What a great place lovely friendly staff who couldn’t be more helpful.
Our mattress was well past being replaced. The shower was very poor and was only lukewarm warm. I am sure this was an issue with room 7 as our cousins staying in another room were more than happy.

Good location, close to the Roman Army Museum, which is worth a visit, and Hadrian's wall, there are a few other pubs in the town which we visited and seemed pleasant, along with a useful convenience store, Coop, and a Sainsburys. The staff were friendly and pleasant, we ate here in the evening and the food was decent. The room was a small twin (travelling with my son) and was fine for our stay.

Arrived 16.00 told restaurant closed at 17.00, 16.45 asked for menu only to be told kichen had closed!! Stay there last year standards seem to have dropped e.g. bacon very hard kept in oven to stay warm?
