About this farm stay rental

Bicycles available for a whole family inclusive with this modernized self contained "Gite" forms part of a typical old Stone Farmhouse, with Kitchen Diner and log burning stove. Snug room with noirot night storage heater. Upstairs double Bedroom with noirot night storage heater. Twin Bedded Room and Single room. Shower room with seperate W.C. Downstairs shower room as well. Outside there are mature gardens with high hedges enclosing the main gardens in front of the house. Old barns and ample parking.
A covered outside dining area. In the garden there is a play swing seating and covered dining area. Secluded gardens with woodland to the rear and side being an ancient quarry.

This rather isolated house was a bit hard to find at first, but it is very well situated with both privacy and sweeping views in mind. We were a bit far from the crowds celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Normandy invasion, but the drive up to the coast was only marred by the huge crowds and all of the dignitaries present for the occasion. All of the DDay beaches and principal towns were locked down for Macron, Biden and about 140 other heads of state or high office holders and the Vets who were here 80 years ago.

Wonderful property, not too far from shops or days out to sightsee but far away for peace and tranquility. Good selection of dvds for the rainy days that we stayed in, a keyboard for the children and fantastic gardens to explore. Michael, the owner was so helpful and always available if needed. Very knowledgeable on the area too. We stayed here for 10nights, comfortable beds, was a shame about the weather as we could not really sit out. On the off chance it didnt rain, there were plenty of games for the children to enjoy, and make friends with Gilbert the ginger cat! The fire was wonderful to light and made it extra cozy. We look forward to returning one day as it felt a little corner of heaven here. Came back with a family of 5 with no washing either, thanks to the machine being there and tumble dryer! Thanks Michael, we look forward to receiving the christmas card, with your fantastic artwork. Its been such a pleasure to meet you and chat to you. Thank you for having us!

Great location

A beautifull surrounding and close enough to the sea for wonderfull sunsets. St Mont Michel is only 40 minutes away, the Landing beaches within the our! A beautifull house wich is renovated and taken care of with a lot of love! The location is secluded enough for a lot of privacy. Internet and telephone coverage is pour, luckily the owner has Wifi (unfortunatly not working during our stay).

Overall we had a good holiday.

We had a lovely holiday and where work has been done it had been done well - the kitchen and bathroom were done nicely and the beds were very comfortable. But there were a few niggles: the main one being the internet which did not work following a storm the previous week and was not fixed during our stay. The details of the property need to be tightened up (e.g. there was a washing machine - not mentioned, the satellite TV only showed one channel - BBC1) and it would be better if the owner took more care to keep it all up to scratch (ensure the grass is cut regularly, keep the garden better, provide more garden chairs, provide more seating in the living room, etc). We did not see the owner at all during our stay. There are good walks in the area and a lake locally which you can walk around or do watersports (but no swimming). The nearest golf club abuts the lake and they welcome visitors. A car is needed as the nearest really good, boulangerie, is a few miles away. We gather this is a fairly new venture and when everything is in place and arrangements tightened up it will be a really lovely place. It is very quiet, the roads in the area are very quiet and everyone was very friendly.

Schönes und idyllisch gelegenes Ferienhaus

Das Ferienhaus ist idyllisch und ruhig am Ende eines Landwirtschaftsweges zwischen einem Wäldchen und einer Weide gelegen und hat einen großen, schön gestalteten und gepflegten Garten mit mehreren kleinen Nebengebäuden und einer Terrasse mit Sonnendach. Besonderes Highlight für unsere Kinder waren das Badminton-Netz (Schläger und Ball vorhanden) und der Tisch-Fußball. Das historische Haus ist ansprechend renoviert und gut ausgestattet (Küchenausstattung, TV, DVD etc.), einzig der WLAN-Empfang ist zum Teil schwierig, was uns aber nicht gestört hat. Die Lage ist ebenfalls perfekt, es gibt mehrere gute Wandermöglichkeiten in der Nähe, und das Ferienhaus bietet sich auch als Ausgangspunkt für zahlreiche Tagesausflüge (etwa zum Mont Saint Michel, nach Fougères, zu den Landungsstränden, dem Mémorial in Caen etc.) und Freizeitaktivitäten (etwa Normandie Luges) an. Wir haben ein paar sehr schöne in der Normandie verbracht und können Michaels Ferienhaus insbesondere für Familien mit Kindern wärmstens empfehlen.

Das Haus ist sehr schön. Es liegt abgeschieden von der Straße so dass es ganz ruhig ist. In einer Stunde Fahrt ist man schon am Mont St Michel. Die Ausstattung im Haus lässt keine Wünsche übrig. Hier lässt es sich wunderbar erhohlen.

We hebben enorm genoten van ons verblijf in dit huisje. De omgeving is prachtig en er was veel meer te doen dan we verwacht hadden met onze drie kinderen. Het enige en best wel belangrijke minpunt waren de meubels. Er was zowel in de woonkamer als in de keuken te weinig zitplek voor gezin van vijf. De bedden sliepen prima, maar waren wel te kort voor ons als volwassenen. Alles was al opgeknapt is, is goed gedaan en erg comfortabel. De eigenaar was vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We konden hem ten alle tijde via de mail bereiken, al hebben we dat niet nodig gehad. Hij heeft nog genoeg plannen voor verbeteringen in en om het huis. Tijdens ons verblijf heeft hij voor onze meiden een schommelset aangeschaft, waar zeer dankbaar gebruik van is gemaakt. Al met al hebben wij een hele prettige vakantie gehad, al mag er echt nog gewerkt worden aan het comfort van het huisje. Op regenachtige dagen konden we maar moeilijk gezellig samen ergens gaan zitten. En verder is dit huisje vooral aan te raden voor mensen die het niet erg vinden om helemaal afgezonderd te zitten.
