About this villa rental
Casa Mercatale is a lovely villa with beautiful terracotta tiles and beamed ceilings. The villa consists of 530 sqm of living space divided into two floors, and sleeps 10 guests in five bedrooms. With the use of the dependence , the villa can sleep up to 12 guests. All bedrooms have air conditioning. The fenced property consists of 10,000 sqm and includes the house (530 sqm), the pool (open May 1 – Sept 30) with Jacuzzi.
A typical rough dirt road (1200 meters) leads to the home, meandering through vineyards and olive groves. The house began its history a 1000 years ago as a small monastery and evolved into a country home some centuries later. Completely restored in 2006, the location couldn’t be better: private, tranquil position on a hillside just 5 minutes (2 km) from Mercatale Val di Pesa, 15 minutes south of Florence, with easy access to the charming Chianti hill towns, 50 minutes from Siena, and 1 hour from Lucca.
On the ground floor there is a spacious dining area with a table for 12 people. On the left of the dining room there is a nice living room where 4 steps lead to an additional room. The additional room is a bedroom with a queen bed and ensuite bathroom. Also off of the living room area is the carefully designed, fully-equipped kitchen. A study/Satellite TV room and guest WC completes the ground floor.
The spacious upper floor has a central living room with three sofas and a working fireplace set along one wall. There are 3 double bedrooms each with ensuite bathrooms and a large master bedroom with a decorative fireplace and ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi tub.
In the basement is a laundry room with washer, dryer, ironing board, and iron.
Outside there is a stone patio with a BBQ. The patio is covered and provides shade for al fresco dining. From here some steps take you to the stunning fresh-water pool with Jacuzzi. The pool area is furnished with sun-beds, tables and chairs with umbrellas.
Maid service is daily (3 hrs/day Monday - Saturday). Parking is available on the property. Upon request and approval of the owner a late arrival is possible between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm for an extra fee of 50 euros.
