105 Kasbah de Boujloud Fes Morocco.

We were met by the brother of the riad manager, a kind and helpful person. The riad has several rooms and our room was small but sufficient for our stay. The bathroom had a shower with hot water. The location is good, as it is on the edge of the old medina, just a minute walk form it, yet not right inside it, avoiding much of the noise and crowds. There is a tiny kitchen, which we used a few times for tea and cooking, which we appreciated. There is also a washing machine that guests may use, which is also very useful. The best thing with the whole stay was the fortunate fact that none of the other rooms (3 or 4) were occupied during our whole stay, leaving the place fully for our use.

While our stay was overall ok, there are several points that could be improved. A certain difficulty ensued on our arrival due to communication problems with our host, which resulted in us driving around and looking for the place, which is impossible to find without host’s help (it’s not where the Google map pin points you and locals are not sure either). If you are arriving with a car, note that there your nearby parking choices are either a modern, new, convenient and expensive lot or a more ‘traditional’ small lot, which is not for the faint of heart as one needs to navigate narrow manoeuvres among parked cars. A local experience, for sure! Unfortunately, the toilet was not well cleaned and had clear brown marks from the previous guests. Additionally, the shower’s drain was very clogged, resulting in poor draining of water. I ended up taking out the plug and cleaning it, as it had lots of hair and dirt stuck to it. It didn’t take long, but cleaning other people’s hair and waste is not something I’d like to do on holidays. Unfortunately, the roof-top balcony that can be seen in the photos is not usable in most of the winter months as it is open and roof-less and, hence, cold and wet.

The owner / employee were both really cute and welcoming. They made sure we had everything we wanted and then left us alone (but not without making sure we had the WiFi and his phone number in case we needed something) it’s right next to the old medina (and on the good side, the side towards the new part of town). Price / quality : 10/10

The only thing is that it’s hard to find. It’s best to have contact with them before hand. Otherwise you should follow the sign of Dar Nour. Which is about next to it. (And then it’s the door with 105 on it)

Para acceder mejor no entrar por la puerta azul de la Medina sino por otra puerta secundaria que da acceso a Boujloud. Mejor llamar por teléfono para que os indiquen como llegar. Buscábamos algo económico para descansar y salir pronto para el aeropuerto.

Estuvimos en diciembre y hacía frío, la calefacción es un pequeño calefactor de aire. La ropa de cama es mejorable pero por el precio tampoco se puede exigir más.

Muy bien ubicado, a un minuto de la Blue Gate, en la parte exterior del Boujloud. Las calles para acceder son muy auténticas y muuuuy tranquilas, algo que parece increíble estando tan cerca de toda la zona turística. A un paso de todas las salidas de las excursiones al desierto, y de restaurantes y todos los servicios. La habitación es básica, pero suficiente. Ducha y aseo privado. El personal muy amable y atento en todo momento. Muy Buena relación calidad precio.

No es fácil de encontrar, lo mejor es quedar con el propietario en la farmacia de Boujloud, y él os acompaña.
