The Boat House has a fully equipped kitchen, modern bathroom, cable TV, free WI-FI, washing machine, dryer, highchair and cot.

To access the Boat House, you must walk 200m along a gravel path along the river. There is a luggage trolley at the Boat House you can use.

Accessible from Interlaken Ost train station by either an enjoyable 30 minute walk or 5 minutes bike ride along the Aare river. There is also public parking just 2 minutes away (CHF 4.- per day).

We had the best stay in this little boat house. Be prepared - it’s a 20 minute walk from the train station down a gravel path, so rolling suitcases would be a challenge. We only had backpacks and were fine. The views were UNBELIEVABLE. Insanely beautiful, cozy little house.

The view is spectacular with a 20min walk into centre. But its a lovely walk along the river. The bed is a Double a So can be abit small than what youre used to. The shower is small, but weve fou d thay in alot of europe. Kitchen was good, but the oven takes along time to cook oven fries. I would stay here again even with bed being small. First, the views from this property are incredible, there is no denying that. But, the views from anywhere in Interlaken are incredible. The listing is accurate, but there are a few things that would keep me from ever coming back. First, this is easily a 35 minute walk from the train station and 1/2 the walk is on gravel that roller luggage can’t be pulled on. I did message the host to verify taxis would be available, which she assured me there was, but there isn’t. This is the same walk you’ll have to take into town everytime you go, so at least an hour round trip. Also, maybe it’s just me, but the directions to get to the house were atrocious. Then the rules of the house. I am an incredibly tidy person but the 12 page book of house rules, including being responsible for bringing the garbage to the dumpster a half mile away before you leave is annoying to say the least. I mean there is a cleaning fee, shouldn’t it be covered under that. Last thing, the shower is TINY! Like can barely fit your whole body in tiny. Overall, I think there are so many places closer in to Interlaken, so if you have roller luggage, or are only staying for a few days, look somewhere else.

The property is very charming. It had everything you needed. The shower was a little small, but it did not take away the fantastic location and the beautiful patio. It was quiet and very relaxing. It's a nice 15 minute walk into town or to the train station. Would stay here again. Great communication and the explanation on how to get there was perfect.

What a special location along the river leading to Lake Brienz. We're a couple and it suited us just fine. It has a well equipped small kitchen and bathroom, wonderful little balcony to relax on. We walked into town each day. We chose the alternate rout to go to Ost and town via the train trestle bridge that leads to a sloping trail to a nice paved path riverside to Ost and the Boats that cruise Lake Brienz. We had such a lovely two nights in this property. The location is right on the river and it's about 15 minutes walking along the river to Interlaken. The views are incredible and genuinely are as advertised. Perfect for a couple wanting to explore the area.

Are you looking for a small, cozy home with everything you need, an amazing view, and walking paths? Don't look any further! I think I spent all of my time on the balcony enjoying the breeze and stunning view of the mountains. The kitchen has everything you might need, although we brought our own coffee machine since we drove from NL. There are grocery stores nearby, and the town of Interlaken about 15 minutes walking distance. We had great luck with the weather and were able to jump in the water and swim just out in the front of the house. There were only two things that made our stay slightly less then perfect: the shower is very small, but the water pressure is brilliant. Prepare to have a great shower but feel slightly claustrophobic. Also the bed might not be the best for those with a bad back. I was fine and slept wonderfully, but my partner didn't sleep well on the bed. All in all, the location and the view/balcony made everything worth it, this was the perfect little home.

The apartment is light and clean with the most amazing outlook over the river Aare and the mountains. This is a small apartment with a very small shower room, but the layout is functional and practical. There is a well equipped kitchen, but again it is a small space so preparing a meal can be a challenge. This apartment is a 25 minute walk from Interlaken Ost station. We were provided with directions in German to show to the taxi driver (very useful). The nearest supermarket is close to the station and well stocked. The stop for the Postbus is approx 1/2km but uphill and very steep. What makes this apartment, is the view and the very quiet location. The veranda has a stunning view and I could have sat there all day watching the boats, water craft and birds sailing past. We had a wonderfully, relaxing week at The Boathouse, and if you are prepared for the walk to the station/supermarket then I can think of no better location to stay in.

My wife and I stayed at the Boat House for 3 nights and really loved it. Juliet provided great instructions for arriving there by car and we had no issues finding it, even as first time Switzerland drivers. Everything was well kempt, clean, and the bicycles were a huge help in getting into town with ease! We actually found a free walking tour with a great guide in one of the brochures in the Boat House and it was that tour that set up the rest of our excursions while in Interlaken. For 2 small to medium sized individuals, the Boat House is perfect getaway with a fantastic view of the Aare River and the surrounding Swiss Alps. Had a wonderful time...thanks! Jake

Basically one room with a separate shower room which is probably the smallest you'll ever encounter (the shower tray is not much bigger than a sink and by time the shower curtain has clung to you, you'd struggle to swing a mouse let alone a cat). The kitchen area includes pretty much everything you could need, a couple of large wardrobes give plenty of space to store things, and a full length balcony is just wide enough to sit out on with a couple of chairs and table. Beneath the apartment is a storage area with a washing machine which is also used by a resident in the apartments next door (the cleaner?). The lower terrace is also used by that same family.The rental was very clean and bright (lots of windows) with blinds to provide privacy (although will not block out the early morning light from outside if you need black out curtains to allow for undisturbed sleep). A bedside light would have been useful as you had to turn the lights out by the door then make your way to the bed in the dark.The thing that sells this apartment is the view which gives you 180 degree views of the river and mountains (although not the Jungfrau etc.). It was lovely to watch the boats, canoes, paddle boarders and even swimmers (it was exceptionally hot when we were there).What let down our stay was the condition of the bicycles. We knew and were happy the apartment is 20 minutes from Ost station but it is probably a further 15 to 20 minutes into the centre of town/West Station/Unterseen where all the better restaurants are. As a result, we were relying to use the bikes in the evening to go out for dinner and to return to the rental. However, the bikes are not safe to use; the gears don't work, the seat on the larger bike is broken, there are no front/rear lights provided for night use and they are very rickety. Therefore, we could not use them which entailed a long walk in and back each night. Luckily we had great weather and an extra 2 miles each way walk wasn't too much of a problem. However, if the weather had been wet, it would have been very different.Although we enjoyed our stay, mainly because the weather was on our side, I wouldn't book here again.

My husband and I would highly recommend the boat house to anyone interested in staying in Interlaken. It is hands down the best place we could have imagined to stay. As soon as we arrived we were in awe over the breathtaking views. Although it is not directly in town, we took the bikes along the river and were there within 5 minutes and loved every second of the scenic ride. We had the best of both worlds, a beautiful ride to town, and our own personal secluded house with the best views in Interlaken. It was the first stop of our honeymoon and the best stop! It is absolutely perfect for a couple looking to have a romantic holiday. The accommodations were terrific, Juliet made sure we were in good hands. I have nothing but positive things to say about the boat house. If you are contemplating the boat house over a hotel in town, choose the boat house!!! We would not have wanted our stay in Interlaken any other way!! Thank you to Juliet for making Interlaken so memorable for us!!

We had a wonderful time during our stay at the Boat House in Interlaken! The apartment is small, but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is even a washer and dryer in the basement of the apartment. The apartment is located right on the river and has unbelievable views of the surrounding mountains from inside and especially from the balcony. We managed to walk from the train station to the apartment with our luggage in about 20 minutes. It can be difficult since the path along the river is stone, but it wasn't too bad for us. There is no parking at the boat house, so a taxi would need to drop you off at the parking lot a few hundred feet down the path. The bikes provided with the apartment made subsequent trips back into Interlaken and around town very easy. The owner was very easy to deal with, always being available for questions or concerns. She provided a great package of suggestions and left us a bottle of wine as well! I would recommend the apartment for active couples who want to be away from the center of town and enjoy the quiet nights on the river. We cant wait to come back to Interlaken again!

What a stop. It´s location on the riverbank was only 20 minutes walk from Interlaken OST station and is perfect for day trips. We stayed during winter and absolutely loved the cosy feel to the place, also the central heating was very good. The Boat House is compact, but was well equipped and suited our needs perfectly. The host was very easy to deal with and even though we never met, everything was as described. The information folder provided was very handy and answered any questions we had. Just perfect and we hope to come back again soon.

We found the Boat House perfect for what we wanted. It is comfortable and quiet. It is compact but has everything we needed for 2 people and is well equipped. The best thing is definitely the fantastic balcony and amazing view that this provides. We spent nearly all our time on the balcony for breakfast, dinner and relaxation. The bikes were really appreciated too, great for getting into the town and train station. We stayed for a week and will be back for sure.

My husband and I stayed at the Boat House in June 2014 and it was absolutely brilliant. The provisioning of the property has been carefully considered and everything guests could possibly require has been anticipated and provided for. Outstanding customer service as well. The Accommodation: Charming, clean, and well-equipped, the Boat House consists of 2 floors. The ground floor is purely utilitarian - storage for the bicycles, etc. and where the washer and dryer are located. The top floor is the living accomodation in a studio flat style. The kitchenette is well-equipped and perfectly suited to cooking meals for two (which I recommend doing as it's extortionate to eat out in Interlaken). The bathroom is tiny, but perfectly functional and clean. There is a flatscreen TV and free wifi. There were even candles and blankets for sitting outside on the balcony. That view at sunset with a glass of wine...yes please! The carpark had plenty of spaces available and was inexpensive. Note that the property is not right next to the carpark, it's a few minutes walk on a gravel path alongside the gorgeous river. The Location: Right on the river, you cannot beat that view. It's roughly a 20 minute walk to the main part of Interlaken and around 10 minute walk to the train station and supermarket via the railway bridge. The location was perfect for my husband and I - tranquil, peaceful, private, yet close enough that we could walk everywhere. You are certainly not isolated. There are guests staying all along the river there, but in far fewer numbers than the tourist bee hive that is the town center. Someone else mentioned noise from the train in their review - it wasn't an issue for us, we never even noticed it! Customer Service: Superb. Upon entering the Boat House for the first time, we found a bottle of wine and a hand-written welcome card. And the hospitality didn't stop there. Juliet, who manages the Boat House, is an absolute star. When our car battery turned up dead on the second day of our stay, she dropped everything she was doing and sped to our rescue. She certainly went above and beyond for us. All in all, we were incredibly pleased with our time at the Boat House. During our stay we found ourselves constantly praising the property, amenities, host, location, and of course - the views! It is truly a little diamond in the rough. If Interlaken is ever again in our future, so too will be a stay at the Boat House. Highly recommend.

Even though this is a small cabin (small shower, buy very functional) it worked perfectly for us (a couple). its location on the riverbank only 20 minutes walk from Interlaken OST station is perfect for day trips. Don't miss taking the train up to the jungfrau if visiting in winter. Also the central heating was very good (nice and warm), as it was very cold during our week stay in January. Also don't forget to use the shutters to stop outside noise from the railway bridge (also can cross over the railway bridge for another nice walk via the other side of the river into town). The host was very easy to deal with via email initially and even though we never meet everything was as described and just perfect to allow us to wind down after a busy year. Small but clean and well equipped apartment with lovely views over the river to the mountains, enjoyed from the private balcony. I will definitely return, Juliet was very helpful, there are 2 free bikes for the 5 min ride to town centre (20 min walk along river). Day trips to the mountains are really easy by train (and absolutely recommended, the wild flowers are a must see!), a car is not at all necessary.

Le lieu correspond à la description. C est tranquille , très agréable, la vue est magnifique et reposante. C est un peu petit, mais même à 3 c était bien. Le parking à voiture est à150m mais il y a une cariole pour les bagages. Aller au centre ville en vélo n est qu une formalité , sauf pour la petite remorque pour enfant qui est bien abîmée .Nous avons également regretté l absence d un 2 eme kayak pour faire un tour ensemble. A part ce détail, c était parfait.

The boat house is a very cosy place near the river. There was plenty of information about what to do in the region (fantastic hiking), the apartment is very clean and it is well equipped for cooking. The only downside was that we are a couple with a small baby and the apartment was a bit small for the three of us (difficult to walk with a baby bed in the middle of the living room). The apartment is perfect for a couple though and we did appreciate that there was a high chair for baby. Also it has to be noted that there is a 300 m walk from the parking to the apartment which is a bit annoying with all the luggages. Interlaken was a fantastic place for hiking, we had a blast. It is just a shame that it is such an expensive country.
