Casa del Tiglio is located inside a characteristic and elegant house located a stone’s throw from the ferry and the famous Lovers promenade of Varenna, and a few meters from the train station. The location is perfect to enjoy the best of the tourist services offered.

This panoramic apartment is located on the top floor and enjoys two splendid terraces: one facing the lake, ideal for enjoying the sunset in front of a drink and the other facing the mountains, ideal for delicious summer lunches. Casa del Tiglio, very bright and characteristic, consists of entrance hall, large living room with kitchenette, dining area and sofa area, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The sofa area has a single sofa bed so it can accommodate up to 3 people.

Casa del Tiglio is a charming solution, fully furnished and equipped with TV (in the bedroom), outdoor furniture, gas hob, fridge, kettle and everything needed for complete use. Casa del Tiglio is located in the central area of Varenna, about 200 meters from Piazza San Giorgio, 250 meters from Varenna station, with trains to and from Milan at all hours, 10 meters from the ferry that connects Varenna to Bellagio, Cadenabbia, Menaggio, Tremezzo and all the central lake.

The apartment was in a perfect location. It was just a few minutes walk from the train station to check in with Varenna Holidays, and then another couple of minutes walk to the apartment. We had a wonderful view of the lake from the front deck and enjoyed watching the comings and goings of the ferries. We could easily walk into the town centre for restaurants, cafes and bars, and shopping, and could just hop on a ferry to visit other towns on the lake. The apartment was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was updated and efficient. There was a washing machine, although we did not use it. One suggestion we would like to make isfor more lighting in the living area (kitchen and sitting room). We stayed in Casa del Tiglio towards the end of October and it was getting darker, so more inside lighting would have been appreciated. We would definitely recommend Casa del Tiglio as a perfect base to explore Lake Como!

We can’t say enough about our stay in Varenna. This apartment is located within easy walking distance from everything in Varenna, the train station, the ferry boats, the restaurants, gelato, shops and most importantly the lake is visible from every window. We felt safe and well taken care of during our stay. The washing machine was great for us to do some laundry. They have everything we needed, a laundry drying rack, laundry soap, dish soap, towels, bedding, an umbrella for the day it rained. It was an amazing stay.

Nothing close to comfortable. Features are exaggerated. Distances and walking times are greatly understated. After 15 HOURS refrigerator on ‘coldest’’ setting was barely cool. The only refrigerator shelf for large bottles was broken and unusable. Sofa and chair covers smelled of sweat--human or dog? Tilt feature of bedroom was windows inop: One broken, other stuck. No mattress cover or fitted bed sheet, just a very thin flat sheet that did not stay tucked and mattress covered with hundreds of "pills". Very dark outside staircase dangerously unlit. No working light in main area. No working light switch at entry: We used refrigerator light to make our way to light switch at center of kitchen. Amenities scarce: 1 tea towel, 3 hangers, few utensils, only moka pot for coffee. No detergents for washing machine or dishwasher. As in another rental site review on Nov 2021, yes 2021, management was aware that auto-locking gate lock was broken from inside: VERY difficult and frustrating to insert key to unlock from inside. If owner believes a lock is necessary for location, it should work. We paid for a week, but left after ONE night. NO refund or accommodation offered. Varenna Holidays neglected its duty to check apartment for minimal standards. We suspect staff either does not have an inspection checklist or failed to use it. Apartment should never have been admitted to its portfolio or should have been removed once found maintained unsatisfactorily.

This apartment is even better than the pictures. We quickly learned the paths to get everywhere. There was a nice grocery close by. Everything was neat and clean. It is one flight up, about 14 steps. It has an elevator, it I don’t like to take them because of my claustrophobia. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.

Our stay in Varenna was terrific! We enjoyed the location, the people and of course, the magical views. The apartment was spotless, has most of the items necessary for a comfortable stay. Only for awareness (it didn't bother us) - there is no air conditioning in the unit. The fan may be sufficient depending on the time of the year you are visiting. Also, the proximity to the ferry may have some drawback for some - the noise and the smell of diesel fuel. We are however still rating this as a great stay, as the items above did not represent a negative for our vacation. Many thanks to Francesca at the Varenna Holiday agency - very helpful and prompt! We recommend.

Fantastic Village location, so close to ferry port, it was perfect to tour the area. Accommodation just as described and great to sit on the balcony to watch the evening go by. Could do with more glasses and crockery though. Thank you.

Our family loved this apartment. Great location and great views from every window. Ferry is right there and it’s a quick walk along the water to the center of town. 5 minute walk to the train station. Management company was quick to respond to any questions. We will be back.

Loved staying in this apartment. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the sunset over lake. Ferry landing one steep, downhill block away. Comfortable bed. Adequate kitchen & bath. Communication with property managers was excellent, including visual directions to find the apartment. Quirks & information: 1) Not in the main part of village of Varenna; that’s actually 5 minute walk up & down a small hill. But the ferry landing has a couple small restaurants and a bar. 2) We specifically chose this apartment because it’s 5min from the train station so we wouldn’t have far to go when we arrived with our luggage; however, to pick up the key at check-in we had to walk into town, past the apartment, get the keys, then back to the apartment. So a 15 min walk up & down hills rather than a 5 min walk down hill from train station. Not big deal, but I wish I had known upon selection. 3) There is gate access to the apartment which locks automatically, but only unlocks with a key. And there’s only one set of keys. I did not like the feeling of being locked-in when my husband went out to get groceries. 4) Not handicap accessible, up one flight of stairs to the apartment. We knew this in advance and were fine with it. Despite the quirks, we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful week in Varenna and would love to come again in the future! Indeed we already recommended Casa del Tiglio and the very good and kind service of the lovely girls of Varenna Holidays to friends. Sara and her collegues were always there for us and we could reach Sara anytime, so we felt very welcome and safe! In the apartment we had two nice balconies with sun in the morning and evening, a kitchen and bathroom that offered all that we needed, we had a good sleep in the airy sleeping room and the area around was perfect for going by foot or by ferry to a lot of lovely locations and restaurants near and far. Furthermore our neighbours in the house below were so friendly people, always ready for a little kind chat. Thank you Varenna Holidays for a really relaxing beautiful week! Varenna è un piccolo borgo molto carino e la sua varietà di proposte (sentieri nella natura, paesaggi, ville storiche, giardini) lo rende speciale. E' servito più che bene, dalle innumerevoli corse dei battelli della navigazione del lago. L'unico neo (ma che forse da un altro lato è la sua bellezza), consiste nella mancanza di parcheggi E' praticamente obbligatorio sostare al parcheggio multipiano all'ingresso del paese. Il personale di Varenna Holidays è stato gentile e pronto ad accontentare le nostre richieste. Occorre chiarire meglio la questione del ticket del parcheggio multipiano: ad esempio il biglietto multiplo 3 giorni vale 72 ore (cioè 3 giorni) dal momento della convalida.

Nous avons passé 2 nuits à Varenna. Le village est un des plus beaux au bord du lac de Côme. Location idéalement située, correctement équipée. Nous avons pris l’abonnement du parking : bien nous en a pris car il est extrêmement difficile de se garer. Nous regrettons que cette information ne nous soit pas parvenue en amont cela aurait éviter de perdre une heure pour se garer. Nous sommes arrivés le 15 août : ce qui a causé l’absence de tout accompagnement tant au Check-in qu’au Check-out ce qui est regrettable. L’envoi du ticket de parking aurait été un plus.
