This was our second visit to the cottage as a family and it was as perfect as the last one.

This was our second visit to the cottage as a family and it was as perfect as the last one. Penybont is in a great location near Bala lake and the views from the cottage over the river and fields dotted with sheep, with the hills as a backdrop are beautiful The cottage is immaculately clean, its warm and cosy and we loved to come back to the big wood burning stove after a day exploring The house is well equipped like a home from home so you can use the huge range cooker for family meals There is fast wifi to keep everyone happy & big tv with Netflix and there is space for everyone to relax The beds are comfy & they even all have electric blankets & great linen. I loved the powerful rain shower, fluffy white towels & gorgeous toiletries left for guests to use It was the perfect Autumn break for us as a family Cannot wait to return

Another fantastic stay at Pen Y Bont Cottage. It is a gorgeous cottage and an ideal location for exploring North Wales. We particularly enjoyed exploring the area on our e-bikes and walking. Will definitely be returning.

We especially appreciated the well-equipped facilities, which made everything from morning breakfasts to relaxed evenings completely hassle-free. Set in a tranquil location with easy access to local attractions, it was both a restful retreat and a brilliant base for exploring- paddle boarding, walking and relaxing. We would highly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a warm, welcoming home-away-from-home.

Excellent property , well equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting room , nice outside seating area. The property also had its own parking area. Good communication from the host , who also left us a little ‘welcome pack’ of wine & cake.

We have all had a wonderful weekend. The cottage was amazing, very clean and well-equipped for everything. Location is great and parking is easy. I highly recommend Pen-Y-cottage. The hosts are very quick and responsive to anything.

Perfect accommodation - lovely host. Would love to come back!

As we entered the property we were greeted with some flowers, a cake and a bottle of Prosecco. We were provided with a guidebook with information on how to use the facilities and rules (though there were not many!). Each bed had a hot water bottle on which was very kind! They provide all tools needed to ignite the log burner (firefighters, logs & matches). We didn’t even need to bring any board/family games as they have so much choice there! The host was lovely to speak with and returned the deposit same day. Everything was clean and tidy, it felt so homely and cosy. We will definitely be returning!

beautifully presented cottage very comfortable stay

beautiful cottage very clean and it was lovely to come in to fresh flowers and a bottle of prosecco. the cottage had everything we needed, lovely comfortable beds hot water wifi and cable tv, loads of parking which was great. the location was a nice, quite village we visited the local pub which is a 10 min walk from the cottage, which was very good, had nice food and very friendly staff.

the weekend we went away it was exceptionally cold weather, and the cottage was freezing when we got there, we would have hoped the heating would have been on low, so unfortunately, it took all day and into the evening. we realised, some of the radiators were not working, which did not help with trying to get the temperature to a pleasant heat, I did message the owner, who responded immediately and did try to get a plumber out. and gave us some suggestion's to help the situation. there was a wood burner and logs and coal provided, which helped, and by the second day it was much cosier, the upstairs was very warm and the bedroom toasty, it was just the downstairs that took a while to warm up due to some of the radiators not working, but hopefully the plumber will get this sorted for further visits in cold weather.

Very Nice time but no sleep.

Lovely cottage. Heating and water is excellent great in the winter. Spacious and clean. The cooker is awesome and want one in my house. Parking is great and only 5 mins from Bala. Colin is a great host very good communication.

The beds. All beds were awful. This lets down the property. Very old mattresses lumpy bouncy rock hard and bounced like a trampoline. Main bedroom the bed makes more noise than squeaky floor boards. We never slept for two nights. On top of this it’s on a main road that’s a fast road so had lots of traffic and lorries driving past. This again lets it down as the windows are very old and can hear everything. Such a shame that these two things let it down. Or Colin sorts the beds out this would have helped our sleep I’m sure.

We loved that they had put milk in the fridge for us as we travelled 4 hours so couldn't take anything with us. They also had a bottle of Prosecco and fresh flowers awaiting us which was a lovely surprise.

Excellent stay

The house is beautiful keept by the owner with all the confort you need for a great stay. The kitchen is very good equipped , the beds are really confortable, it was very clean, warm and no problems with the hot water. The location is perfect if you want to explore Snowdonia. Beautiful rural roads in the back of the property , perfect sunset and we enjoyed the sheeps all around. It was a perfect stay for us and we will really wnat to return. Lovely spacious cottage ideal for exploring Snowdonia

We loved our stay at Pen Y Bont Cottage. The surrounding area is lovely with scenic views over the mountains. The location is great for exploring Snowdonia National Park as well as trips further afield to Conwy in the North and the western coastal areas. The cottage is very quaint and has been beautifully refurbished on the inside. It is very spacious and comfortable and has plenty of space for a family. All the rooms are very well equipped and the cottage feels like a home rather than a rental. Host was very friendly (bottle of prosecco waiting for us when we arrived) and we got very detailed information prior to arrival. Would definitely go again.
