Smugglers Rest Bed & Breakfast

Location was superb...exactly where we wanted to be for the occasion we were in Whitby to attend

Washbasin a little small for a nan to use but nothing more that sn inconvenience for our one night stay.

Location and friendly staff.

Clean room and facilities, comfortable bed, good location. Easy to follow instructions for self check-in.

The location was very good The hotel was very clean

No real check in just keys left in door Booked king room as thought this would be the best room , it’s actually tiny nothing king about it at all - ground floor room so no privacy had to keep the curtains closed Bed was 2 singles pushed together which slid apart during the night No toilet roll on arrival, no toiletries at all provided and for the price I would have expected something Breakfast is pre order which is fine , but I don’t eat cooked breakfast so VERY limited continental choice only 2 cereals and only bananas as fresh fruit I hear the lady is recently a new owner but also noticed they were the only ones with vacancies I think the rooms are very overpriced for what they offer Also noticed no room freshen up in the daytime and no towel change so had to use wet towels on day 2 There is no one about for check out to see if you had a good stay etc I think this could be a good little b&b maybe when the new owner is fully established but they’re is some work to do here and maybe a re look at the pricing
