cooked breakfast. Bathroom plumbing worked OK.

Room: One very small rail with only four coathangers. No shelves. No WiFi in room. Bathroom: Smallest possible basin. Curtain, not a door on the shower. No power point. Room service was a bit amateur. Had to ask for second towel and toilet roll.

Very convenient for a Duxford overnight visit

A comfortable room for a one night stay A good quality tasty cooked breakfast ( cereals available if wanted) Value for money

Very creaky floorboards upstairs so you wake when they do (7:15 Sunday am) Bad service on evening food / wait for our meal . It was Duxford weekend and they were not sufficiently staffed to accommodate the guests that wanted feeding , staff did their best but a lot of unhappy diners which spoilt the evening

Lovely location

The rooms were located around a well maintained courtyard. Great food, comfortable bed.

No pressure in shower, wifi poor and had to ask for room supplies to be replenished.

Great little hotel

I would have to say that the staff, their friendliness and general behaviour is the best i have received in a very long term and i travel as part of my job, so i know what good service looks like.

Low pressure in the shower. I can handle most things if they are off, but this would be my only complaint about my stay.

Mostly personal preference but the mattress was a bit hard for me and I would have liked a bit coffee and milk in the room.

Overall very disappointing.

When you arrive the actual building & grounds are very good, the courtyard with the rooms going round is lovely.

We booked a deluxe double room, we got a very small room, no wardrobe only a shelf bracket with 4 hangers, there was a very wobbly unit for the tea tray etc with a thin drawer which I had to clean before any clothes could be put in it. No mirror in the bathroom, so husband couldn’t have a shave.

Clean and well positioned for places we were visiting.

Loved the communal area in the courtyard, which was great for meeting up with other family members who had also booked rooms. The full English breakfast was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable and a fan was also provided, which was a nice touch. A large parking area.

Nothing, we had everything we needed. Hanging space is limited if you are staying longer than a couple of days and require several changes of clothing. It would have been nice to see the fountain working but that didn't affect our stay.

The layout was nice

The electric sockets hanging off the wall and the bar was closed by 9/9:30. The heating wasn’t working and we had one bath towel and one hand towel between two of us

Basic, clean and fair

Breakfast was good. They were flexible in meeting our requests. The rest was self service - coffee, tea, cereal, juice. Rooms were clean and uncluttered. Food menu was basic. Plenty of parking.

Nothing really. It was basic, clean and did the job. The taxi cab service recommended by the pub/hotel was expensive and arrived late despite booking in advance.

Wholly unacceptable breakfast service.

Comfortable bed

Sunday breakfast was supposed to be from 8-10am. I was outside waiting for the doors to open at 8. Everything was locked up and stayed that way till 8.50! I couldn’t even hand my key in to leave as there was no letterbox either. I left at the time someone finally appeared without breakfast, which I had paid for, as I needed to get home. This was wholly unacceptable and I believe I am due some sort of reimbursement.

Location was good for us. Easy to reach and large car park. No frills but good value for money. It included breakfast as well. The rooms were comfortable and warm.

Ticked a box for a flying visit.

Simple, no fuss, clean, warm and a comfy bed.

Bathroom was a little small, nowhere to put you toiletry bag but the floor but for one night, it truly didn’t mater

Over priced for what we got

Great location and very large car park. Staff were friendly.

Breakfast was ok the first morning but on our second day it was cold. Bed was very uncomfortable. You could feel the springs in the mattress and when I sat on the bed the mattress compressed so much that I hit my bottom on the bed base! Decor tired and radiator in the bathroom was rusty. The door had a huge gap between the door and the frame. It was ok as it was warm but would have let in a huge draft if it had been cold as it was a door directly to outside. The door was loose and you could shake it when it was locked. Definitely over priced for what we got.

Close to family, comfy bed and great breakfast

Freezing bathroom - towel rail not working and only 1 towel! There were 2 of us. Would have asked for help but we arrived back at 9pm and bar was closed and no one around

The staff were friendly, location was perfect for our needs, the breakfast and evening meal we had were very good.

I understand why but there was too much noise from staff children running around for our liking, the rooms were ok but nothing special (shower trays were cheap/flimsy).

Family room was good value for money. The staff we absolutely lovely.

Deep fried sausage, mushrooms and hash brown for breakfast. Bacon and eggs were nice though.

Just about OK

Although the location is in the middle of nowhere, it is ideal for RAF Duxford. Big carpark. Friendly helpful staff. Nice shower, easy to work.

The room was small, the bathroom was extremely small and the washbasin and shelf above it are too close together - kept bumping my head. Needed net curtains or blinds. A small chair would be much better than the stool. Bed a bit small - probably a standard double and the mattress was a bit soft for my liking. Menu was very American. Fruit and brown bread should have been offered for breakfast.

It was quite basic overall but we still enjoyed our break.

Breakfast was fine although a choice of brown or white bread would have been nice, The beds were comfy and we liked the fact that all the chalets were named after aircraft!!. The gardens were nice too.

The bathroom was very narrow and there was not much space to dry our towels which did not automatically get changed and when I asked about it I was told that they only got changed every other day but I was given one replacement on request. We also arrived early and despite our room being ready we were told it would be an additional £10 so we went for a walk.

Nice appearing but a few negatives really hurt it

Plenty of towels Staff was very friendly and breakfast was awesome

The shower was beyond pitiful. Three rooms our group had and each one had a shower that dribbled. I am not joking. Less than a dribble. Beds are super super soft and noisy springs. Very noisy courtyard at night. Shower head didn’t stay up. Support bar for head pulled right out of its base Kettle barely fit in the sink to fill. You had to squeeze it in With a bit of work it would greatly improve

Disappointing

Beds were comfortable.

The staff weren't particularly helpful when we arrived. We had to ask for another towel as there was only one in the room. The bathroom was dirty, mould in the shower, the toilet leaked and the facilities were basically inadequate.

The gardens and lay out is beautiful

Food was nice 🙂

We were sat at the wrong table for breakfast which we didn't realise and a member of staff was quite rude about it telling us to move. I found that quite upsetting but apart from that the other staff were absolutely fantastic 😊 Room was also really small but was ok
