The cottage is really lovely, beautifully decorated and quite recently, judging by the new looking kitchen and bathrooms.
The two doubles bedrooms are light and spacious and include a good sized wardrobe in each. There’s also a fabulous downstairs wet room with shower and WC - perfect after a day at the beach. The kitchen is also very well appointed and larger than it appears on the photos.
The parking was a bit of a problem for us. We have a normal sized family estate car (not a 4x4) but we were unable to fit it in the small space that belongs to the cottage. There’s a large telephone pole in the middle of the space, and a sheer drop at the back, so no room for error! We had to unload the bags, and then re-park a little further away.
As its name suggests, the cottage is at the top of a hill and there are steep steps to access it from the road - and steep steps up to the pretty courtyard garden, so maybe not suitable for very young children or elderly/disabled guests.

The cottage was comfortable and cozy.
The mattresses on all beds are old and worn requiring renewal. The bed frames are loose and squeaking and need adjustment/tightening.

Very good location for walking into Salcombe, North Sands beach and exploring the area.
Well equipped, nice kitchen, washing machine, dryer and good central heating.
The bed mattress is old and lumpy, very uncomfortable.
The outside of the windows were very dirty, plants growing in the gutters, the garden was completely overgrown, you can only just walk up the path next to the hedge. The outside needs some TLC and the inside is looking end of season tired.
Nice to have parking but it’s a very small grass verge, just enough for a micro sized car, not nice that it’s used as a dog toilet too.
