Thalita Cozy Apartment

We had such a wonderful stay, and the biggest reason was our incredible host, Maria. From the moment we arrived (very late, around 1:30–2:00 a.m. after our flight), she made us feel so welcome. We had a little trouble accessing the property as we weren’t advised to press the buzzer on the gate, however this was completely our own fault as Maria did provide us with her personal contact number and advised to call 1 hour before arrival which we overlooked on the message, but Maria was there to greet us with patience and kindness. During our stay, we experienced an issue with the water pressure. Maria immediately reassured us that it would be resolved, kept us updated throughout, and had everything sorted by the very next morning. Her communication and care were exceptional, and she genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. One of the highlights of our trip was meeting Maria’s wonderful 96-year-old mother, Irene, who lives on the ground floor. She greeted us every time we came and went with a smile and made us feel like part of the family. By the end of our stay, we’d built such a lovely connection with her. As a lovely coincidence, I also share the same name as Irene! Before we left, we gave Maria and Irene a plant as a small thank-you gift, and seeing Irene become emotional was such a touching moment that we’ll never forget. We already miss her. Maria was incredibly accommodating throughout our stay. She kindly allowed us a late check-out because we had a midnight flight and also looked after our luggage until the evening, which made our last day completely stress-free. She even came to see us off when her mother pressed the buzzer and called her down, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The apartment itself was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed. You can really tell how much love and care has gone into the property. The location was excellent for transport facilities, and everything felt comfortable and homely.

If we had one small suggestion, it would simply be to add a toaster and a microwave, as that’s something we’re used to having in the UK. However, this didn’t take away from our stay at all, we would happily stay here again without hesitation (we can definitely live without a toaster and microwave!). Although there was a toasty maker and waffle maker Haha!

Εξαιρετική τοποθεσία, στην καρδιά του κέντρου του Ηρακλείου. Το διαμέρισμα με μεγάλους χώρους και με όλα όσα απαιτούνται για μια άνετη διαμονή. Μας υποδέχτηκαν με παραδοσιακά καλιτσούνια και ρακί και μας έκαναν να νιώσουμε σαν να γνωριζόμαστε από παλιά. Στην επομένη επίσκεψη στο Ηράκλειο σίγουρα θα επιστρέψουμε στο THALITA.

We had an excellent 5 days stay at Thalita Cosy Apartment with our baby, and it was a wonderful experience. We arrived very early in the morning, and the host Maria was incredibly accommodating, she welcomed us at that unusual hour, explained everything clearly, and even provided helpful information about the area. The apartment itself was spotless, very comfortable, and fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay, which made traveling with a baby so much easier. It’s also in a great location, just a short walk from the town centre, so we could easily explore while still enjoying a peaceful place to come back to. On top of that, Maria was always available to answer any questions, which made us feel really well taken care of. Overall, we had a great experience and would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Crete.
