Bob's Bach by the Beach

Good family bach a few minutes away from the beach by foot and Dairy nearby. Open plan kitchen lounge patio flow which was great for meals in. Kitchen very well set up for china and pans etc. unfortunately the outdoors pizza oven was well weathered & rusty

Lovely relaxed property, awesome location walk to beach or Blackies. Great deck area, well-stocked kitchen, 2 bathrooms. Great bedding configuration.

Overall giving this place/experience an average review, as there was so much good about it, + sooo much that needs to be improved. To start with the good.... The location is simply amazing, just outside of town a 1 minute drive or 10 minute walk. 30 seconds to the beach. Center of everything for surf and beach. The house itself is super cute, and has a fantastic layout. Kids on one side of the house and adults on the other side. Loved this. Open floor plan, large open windows and doors, huge front yard to run around, tons of stocked beach toys and bbq accessories, the bbq and pizza oven. This place just has so much going for it. Now the bad... And I must start by saying -- this trip almost didnt happen as the property manager CANCELLED on me, the morning of my reservation, during a cyclone!! Was a frantic morning of back and forth and waiting, only to end up staying at the house. Thank god we had a place to stay, but what a terrible 'welcome' and check in. Now the house -- HOLY FLYS!!!! Bugs, flys, mosquitoes, you name it, just everywhere. A big draw of this house is there are 2 fell walls of windows/doors in the kitchen & living room that can be opened, but good lord are there a ton of flys everywhere. We could not kill enough of them, and eventually kept the doors closed which was a bummer. This also had nothing to do with the trash, which is not enclosed in the house, as they were honestly everywhere but the trash - the floors, the windows, the coffee table, the counter tops, you name it. Overall made me think the house just needs a real deep cleaning. Now the list of broken things around the house.... Both shower doors were broken, with 1 being completely unusable throughout our stay and the second barely usable. The sliding doors previously mentioned are not sealed correctly, so during a rain water comes inside the house. The outside umbrella was broken and completely unusable, so no shade on the lovely outdoor deck the entire time. The wall heaters either dont work to emit any heat AT ALL, or get lava hot and will scold you upon touching it. Also note they sit at about 2.5ft in height, or perfect for an adult to burn their hands, and a child to burn their face. DO NOT USE THESE. This house is fantastic but just seems like it has been used and abused over the years and in need of some serious upkeep. If they did, i would stay here again, but in the same condition i would not. Just hope they dont cancel on you
