About this house rental
This former wine warehouse has been tastefully and completely renovated, offering a comfortable holiday destination for up to 6 guests. Set in a hamlet above the picturesque village of Daglan, you will appreciate the fabulous views over the surrounding walnut groves and the valley beyond.
Interior Description:

A glazed entrance door opens directly into the open plan kitchen.
* Fully equipped with oven, hob, dishwasher, kettle, coffee machine and all the necessary pots and pans for preparing some local produce.
* a couple of steps lead to the open plan living room, with windows looking over the pool and garden and exposed beams. The living area offers sofas, armchairs, a flat screen TV with French and English channels. A dining table seats 8.
* From the living room a door leads to the twin bedroom with wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps.
From the landing between the kitchen and the lounge, another couple of steps lead to:
* The master bedroom with large double bed (160cm wide), with exposed stone walls and beams, wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps. It also has a private shower cubicle in the room.
From the kitchen a small flight of stairs leads to the third and final bedroom:
* Also offering a large double bed (160cm wide), a private toilet and washbasin in the room, wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps, and a glazed door giving direct access to the garden.

Although Le Chai is part of a large property, the pool, terrace and garden are situated at the rear of the house, where the views are magnificent, and there is no other property overlooking the gite!
* The large private pool is heated from May to September, and is equipped with an electric cover for the childrens safety.
* A pergola gives shade to the terrace, with its dining table and chairs.
* The large grassed garden offers plenty of space for games and has a table tennis table.

We spent a week in July and it was wonderful. The property is a few minutes drive from Daglan which is well positioned to get to many beautiful spots in the region such as Domme, Beynac and Sarlat. I took my bike and enjoyed a ride together with Pierre from next door who offered to show me around for a 40km ride. As the property is on top of a hill, the rides always start going downhill and finish coming back up, with some routes very steep!We cooked at the property using the BBQ most evenings, enjoying the wonderful food from local shops. We had everything we needed.The house has great space with good sized rooms. 1 twin and 2 double rooms. The main double has a shower in the room itself.We had a warm welcome and were met when we arrived and departed and communication was good both through the agency and the owner. Would love to visit again and recommend to others! The only thing we would change would be to have slightly better weather as it was unusually cool and rainy for our week!

We stayed at this lovely property for 12 nights. It was extremely relaxing and Pierre and his wife were lovely people. I would highly recommend the house and the area to anyone wishing for a relaxing break. However, the holiday did not start well which was no fault at all of Pierre. I phoned to say that we were arriving on the Sunday, however Pierre doesn't speak any English. We phoned serval times on the way down to say we were running late. An English lady from the agency phoned me to help us make our way there. However, she was extremely rude and I was told that it was Sunday evening at 10pm and we were expected yesterday and that she could really not be doing with this on her day off!! I was quite disgusted with her attitude and if I were Pierre and would be changing Agent! I run my own holiday lets and I would never speak to my guests like that!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the barn is full of charcter, (just mind your head if you use the upstairs bedroom) The location is very peaceful, surrounded by walnut trees. Lovely pool, but still close to the delightful village of Daglan, with a convenience store and a couple of restaurants. Lots to see in the area, no shortage of good food & wine. Beynac definitely worth a visit, (Chances are you will pass through it if you are travelling from Bergerac). Also don't miss Sarlat. Very freindly owners living next door. The directions we were given were easy to follow, and we found the property with ease. We will very likely return!
