Maison de village au pays des lavandes à Valensole

Except of the chipped terracotta floor tiles, the flat was nicely renovated, very clean, with nice photos on the wall and the kitchen was well equipped.

No personal service provided. We needed to make up the beds on our arrival + we were asked to empty the bins, to strip of the bedlinen, etc. when leaving. For elderly people, who do not want to climb up the bank bed, the described and provided sofa bed is not comfortable. Toiletries were not provided as promised. There was only ½ a roll of toilet paper for 2 people staying for 3 nights, even after asking for more, there was only a short e-mail response indicating no effort to provide more. The host was only contactable via booking.com-email and French telephone number. Host responded in a timely manner to e-mails, but we do not recommend flat/host for foreign guests without French speaking knowledge. Although booking.com process was in English, it seems the host does not speak and understand English. We needed to use a French-English translator as our English e-mails were always responded to in French, although we had asked for an English response in our first conversation. It was mentioned that no parking is available, but there is no even space for unpacking. Parking is impossible. We stopped in the narrow street, effectively blocking the street and drive away in-between unloading and loading our luggage. Although we mentioned that we will arrive by car, parking options were not provided with the arrival instructions. A friendly neighbour helped with parking info, before we had to contact the host via E-mail and translation program. Free public parking: 5-minute walk up the street. Walk to town: 4-minute walk down the street. There might be an English Translation error: “Ground floor”, but you must climb up 8 stairs. No “city view”, but we only had a close look at the roof of the opposite house and up and down the narrow street in which the house is situated. No space which could be called “dressing room”.

initially hard to find the actual property. also, hard to find parking. you’d have to walk quite a few to where you’re allowed to park. no wifi, and no utensils. there are pans, plates, glasses to use, but the forks, spoon, and knives to use. the beddings weren’t prepared, and had to do it ourselves. The toilet is separated from the shower/bathroom (not so much an issue, but just weird).

The location is great, very close to the city center. Major lavender fields are not far by car. Air conditioning was a plus during the hot days.

I didn’t like that the front door was direct in the street and the surroundings were quite dark and empty in the evening.

Newly refurbished flat, close to the Valensole village center, it’s a good location to experience the way of life in a village

No WiFi and the television is not working, all instructions are in French, I couldn’t bother much with the tele or WiFi so it was still a pleasant stay for me.

Difficile d’accéder à la rue en travaux ( mais l’hôte n’y est pour rien ! 👍) Literie du canapé qui pourrait éventuellement être changé.

Appartement calme, pas de nuisances, propre et frais par la nature de la construction traditionnelle, durant l'été la climatisation est un plus. Habitabilité suffisante pour un couple et deux enfants. A proximité de la place de Valensole et ses petits commerces. On peut visiter à pied. Idéal pour un court séjour. Hôte réactif aux prises de contact et échanges.

Pas de mauvaise appréciation juste des suggestions d'améliorations : Remplacer le matelas du canapé pliable, il est inconfortable. Mettre à disposition un torchon et une serpillière. Une petite poubelle dans les toilettes. Ajouter quelques accessoires même en petite quantité pour dépanner, pastilles vaisselle, sac poubelle voir un rouleau supplémentaire de papier toilette. L'abonnement télé est obsolète donc non fonctionnel. A titre personnel ça ne nous a pas manqué, nous nous en sommes rendu compte une fois pour mettre un dessin animé aux enfants.

Charmante petit appartement dans un village typique de la Provence 💐 Tout était parfait. 👍
