The owners are very attentive and lovely people. Gede picked us up as our driver didn’t want to drive on the last bit of the road which was flooded. Gede also drove us to the hot springs. We enjoyed our stay and they organised our trip to Mount Batur. Highly recommend this place.

Welcoming hotel near Batur

Comfortable rooms to pass a night before trekking. We booked 3 rooms with common toilet/shower, so it was ok for us. Affordable price, very friendly owner, prepared us welcome bananas. relaxing and peacefull atmosphere.

Turns out i can actually give the feedback twice, what a nice surprise! So, as i was already writing before, Putu's accomodation is soooo good. She is a great host, makes you feel welcome and keeps everything very clean. She's also super helpful with everything you might need.

Honestly you get all the best in the money you pay for the stay so it's really hard to find any drawbacks.

Wonderful stay in a great homestay with outstanding service.

Great stay close to Batur, thanks to the wonderful owners! The rooms, breakfast and service was outstanding. The owners could fix very last minute a guide for the Batur hike and transport to Sanur. And Gede helped us moving around the area, since there is not much transport options if you cannot ride a scooter. We highly recommend staying at Demsara Desa, they will make sure you have the best time.

We appreciated the daily water bottle but would have prefered a more sustainable option like a water filler to refill out own water bottles and don’t contribute to Bali’s plastic trash problem.

Best banana pancakes, family were lovely - warm and helpful. Organized trek to Mount Batur, took us to Batur hot springs (recommend), even made some food one evening. Rooms basic but very clean with comfy beds.

THE hosts Putu and her husband Gede went out of their way to make our stay truly comfortable, they were amazing ! Informing if we need help with anything and offering us coffee, tea and home made fried banana and waters. Also the room, the sheets and bathroom were super clean as Putu was cleaning most of the times.

Superb

We stayed there two nights to hike up Batur and to relax the next day. Gede was a very nice host who was very helpful. He also organised us a guide for the Batur hike. Because his wife fell ill he prepared the breakfast for us and it was very delicious. Especially the banana pancakes which were the best we had in the last 3 months of our journey. The homestay is very clean and the bed very comfortable. There is no ac or fan in the room but you will not need it because it gets a bit cold in the night. A Warung is right across the street which serves delicious food.

Room is bit small but no problem for a few nights :)

Everything! The most attentive, friendly, helpful host! the rooms and bathroom were kept clean always. From the minute we arrived Putu welcomed us, offered us drinks and brought us fried banana and fruits. The location is in a lovely local village ideal for Mount Batur trekking. Putu helped arrange our sunrise hike for us and a car to take us to our next destination the following day. We loved every minute:)

It's nice place, but may be better if owner put in the room heater

Very friendly and nice owners. They gave us free tea and complimetary banana fry. Beautiful garden. In the room was warm blancket (it's very important, because in the night too cold)

In the night was so cold (take more warm clothers), in the room wasn't shower and toilet (we shared bathroom for 3 rooms), sometimes wi-fi worked bad. And a lot of fly (it's general problem in all place near Batur Lake, just be ready for it)

it’s a nice place for a 3-3 hours sleep before hiking Batur.

the walls are so thin you can hear absolutely everything. rooms are very small. everything is covered in flies. A countryman behind the fence didn’t bother and started his noisy outdoor activities at 5 am.

What a lovely stay my partner and I enjoyed in Kintamani. Gede & his wife's hospitality is some of the best we have come across. She is an amazing cook & both take good care of their guests, helping you with travel, hikes, and/or general knowledge of the area. Very nice little homestay. You're greeted with a drink and some fried Bananas. Very lovely and helpfull hosts. Simple but sufficient and clean rooms. Shared bathroom always clean. You can book a guide and everything through the owners or they'll otherwise organise it for you. I needed a scooter and they drove me to the rental place and picked me up again without asking anything on return. One of if not the most, hospitable place I stayed in Bali so far. Would definitely return here if I am in the area again.

Fantastic and genuine homestay

The hosts are very lovely and forthcoming. They helped us getting a guide and a taxi. Also they took us to different places without charging anything. Cleanest place in Bali! Very quiete and natural village. We felt very welcomed

Bedroom could need a little more space. Lots of annoying flys everywhere around the village. But nothing you would really complain about!

Perfect for a 3 day volcano trek.

The best thing about this place is the family who run it. The husband and wife are exceptionally polite, well-mannered, and will go out of their way to help you. The food is a highlight, simple but very tasy, and importantly, risk free - there will be no Bali Belly with these homecooked meals.

I don't want to write anything here, so I'll use it as a public service announcement. 1) Take plenty of cash with you as there are no ATMs. 2) It would be better if you have your own bike or a local driver because there's no Grab and you're quite far away from everything - Pineh Bali Private Tours can help with that.

Wonderful people, excellent value.

The hosts, Gede and Butu, are what made our stay so memorable. They treated us as though we were a part of their family. This is a true homestay experience but with the advantage of being in detached rooms. While the accommodation is basic, it was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Located in a typical Balinese village, streets are narrow and busy with both cars and bikes manoeuvring around each other. Strangers smile and greet you without expecting you to buy something which was a refreshing change from our time in Nusa Dua. This is an excellent starting point for trekking up Mt Batur which, while challenging, is certainly worth the effort. Hot springs bathing is also close by. Our hosts helped with all our bookings, saving us heaps compared to booking through an agency. The bottom line is that if you want genuine Balinese hospitality, you will find it at Samsara Desa.

Kintamani is a region, as well as a town. The "tourist" area of Kintamani is in the town which is a full 30 minute drive from Samsara. That means you need to organise a car if you want to head to a restaurant for a meal. The positive is that the hosts will prepare tasty meals for you at local prices!

When we book the room in booking.com, we saw that the room has private bathroom. But there was not. Although not a big problem because public bathroom was clean.

Gede and his family were so lovely and went above and beyond for us during our stay! They arranged our hike up Mount Batur and provided lifts to and from the hot springs in the afternoon, which was so kind of them. The room was really spacious, very clean, and the bed was so comfortable. They also cooked dinner for us as there aren't restaurants nearby and the food was delicious!

The room was spotless, bed very comfortable. As advertised the bathroom was just steps away from the door of my room and the bathroom was beautifully tiled and perfectly clean. The hosts were amazing in their warm welcome and eagerness to help meet guests needs. Because of the elevation, the room was always a comfortable temperature.
