⚠️ Unexpected mandatory fees requested after booking

Didn’t stay but looked lovely if I knew the costs associated outside of booking.com initially

After booking, I received an email requesting an additional €170, with a warning that if it wasn’t paid by a set date the booking would be cancelled, I wouldn’t be allowed to check in, and I would lose my deposit. This was not clearly presented as a mandatory charge at the point of booking. Further emails then referred to additional utilities and service fees to be paid later, again outside of the original price shown on Booking.com. This made the total cost significantly higher than expected and left me uncomfortable proceeding. Due to the lack of clarity and the pressure to pay extra fees after booking, I did not stay at the property. Communication focused on chasing payment rather than resolving the issue. I would strongly advise future guests to confirm all mandatory charges in writing before booking, as the final cost may be much higher than advertised.

A pleasant stay in an interesting Spanish town.

Accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very well equipped with some thoughtful and useful items. The heating worked well and there were extra blankets and pillows in the bedrooms. Wim went above and beyond to help us and sort any queries we had.

Good

Clean and tidy apartment - good size kitchen, two bathrooms and good access to town. Two pools a bonus in the June heat. Pego is a delightful town with plenty going on. Moors and Christians festival was fantastic.

Missed having a ‘dressing’ table in bedroom and storage in bathroom for toiletries and makeup etc. All the basics were there so there wasn’t a problem.

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in Pego! Die Wohnung ist sehr schön, sauber und bestens ausgestattet – es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Lage ist ruhig und angenehm, perfekt zum Entspannen. Der Vermieter war ausgesprochen nett und hilfsbereit. Besonders begeistert war mein Sohn vom Pool – das absolute Highlight unseres Aufenthalts! Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und kommen sehr gerne wieder.

El apartamento es perfecto pero descansar, tiene todo las comodidades y tanto el acceso como el espacio de piscinas es genial. Wim es atento y empático, además deja detalles para que tu llegada sea perfecta. Muchas gracias! Muy recomendable!

Muy cómodo, amplio y agradable.

La casa es muy agradable y tiene mucho menaje. La terraza es grande y el salón cómodo.

Las personas que me atendieron telefónicamente a mi llegada, fueron agradables pero no hablaban español, solo inglés. Tampoco había canales de TV españoles. Sugiero que incluyan un secador de pelo y algún colgador en el baño grande.
