Nice and cozy house in rural surroundings

Wir waren Ende April 2022 für zwei Wochen in Vanessas Wohnung in Icod el Alto. Wir genossen die geräumige, komfortable und saubere Wohnung im zweiten Stock sehr, die Küche war bestens ausgerüstet. Gegen Abend wurde es manchmal kühl, und wir waren froh um den Holzofen im Wohnzimmer, für den uns Vanessa immer mit genügend Holz versorgte. Vanessa war immer sehr freundlich und stand uns bei allen Fragen jederzeit zur Verfügung. Trotz der Strasse vor dem Haus empfanden wir die Wohnung als ruhig; parkieren an der Strasse war nie ein Problem. Die Wohnung liegt etwas abseits vom Rummel der Touristen, Besuche von Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz und Icod de los Vinos sind leicht möglich, selbst der Vulkan Teide ist mit einem Auto sind in 1.5 Stunden erreichbar. Zudem hat Teneriffa hat ein gut ausgebildetes Bussystem. Viele schöne Wanderungen an der Küste und in den Bergen liegen in der Nähe. Ein grösseres Lebensmittelgeschäft liegt im Nachbardorf. Wir genossen unseren Aufenthalt sehr und wir können Vanessas Wohnung sehr empfehlen.

Vanessas and Domingos apartment is a perfect place to live away from mass tourism on Tenerife. We stayed there for about 3 months with our little baby daughter. The flat is spacious and clean and everything is like it is described. We stayed there between October and January and the village and flat got quite cold. There is a wooden stove to heat the living room, but especially the bedroom and bathroom got cold. So bring some thick socks and sweaters if you’re there during wintertime ;) The highlight of this apartment is Vanessa and her family who live in the same building. They helped us with everything from doctors and pharmacy visits, where to get vaccinated, to any other questions or requests we had. Even got us some heating blankets and a LOT of firewood :D they made us really feel at home. Icod El Alto is a charming little village that has some bars and some small shops for everyday groceries you can reach by foot. Larger stores or malls are in Los Realejos - about 20-30 min by car. The location of the village is good for trips to the nearby Orotava valley or beyond as well as to Icod de los Vinos or the sights in the other direction. There are some nice hiking trails as well. The only thing that bothered us a bit was the street in front of the house. Some people drive really fast, which can be in turn very loud. I can totally recommend Vanessa’s place for anyone who wants a spacious place to start trips from on Tenerife.

Fantástico apartamento. Espacioso, moderno, completo, bien ubicado y con estupendas vistas. Lugar ideal para el relax y para desconectar. Ubicación excelente, vistas relajantes. Trato exquisito de los propietarios, sabiendo estar y dando cumplidas respuestas a cualquier consulta. Perfectos anfitriones. Muy, muy aconsejable.

The flat was really nice and spacious and well equipped. However, because of its open plan nature, it was cold despite the owners lending us 2 heaters. It was up 4 flights of steep stairs so many people might find this a problem. It is also high up in the hills and access to and from other areas of the island is very difficult, even with a hire car. The owners were extremely kind and helpful
