Location, quiet area.
Lack of sufficient heating as weather was colder than expected. Central heating is only available from July - October. There was only one small heat pump for the apartment with two small mobile electric heaters.

This is basically a 2-bedroom, 2 bath apartment, with an outdoor deck, a kitchen, and ready access to a washing machine. We loved it. Given all the outdoors activities of the area, it’s really a plus to have a clothes washing machine right there. The rooms are good-sized and the owner is delightful.

The is the nicest apartment we have stayed in on our trip through New Zealand so far. The accommodations were in beautiful condition, and the proprietors had provided every little detail to make the stay enjoyable. They even provided robes and slippers! They were also very friendly and helpful. We recommend trying their brewery- Ground Up Brewing, the beers were delicious!
There isn't a single thing we were not happy with.
