I loved this peaceful place. My room was lovely and Putri really made me feel welcome & at home as did all the helpful staff. It was really great to be close to all the attractions of Sidemen like the market and rice fields. A bonus to have breakfast included too. I had a lovely time here & totally recommended this homestay!!!

Breakfast: The fruit freshly cut. Omelette fluffy and delicious, set off with balinese toast. Plenty of coffee and jam.
Complimentary coffee, sugar and tea.
The location superb. Right next to traditional food market, ATM. 5-10 minute walk to a variety of Warungs (eating establishments), which supplied a great array of culinary delights.
Dewa was the recommmended driver/guide to various sightseeing places. He was always with a smile and suggested an itinerary for the day. Even though he had limited English we managed well with plenty of laughter and smiles.
Putri, who is the owner of House Market was easy to talk with and very knowledgeable about activities and the area.
Accomodation very clean.
When there was a clear view of Mount Agung, Putra, who works at House Market came by to show it.
Can't find a fault

There are nicer places to stay in Sidemen but they are more expensive too. House Market offers a cheaper, more basic alternative that is both comfortable, relaxing and memorable. It is in the town rather than in the tourist enclave which is good or bad depending on your point of view. I liked it. Each of the four rooms have a large bedroom and bathroom. Each room has its own atmospheric terrace to sit outside and enjoy the garden amongst traditional Balinese village architecture and a view of the hill. It is quiet with no indication you are near to the main road into Sidemen. It is under ten minutes walk to several restaurants with views and good food. There is plenty of parking space but also walking distance along quiet roads to the Rice Terrace Walk or the Yellow Bridge for those without transport. The owner is pleasant and will try to facilitate a nice stay for guests.
Breakfast is a nicely presented but a very simple affair that could be bigger, varied or a choice provided. The description on Booking.com is inaccurate in parts (for my room and the adjacent room anyway)- no tea/coffee making facilities, no wardrobe, no where to hang anything, no kitchen in my room. No drinking water in the room until asked and then not replenished. None of this worried me too much, but they were negatives. There could be more signage to the homestay or directions provided to find it. (If coming from the main Rd, walk through the market lane itself and keep on walking and it is on the right).

The owner offered us a full refund.
The availability of food in the area. We should have been better prepared.

I had a nice stay here for two nights. The hosts are very kind and brought me local breakfast which was very good in the morning and chatted with me. Scooter rental is available at the property. Location is very good. A kettle is in the room. The garden is very beautiful and I liked being on the terrace for breakfast.
The bathroom and room are basic, but for the price completely okay.

WiFi didn’t work for most of my stay

+ Good location, in the middle of Sideman. Good area if you want to see lempuyang, tirta gangaa, and besaki temple. Some cool waterfalls nearby. Can do a tour of the village as well
- Good restaurants nearby
+ Good wi-fi
+ Room was clean
+ Very nice garden in front, well maintained
- Lots of yellowing / decay on the walls
- Personally wasn't a fan of the open bathroom, the heavy rain caused issues with this (see below)
- Tonnes of ants. All over the bathroom. During heavy rain there were hundred of them in the bathroom, I had to use boiling water + soap to get rid of them. During the night they always crawled all over the toilet
- No bags in the bin. I had tissues in the bin , and when I checked the bin, there were maybe 50 ants crawling all over.
- Host didn't really speak to me at all, and there was no one else staying in the accommodation, so I was alone the whole time
- Breakfast was Ok but mostly just sugary food

As a solo female traveller who doesn’t ride a scooter I needed somewhere that was walking places to the main stuff but also felt nice and private and safe once I was in the accom. This was it! Located in a beautiful garden but walking distance to everything. Also host made me breakfast every morning & drove me to the port when I left!

The location, is right by the market. So in the morning just couple hundred metres, was local fantastic market. Just great, with all local merchants and farmers selling their wares.
All was good. I am Canadian, travelled extensively in Indonesia, this a great place The higher altitude, allows for cool sleeping air.

The room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and the private bathroom is clean. You can also rent a motorbike on site
The owners of this place is very lovely! Very responsive and will give you suggestions on where to go, as well as answer any questions you may have about the place or their culture. I could just easily walk over to their house and strike up a chat.
You can also do a programme with the owner to learn how to create offerings and at the end they will take you to their temple for meditation - all of this is explained to you in great detail. Amazing experience.
Would definitely visit this place again !! This area is sooooo beautiful

Puturi helped when I asked. She handed me some toilet paper, extra breakfast and a driver to Amed. There is nice walks in Sidemen.
Puturi is the only one speaking English and she has been there only by night. Calling and texting did not work so I was a little bit lost in terms of check in and organise trips.
She didn't want to help me with gojek and grab in order to sell a driver.
I had to ask for toilet paper and for more breakfast.
You are on your own because there is only two rooms in total. There is construction work going on from 9 to 6 because she wants to rent 2 more rooms beginning in August 2024.
The hand soap was smelling like washing detergent solved in lots of water, the dispenser for the soap was stuck sometimes, the toilet brush was laying on the ground, the place wasn't dirty but a little run down.
I had better deals for 10 € / night. It's okay but it's not coasy.

Calm and quiet. The courtyard was very peaceful. The 3 ducks walking around were great.
Breakfast basic but nice
Lack of insect screen covering open tile and brickwork. It's on the windows but the room is not completely insect proof = mosquitoes

It’s a small homestay in a lovely typical Balinese house. The room is pretty basic but it has a sitting area in an amazing garden rich with flowers and colors. The lady running it also offers good food for good price. I ended up extending my stay!

It’s a small guest house with only 2 rooms. It located just few meters from the local market. Potery the host took me to the market and explained about local ingredients for cooking. I even had cookin class with her. She organized for me a tour to old village and when i came back late one night when no restaurant was open, she made for me dinner. The place is simple, very clean. It was a nice stay.

I had an amazing short-stay here. The room is spacious and clean. There is a terrace with a view on the garden which is fulfilled of beautiful flowers!
Putri, the owner, is very friendly; I had a very warm welcome from the very first day.
Also, the breakfast is very good (specialities from Bali, fruits, coffee and tea) !
Thank you again Putri :)

Sidemen in general is a very good place to go on trips. Besakih temple is quite close, Sidemen rice fields, waterfalls. It is also a good place to experience village and rural life of Bali.
The bed and bedsheets were clean, which is very imporatnt and I appreciate it a lot.
Locals did not speak English, so it made the arrangements a bit difficult, but they were very helpfull, kind and friendly.
Breakfast in the morning was nice - fruit plate, hot water (tea/coffee), and some small local pastery.
The bathroom was a bit smelly and there was nowhere to put my bathroom stuff.
Sink is very small.
Walls and the facility in general is a bit worn out.

My stay in Hause Market was perfect !
Putri and her husband are super friendly and helpful.
Putri showed me the rices terraces and the culture of Sidemen, it was a really good moment.
She explained me a lot of things of the culture of the village, bought for me some pineapple to taste and showed me in her family the way to make Sarung (the local clothing).
The bed is very confortable and the Balinese breakfast was really tasty !
Superb stay :))

I stayed in 3 different places in Sidemen. This was my favourite one! 👌
- The owners Putri and Dewa, and their family, are very welcoming and superfriendly. There's a warm homestay feel.
- Very quiet location. A lot of privacy.
- A cosy, soft bed 😴
- The room is spacious and clean.
- There are 2 rooms with an outside sitting area, which looks out on a beautiful garden.
- A tasty, sweet breakfast with fruit, coffee and tea.
- Sidemen itself is very beautiful (hilly, view on Mt. Agung, rice fields ...).
- My most favourite restaurant in Sidemen is 'Warung Makan Dwijayanti' (4 km from the homestay). They serve the best food and the views there are amazing!

The family hosts were super nice and showed us the hand weaving, the garden is so beautiful with so many fruit trees.
The room wasn't in the best condition but it was clean and the bed was comfy. (Just keep in mind that it's an old-ish room)

3 nights i stayed at this gorgeous place in this gorgeous town. The House market has 2 nice rooms in a amazing garden full of colours. There is a lot of peace. The house market is in the main street of Sideman where you can go to the market or see the weaving experience. At the place it self you can rent a scooter, do a cooking class and enjoy the sweet breakfast. Its also close to the nature so you can take a gorgeous walk if you want to and eat some balinese meals at the amazing nearby warungs! The people are really sweet and i had the best shower in times. I definitely recommend staying here :)
