Helena terras penthouse

Wir hatten nur eine Zwischenübernachtung von unserer Englandreise. Gepflegtes Mehrfamilienhaus mit Aufzug, ca. 10 Min. zu Fuß zum Strand. Wohnung war sauber und gemütlich, tolle Dachterrasse.

Die Schlafzimmer sind sehr klein, Bettwäsche mußte extra bezahlt werden und die Betten mußte man selber beziehen. Bei nur einer Übernachtung etwas umständlich. Keine Parkplätze in der Nähe, in der Hauptsaison schwierig, etwas zu finden.

Warm binnen.ramen opengezet maar er was geen vliegenraam.en geen licht in badkamer.dit waren de 2 minpuntjes voor de rest was er alles en dik in orde. We komen zeker terug!!

4.95 out of 5. Rina is a great host. Usually replied within an hour or so, helped a lot with small things in the apartment. It’s a great place for a small family of 2 or may be 3. Terrance is superior if there is no rain outside. Description is very accurate and you get what’s on the pics. Perhaps a dining table could be lower such that no bar stools are needed, but the space is scarce. Not much can be done in the bedrooms but sleeping. Mattresses are not soft at all. The stationary bed has a mattress that is between firm and extra firm, Murphy bed has a bit softer mattress but sill sufficiently firm. Kitchen is equipped well enough but not overly stuffed. The main inconvenience is that the oven/microwave/toaster combined unit has its menu in Dutch so if you don’t understand the language trails and errors is your way. Bathroom is fine. If you keep all windows and the terrace door open, a nice breeze is very pleasant. Location is ok it’s just 10 min walk to the beach and train station, 5 min to groceries supermarket, shopping street, restaurants. Very nice little cafe just downstairs but it opens at 9 and is closed on Sundays and mondays. We’ll absolutely consider Helena Penthouse if come to Ostend again.

Two small inconveniences. First if you want a bedding set it’s 15 euro per a bed. Would be ok, but the sheets were just another mattress protecting layer which is synthetic and not well breathable. Certainly worth to be replaced by a cotton cover if you don’t have an option to bring your own bedding. Another thing is that our neighbors turned out to be smokers so you would inhale cigarettes and cigars smoke from time to time as we did but it’s out of control of the host to be frank.
