About this house rental
My home is a three minute drive to art, culture, great restaurants and family-friendly activities. Just across the Gervais street bridge, less than two blocks to the river front park, sits our Bungalow. In a safe, quiet, convenient, neighborhood called New Brookland.
Our 100 year old charmer will take you back in time with the original hardwood floors, hand laid beadboard ceilings, and the hand crafted moldings. But with all new modern luxuries. The house has been completely updated with a new eat in open airy kitchen. With marble counters, a farm house sink, natural gas stove, wine and beverage fridge. The bath has a tile floor and a tub- shower combo. There are three of the five original fireplaces. But the best is the outdoor pool, with its tranquil fountains. There is a covered pergola, equiped with: frefrigerator, sink, television(summer), ceiling fans, and natural gas fireplace and natural gas grill. One flip of the switch and there you are relaxing on the outdoor sofa, while enjoying the cozy fire.
Inside you will find two bedrooms, both furnished with nice luxury linens, and original fireplaces. One bedroom has a king bed, and the other has a queen. The sunroom has a twin daybed for additional guest.
There is convenient on sight parking, privacy fenced back yard, and a covered front porch with rocking chairs. The neighborhood is a great place to take a stroll along the large oaks, just minutes to restaurants and local shops. From art, luxury consignments, day spas, and grocery.

The host was very welcoming, and I appreciated that she gave me some very helpful information about a sweet local cat that likes to hang around the exterior of the property. My son and I are allergic to cats so generally we are not cat people, but Tom Kitty was so friendly and personable that we would go out back just to spend time with him - he was our favorite part about the house! The house itself has been nicely renovated and feels very cozy. It appears there are still some minor cosmetic things to complete, but those things didn't bother us at all. A couple things I will say is first, some of the extras left for guest use were surprising either with what was or wasn't there, and also how it was organized. For instance, there were koozies in a few different kitchen/pantry drawers, and I would expect those would generally all be kept together in one place. Also, despite the kitchen being well-equipped with almost everything we needed, there was not a pizza pan or pizza cutter that we could find. Secondly, the pool needed some attention if it was going to be used. The weather was too cold for us to use it, and we didn't expect to be able to going in November, but just be sure to ask for the pool to be serviced prior to arrival if you are planning to use it. Overall, the hostess was great and the house really is a nice space and definitely conveniently located in West Columbia! I would stay again.

This is a beautiful home, with an inviting outdoor area and pool. The beds are very comfortable and furnishings very attractive. Very convenient to Columbia and UofSC. Loved our stay here.
