Great location, negative aspects

Beautiful location. Lovely old property. Friendly caretakers. Sauna and pool

I booked this property for the location of the bedrooms and bathrooms. On arrival, one downstairs toilet was out of use and had been for five months ( confirmed by caretaker) This was the only toilet on one level which my elderly parents could access without assistance. There was one more downstairs bathroom but this had a step down to it. The owner was notified and wanted to send a plumber on day 3 of a 4 day stay, which wasn't appropriate. The second issue was a fly infestation of the annex room. The caretaker admitted that she didn't know if this room was being used, even though I had confirmed this with the owner. It obviously had not been prepared adequately as there were a lot of dead flies. On opening the blinds a swarm of flies were disturbed. There was also buzzing in the loft space. We attempted to clear the flies with spray and hoovering but they continued to drop on the bed and kitchen area for the full stay. The owner was notified and arranged for the caretaker to use an insect bomb in the room. Obviously, this was unacceptable as the room has to be vacated and aired. This was not a few flies, it was infested and if the room had been prepped properly, it could have been cleared before we arrived. Generally, parts of the property weren't adequately cleaned. There was food left in the cupboards by previous guests. Some of the cookware needed cleaning before use and there was evidence of rodents under one of the sinks. These were minor issues and not part of our complaint. I asked the owner for a partial refund and was offered £125 Booking.com offered a voucher to use on their site but obviously this did not compensate sufficiently for the issues raised. I'm sad to make this negative review as this was meant to be a special holiday for our extended family.

A luxurious getaway in a fantastic house with great facilities!

We liked the gardens, house, saunas and pool it was a real treat! It was spacious and accommodated our large family. The house was beautifully decorated and we all enjoyed meals together at the large farmhouse kitchen table and cosy nights by the chimneas. The large sauna was a treat, super clean with a lovely view. The gardens are lovely with a natural pool with newts and wildlife, and the younger ones had fun in the 'man cave' playing games. We all had a lovely time.

Beautiful, highly recommended

Beautiful stay. Highly recommended. Perfect for large groups. Outdoor Sauna and pool are absolutely gorgeous. We had so much fun. All the bedrooms are decorated nicely, beds and good shower rooms and toilets. Little things that is worth mentioning: In the mornings we did run out of water. Downstairs no cold water and showers did not have hot water. So bring bottled water for drinking! Also, there's not enough toilet roll for everyone. So it's worth bringing some. The neighbours (managers) are warm, welcoming and helpful. The area and the views are absolutely gorgeous. Had a lovely walk to the local pub. Everyone was so friendly and happy to see a large group of people!

Super place for a family get together.

This is a super place for a family get together! The location, facilities and amenities were all first rate. There was plenty of room for us all to have both time together and also our own space which, with 8 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 children, and a baby, plus 2 dogs, was brilliant! The outdoor pool was much enjoyed, as several members of the family enjoy wild swimming so the coolness and ambiance of pool were really appreciated. The poolhouse and sauna were lovely too. The house was so lovely and so well equipped and we all felt very comfortable in what is clearly a much-loved family home, with a beautiful garden overlooking glorious countryside. It had absolutely everything you could need for a family to get together in style!

The only thing which anyone complained about was the fact that although there is a notice on the main kitchen side of the low doorway through to the secondary kitchen area advising people to duck, there is nothing on the other to remind you and as several members of our family are over 6 feet tall there were a few yelps as heads and doorframe made contact when they forgot to duck on the way back!

Beautiful welcoming home from home with gorgeous views excellent facilities we used the pool,sauna and steam room. The house has everything you need. We had an absolute great time celebrating a 50th birthday with friends, would love to stay again.

Excellent Farmhouse, would highly recommend!

We were a party of 11, 4 adults, 6 teenagers and a 9 year old and the house was absolutely perfect for us, the ‘man cave’ about the garage was the most perfect teenagers pad!! There was plant of space for us all and the outdoor pool was just gorgeous and went down a treat with the kids. The views from the house are just stunning as are all the gardens and seating areas. The house was so well equipped, and the kitchen was just fabulous. Communication from the owners was excellent before our trip and Rachel the property manager gave us a lovely welcome and was available throughout our trip should we have needed her. All in all an amazing place, we would certainly recommend and will hopefully return one day. Thank for a fabulous short break in the gorgeous Welsh countryside!

Perfect location & size of property was great. ( man cave was amazing for older kids ). More than well equipped, beautiful home for a great family get together. Fantastic ‘huge’ family kitchen for us to cater for all of us. Steam room amazing, & pool was a great spot for us to all sit around ... (& brave the cold) for most. Would love to come back & see it all mature / finished. Highly recommended 👍🏻
