Apartment between Rhein and Vosges Mountains

Waasili is an incredibly unique place to stay, and we would thoroughly recommend it.It is in the centre of a rural village. Very quiet and peaceful with mainly just the sound of the countryside. Within 20 minutes we were in the nearest town (Selestat) for all our shopping requirements (there is also a patisserie/local store two doors away), and the Rhine 20 minutes in the opposite direction with a very straightforward free ferry across if visiting Europapark just beyond.The apartment was set within a traditional barn next to the owners house. Pierre was very helpful and friendly, but never intrusive. There is covered parking, and wooden steps within the barn up to the private door of the property. Although the apartment has been created to fit within the surroundings, it is well equipped to modern standards (dishwasher, microwave, etc) with very good air conditioning in the main living area and in the 2 upstairs double bedrooms. There is a bedroom with bunk beds next to the main living area, and also a good sized bathroom with washing machine and tumble drier.The stairs up to the 2 main bedrooms are quite steep, and once in the rooms, you need to take care not to bang your head on the sloping roof. Good blackout blinds to keep out the light and heat. There is also a shower room / toilet on this floor.Bianca, the neighbour’s lovely cat, will pay regular visits if you let her (we did!).Good base for Colmar, Strasbourg, Vosges Mountains and Europapark.

Property was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for a great holiday. Pierre was very helpful and on hand for any problems or advice about the area. A lovely, quiet location and very convenient to explore Alsace.

This is a wonderful apartment situated inside a barn, and it is charming. It was a great get away for my family (5 people). We enjoyed exploring the area and Pierre was a most gracious host. We highly recommend this property and hope to return again some day.

Gite Vassili is a charming place located in a pretty rural village in the Alsace region. The owners are very helpful and speak excellent English, as well as leave you to enjoy your stay. The Gite is incredibly well stocked of everything you could possibly need without being cluttered, the kitchen was better stocked than ours at home and we had everything we needed for our young daughter including the use of a beautiful traditional wooden highchair and shortly after we arrived a basket of toys & a playmat arrived for her to play with too, which was a lovely touch. Just a small note for tall people would be with regard to the 2 double rooms which are upstairs and have sloping roofs.The Gites location gives you easy access to the beautiful wine route villages as well as wonderful Colmar and a bit further Strasbourg. Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg is worth a visit too while youre enjoying a trip into the mountains. Our favourite Christmas markets were the medieval one in Ribeauville which was a unique experience (check the dates for this one as I think it only runs on the first 2 weekends in December) and magical Colmar! Wed definitely recommend this place for anytime of year. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.
