Ocean Cottage - Waterfront Property on Penobscott Bay w/ 2 Decks & Private Beach

After many years of utilizing vacation rentals this property would be very near the top of our list. The owner has thought of everything and is readily available to provide information on anything in the nearby communities such as where to dine and shop. This property was very clean and the online information is accurate. The only thing that future renters should be made aware of is that there are some stairs to get from where you must park your vehicle to get to the front door. Nothing to be concerned about for most people but if going up and/or down stairs is an issue, just be aware. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this cottage and would highly recommend it.

Clean, fully equipped with everything convenience. Our Host thought of everything we made need in advance to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ocean Cottage. Everything was perfect. The beds were comfortable, view amazing, kitchen was well supplied. We especially enjoyed watching the birds from the back deck, including loons, warblers and even an eagle. It was great having the air conditioner because we needed it at least one day. We enjoyed exploring Belfast and other nearby towns. David was a great host, we would love to stay again!

Ocean Cottage in Northport, ME truly deserves a five star rating. Located directly on Penobscot Bay the sunrise is spectacular. It is on a lightly traveled road providing a peaceful setting. The exterior is well maintained and appealing, with a large deck facing the bay and a small deck at beach level to enjoy the water and watch the changing of the tide.The interior is equally appealing, extremely clean, and nicely decorated. The entire house is well equipped with everything you could need. The kitchen is especially very well equipped with everything we needed when we decided to forgo a restaurant meal and cook for ourselves. The bed was very comfortable and waking to see the sunrise through the bedroom window was an extra perk. We did have one rainy day and staying inside was very comfortable and we could still watch the rain on the bay.We visited two State Parks nearby for hiking and sightseeing. We toured the town of Belfast, an old harbor town with several good restaurants and a well maintained Harbor Walk. The picturesque town of Camden with many shops and restaurants is a short drive away. We also took two trips to Acadia National Park, an hour and a half drive away. Just spending a day relaxing at the house was also a treat.David, the owner, provided details about the house and the area and he responds quickly to any questions. The condition and cleanliness of the house shows that David takes pride in his cottage. He also has taken extra measures to clean and provide single use items where practical to make you feel safe during your stay. We found the people in the area to be cautious and accommodating, so we felt totally safe.
