About this house rental
Nestled in the Uwharrie National Forest this lakefront home offers
breathtaking sunsets and peaceful quiet mornings. We are a Green home, producing our power via solar panels during the day and to keep our costs down. This is a smoke free home. There are three spacious bedrooms on the upper level with a large full bath. Two bedrooms have a breathtaking lake view. On the lake level is the gathering room, kitchen and another full bath opening to a grandiose stone wrap around porch. A large boat dock and wading area in the lake compliment any level of swimmer. A canoe is available to enjoy fishing and the serenity of the lake's 115 miles of shoreline. bring your bait the fish are biting. Great house, close proximity to uwharrie OHV trails and the zoo. We were able to fit 3 trucks, trailers and rock crawlers between the driveways. Would definitely recommend to any larger groups staying in the area! Only recommendation for the hosts would be make the upper door a lockable entrance door so you could avoid the stairs when possible!

This was our 3rd stay at this beautiful lake house. It never disappoints! Everything is as described and the owners are so easy to work with. We will be back for many more vacations to come! Thank you Lorin!

Upon our arrival, the inside of the home looked clean and welcoming. Once inside we noticed a layer of dust (not pollen) on the bedroom nightstands and across the top of the kitchen stove. There were cigarette butts left in the ashtray near the back porch entry door and an uncapped cleaning spray left on the dresser in one of the bedrooms. On the 6th day of our stay smelly damp rags were discovered left inside the washing machine.
The top driveway was covered with at least a 3 foot high pile of leaves that my husband initially raked with his feet so we could park in the driveway without the car catching the leaves on fire. Afterwards we found a rake and cleared the driveway ourselves.
Discovering there was no dishwasher was a huge let down. My mistake for not seeing this before renting. Relying on guests to thoroughly clean their own dirty dishes is a huge responsibility on the vacationing guests. The first mug we pulled from the cupboard was disgustingly dirty. We headed to the nearest Dollar General and bought a service for four dish set and silverware so we are guaranteed to have clean dishes during our stay.
The great room furniture consists of two futons, equivalent to dorm room comfort, and a wicker chair. Beds upstairs are comfortable. Showers have nice water flow and hot water. Both bathrooms are updated and were clean.
We used the rental for lodging only so we are unable to comment on fishing, swimming or boating activities. The home is relaxing and quiet. It would be a great place for large gatherings.
