In the heart of Alsace. In the middle of a small village. Enclosed courtyard (safety for small children). Backer (french croissants) and butcher in the village. The apartment is placed next to an old renovated barn (in a previous hops dryer). The apartment fully equipped (air conditioning)
Organic food available in the close area.
Europapark is half an hour drive form the apartment
Between Colmar and Strasbourg. Close to Freiburg and Basel.

Waasili is an incredibly unique place to stay, and we would thoroughly recommend it.It is in the centre of a rural village. Very quiet and peaceful with mainly just the sound of the countryside. Within 20 minutes we were in the nearest town (Selestat) for all our shopping requirements (there is also a patisserie/local store two doors away), and the Rhine 20 minutes in the opposite direction with a very straightforward free ferry across if visiting Europapark just beyond.The apartment was set within a traditional barn next to the owners house. Pierre was very helpful and friendly, but never intrusive. There is covered parking, and wooden steps within the barn up to the private door of the property. Although the apartment has been created to fit within the surroundings, it is well equipped to modern standards (dishwasher, microwave, etc) with very good air conditioning in the main living area and in the 2 upstairs double bedrooms. There is a bedroom with bunk beds next to the main living area, and also a good sized bathroom with washing machine and tumble drier.The stairs up to the 2 main bedrooms are quite steep, and once in the rooms, you need to take care not to bang your head on the sloping roof. Good blackout blinds to keep out the light and heat. There is also a shower room / toilet on this floor.Bianca, the neighbour’s lovely cat, will pay regular visits if you let her (we did!).Good base for Colmar, Strasbourg, Vosges Mountains and Europapark.

Property was very comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for a great holiday. Pierre was very helpful and on hand for any problems or advice about the area. A lovely, quiet location and very convenient to explore Alsace.

This is a wonderful apartment situated inside a barn, and it is charming. It was a great get away for my family (5 people). We enjoyed exploring the area and Pierre was a most gracious host. We highly recommend this property and hope to return again some day.

We had a great time here. The space is imaginatively used, with a modern apartment created above a spacious barn area (good for relaxing), fronting onto a garden. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable. Baldenheim itself is quiet with a good bakery but we fiund it easy to travel across southern Alsace, focusing on the wine route villages and Selestat; with a few outings into Germany. Friendly and efficient hosting. We hope to be back.

The pictures depict the property well. It was clean, tidy peaceful and very relaxing. the house was fully equipped ( even bikes) and very accessible, very inviting and warm, with real wood and character. Even though the owner was not there, her daughter took charge and helped out to the max. she was kind friendly and very warm to us. We highly recommend.

Gite Vassili is a charming place located in a pretty rural village in the Alsace region. The owners are very helpful and speak excellent English, as well as leave you to enjoy your stay. The Gite is incredibly well stocked of everything you could possibly need without being cluttered, the kitchen was better stocked than ours at home and we had everything we needed for our young daughter including the use of a beautiful traditional wooden highchair and shortly after we arrived a basket of toys & a playmat arrived for her to play with too, which was a lovely touch. Just a small note for tall people would be with regard to the 2 double rooms which are upstairs and have sloping roofs. The Gites location gives you easy access to the beautiful wine route villages as well as wonderful Colmar and a bit further Strasbourg. Chateau du Haut-Koenigsbourg is worth a visit too while you're enjoying a trip into the mountains. Our favourite Christmas markets were the medieval one in Ribeauville which was a unique experience (check the dates for this one as I think it only runs on the first 2 weekends in December) and magical Colmar! We'd definitely recommend this place for anytime of year. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

A very well-maintained and comfortable place to stay. It is above all our expectations. We have enjoyed our week-long stay very much. The town is nicely located and very convenient for exploring the region. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We will be happy recommend it to all our friends.

Wir waren 2 Paare im August im Elsaß. Heißes Wetter, welches durch Klimaanlagen im großen offenen Wohnzimmer und in den beiden Schlafzimmern auf Wunsch gemildert wurde. Abends draußen im dann abkühlen Garten Sterne sehen - für Großstädter was ganz tolles. Zum Haus, Fewo selbst: Küche gut ausgestattet, alles was man braucht vorhanden und funktioniert (mit Spülmaschine). Wozi und Schlafzi. wie gesagt mit Klima, Betten bequem (französische, ohne Trennlinie); für Bettwäsche die Maße beachten oder eigenes mitbringen. 2 Bäder mit Dusche+WC, im unteren mit Waschmaschine, alles in bester Ordnung. Grill vorhanden (ausgiebig genutzt), großer Tisch unter der Scheunenveranda zum draußen Essen - perfekt. Parkplatz sozusagen unter dem Wohnzimmer, also überdacht - perfekt für den Motorradbesuch! Lage: Mitten im Elsaß bei Selestat. Alles mit dem Auto bequem erreichbar (ohne allerdings eher nicht zu empfehlen). Weinstraße, Vogesen, Straßbourg, Mulhouse - alles in unter oder um die 30 min. zu erreichen. Vermieter: Super. Selten so liebe Menschen getroffen. Bemühten sich sehr um uns, hatten Ausflugstipps, Einkaufstipps, immer freundlich und gutgelaunt. Fazit: Erholsamer Urlaub in schöner Gegend mit gutem Essen und sehr lieben Vermietern. Wir kommen wieder!
