Holiday Home Åkekvarn Snärjet by Interhome

We spend two wonderful weeks in the little house in Snärjet. The house is not luxury, but it has what you need for a nice vacation. Beds are okay. The covered terrace is awesome and we used it every day, even for breakfast. Great water pressure and water for three showers in a row. The area is lovely, with many nice paths. Behind the house you’ll find ruins of an old stone watermill. The lake (Orlunden) is very clean and wonderful with a nice platform to swim to, and sand for the kids to play in. Lots of places to hike or rent SUPs, canoes, kayaks etc. nearby. Shopping is close. Lots to do in Kristianstad, Karlshamn and Karskrona. Hosts very nice and attentive. New big TV has been installed, lots of channels. German and Swedish.

As others have mentioned, maybe clearing out some heirlooms may make cleaning that much easier. Bathroom very damped due to exposed pipes Pillows and duvets need cleaning or exchanging Living room a bit cramped if all six of us wanted to watch TV

Location of property absolutely wonderful, very quiet, surrounded by forest but with a nice amount of freshly mowed lawn all around the house. Fenced property along small country road, offering roofed outdoor seating area which offers great shade as well a protection against rain. Washing machine and outdoor drying rack (Wäschespinne) plus a few lines in the roofed over seating area a great plus. Not even 15minutes walk to the lake that offers wonderful swimming. Walking the other direction along our small country road one reaches an open area where there is a pretty little "resort" with hot tubs by the small creek, though the facility appear not to have been used for several years. Use of row boat at the lake (along foot path before swimming area) a definite plus since one can explore not only the small part of the lake but row into the long open section of the main lake. House is typical old farmhouse a bit overloaded with old family heirlooms (knick-knacks, those small but useless decorative objects that often clutter old places) as well as with kitchen wares (plates, cups, glasses in large amounts, filling all shelves in kitchen and living areas). Bathroom is lower than main house (several steps down!) and quite damp. Upstairs rooms have very low ceiling, so if you are 180 cm or taller, watch your head!

A dishwasher would have been great, especially considering that one had LOTS and LOTS of plates, cups, etc.)

Ein wunderschönes Haus im 60er Jahre Stil - dadurch das die Einrichtung wohl vererbt wurde hat es an nichts gefehlt allerdings dadurch auch sehr veraltet . Vermieter sonst sehr nett , Lage ist durchschnittlich etwas abseits , der See nicht direkt am Haus . Wir hatten dennoch ein paar schöne Tage , Auto ist allerdings Pflicht wenn man wo hin möchte . Direkt am Haus im Wald kommt man zu einer Lichtung wo man auch Elche findet. Wir hatten eine schöne Woche und frühere An- und Abreise war kein Problem. Die Betten bekommen eine 10 von 10 - nur sollten die Decken mal gewaschen werden - die Fussel Vom Vorgänger waren nicht so angenehm . Waschmaschine vorhanden was wirklich super war .

Die Schweden sind etwas anders sauber als die deutschen. Als Nachmieter übernimmt man die Reinigung für den nächsten - dadurch sind Geschirr und Schränke nicht die saubersten . Der Stromverbrauch ist abnormal 450kwh in einer Woche und es ist nicht die Heizung , die läuft mit Öl . Vermieter sind älteren Semesters und die Verständigung ist etwas erschwert da kaum englisch verstanden wird , und man nicht weiß wo der Strom hin geht . (Haben 150€ extra gezahlt) Achtung Kaution fällig und es ist ein interner Anbieter dazwischen so das Kommunikation über Dritte zusätzlich erschwert ist .
