Villa in Fornalutx With Private Pool and Stunning Mountain Views, near Soller

Ca' Penelope was everything we hoped it would be for our first family holiday with young grandkids involved. It seems harsh to point out any negatives however reviews are meant to be informative. The parking/drop off situation is challenging but we managed ok with 2 young kids but it should be something you consider. But it should not put you off this amazing oasis just outside the cutest town (Fornalutx) which had everything we needed. Soller is a short, but lively, drive away and that offers the big town stuff if you need a bit more than the local village offers. Our dealings with Jenny were superb. She could not have been more helpful with information throughout the whole process. The house itself is great. Huge bedrooms with AC that actually works and was very much needed during our stay. The kitchen was really well equipped and everything we needed with 2 young children. There are lots of levels in the house for the youngsters and oldies to navigate but again it was not a problem The pool is amazing. We were worried about the narrow surrounds but it wasn't a problem. We became very skilled at creating shade from the harsh sun using 2 good sized umbrellas. But from around 5pm there was good shade created by an adjacent hedge/wall. The mountains backdrop from the pool is pretty special as well.This is a unique property that comes with some challenges, but its definitely worth the effort.

Cas Penelope is a beautiful property sat within a short walking distance of Fornalutx. We visited as a family of 6 and were blown away by the facilities, pool and garden. Jenny was very communicative and made the process feel very personalised. She left a generous welcome basket and gave a detailed walkthrough of the property including some lovely recommendations to eat out. She was keen to assist on parking, the only minor difficulty in such a small town, and made the check in very smoothe. If you’re looking for a quiet holiday home with access to lovely breakfast options (Correl-la cafe/ forn de barri) and lots of dining options for the evening… this is your next holiday! If you read this and decide to visit, make sure to give the next door neighbours dog (Hash) a pat for me!

We stayed for a week at the end of October and were pleasantly surprised that the weather was still warm enough for swimming in the pool and in the sea. Fornalutx is one of the prettiest towns on the island, and we loved being within easy walking distance of the square and the excellent bakery.

This property more than lived up to the online photos and previous reviews by other travellers. This is a very special place to stay and we were extremely lucky to find Cas Penelope after countless nights of trying to find just the right type of villa to suit everyone in the groups needs.Jenny was fantastic and her communication amazing. She was extremely helpful in recommending a restaurant for my mums special 60th meal, that would suit everyone from 70-4 yrs.Every bedroom within the villa anyone would be happy to stay in. They are magnificent. The children really appreciated the variety of toys and dvds, which were also a welcome midday distraction from the sun. Towels were also in abundance and greatly appreciated.I would also like to note the surrounding area from a group perspective as well. We were a group of 8 adults and 3 children spanning 3 generations. The villa is situated just on the outsirkts of the most beautiful mountain village/small town, about a 5 min drive from the soller and 7 min drive to port soller which served us very well for beach days. The village of fornaluxt offers everything you would need for a week’s stay without venturing any further. The spar shop in the centre of the village is extremely well stocked and it really isn’t worth the drive down into soller to visit the Eroski supermarket. Fornaluxt also has around 10 cafes/restaurants which are all very good but both the pizza restaurant and the Majorcan restaurant opposite were our favourite. If we didn’t require a larger property next year I would have no propblem returning annually. My mind and body were at peace in the surroundings of this beautiful house.Thank you Jenny for all your care and attention to detail
