The hotel is quite new and so the building itself was large, airy and clean. Signage was predominantly in English and it had the feel of being part of a large chain of international style hotels. Staff did their best to help if we had any questions and they were especially helpful when we needed taxis.
Barely any of the staff spoke any English - which seemed out of keeping with the very 'international' look of the hotel. They nevertheless did their best to try and understand what we needed. The TV for example - a state of the art smart TV was set up completely in Thai - so it was next to impossible to get to function (not that we use TVs much in hotels - but as it had netflix my daughter wanted to watch a film together one evening.) Also I like to have the opportunity to watch an English language news channel - but there was none.
Breakfast was as expected in other Thai hotels - an eclectic mix of Thai/Chinese style food and a nod to western tastes - but despite the latest hotplate equipment none of them were switched on - so both mornings the food was stone cold unless you had something cooked to order. Nobody appeared to be checking on what food had run out (including coffee) so you just had to have whatever was left (this was a full hour before the end of breakfast service times). When the 'hot milk' ran out, the waitress simply refilled a percolator jug with cold milk and put it on a hotplate to warm up!
There is a small (very cold!) swimming pool with a nice cafe/bar area but this was unmanned - it would have been nice to have been able to buy drinks or snacks there. All in all it felt as if someone had built a brand new hotel with great facilities and equipment and then plonked a team of not-quite trained staff into it. With some really good training in customer service (ability rather than just willingness) and a little more English it would be quite a gem for the area, very close to Future Park and within easy reach of Don Mueang Airport.
