Desert Serenity in Yucca/Joshua Tree w/AC & Fire pit

My family and I stayed for a friend’s ceremony and loved the stay. Very clean and well put together. We had a great stay and plan to return.

We stayed for one night at Desert Serenity in Yucca/Joshua Tree w/AC & Fire pit and overall had mixed feelings about the experience. The house itself has been designed beautifully, with very stylish details and a feeling of luxury in the middle of the desert. The living room and bedroom were both very large and comfortable, and the outdoor area was especially beautiful and relaxing. The fire pit is a great feature, especially if you are visiting with friends and want to enjoy the desert atmosphere at night.

However, despite the beautiful overall aesthetic, the bathroom was quite disappointing. The equipment and fixtures felt very old, and the sink was extremely small and impractical, to the point where we ended up using the kitchen sink to wash our faces and brush our teeth. For something so basic in daily use, this made the stay less comfortable than expected. Unfortunately, cleanliness was also an issue for us. We found a used toothbrush and a used body sponge in the bathroom, noticed some mold in certain areas, and also found hair, so we would not describe the property as fully clean. This definitely affected the overall experience. One additional thing to keep in mind is that the owners have a dog that stayed outside prior to our arrival, so guests should be careful around the yard area because there may occasionally be dog waste outside. Overall, the property has a lot of potential and a very beautiful atmosphere, but better bathroom maintenance and higher cleaning standards would significantly improve the experience.

Check in process was very smooth and the instructions were clear to get the keys. The location was excellent - a 2 minute drive from downtown Yucca Valley and a 20 minute drive to the west entrance of Josh Vegetation Area.

There was a used bar of soap in the bathroom when we checked in, which was a little off-putting. The mat in the shower floor was a little bit dirty as well.
