Palirroia (High Tide)

The house is in a very nice village closed to a taverna very friendly where you can eat fantastic food. The house is magic in a location for travelers that like to be isolated from touristic places and enjoy the real Milos and the people in the village are amazing! You can see sunrise from your bad. The sound of the sea and watching stars all around the house. A really superb experience! In the house the owner left all kind of food (for breakfast and for cooking, even the wine). The hospitality is excellent! I really suggest this location because you will leave crying for the emotion this place will give you!

This is an amazing place! We have never ever imagined to have such a relaxing holiday. The place, which is a transformed boat house - is on the west side of Milos, the side which is practically uninhabited. It is about 25 minutes driving from the port with the last 2-3 km of a mountain road (be prepared!) You certainly need a car for your stay here as all stores, supermarkets and other joys of civilisation (crowds of tourists, noisy bars, dancing clubs, packed beaches, etc.) are far from that place. If you look for those joys - don't choose this house. You will be disappointed! Here you live authentic greek experience - surrounded by the sea, smelling salty breeze in the morning, listening to the Meltemi breath when it blows, admiring at night gorgeous starry skies and the moonlight reflected in the water. You will enjoy your privacy- swimming in the small bay in front of the house (with no waves!) whenever you want - at midnight or at 5 in the morning. The two bedrooms on the 1st floor are accessible by a steep staircase (like in a yacht). The house is perfect for a family of 3-4 ( with one or two teenagers) which was our case. The decoration is beautiful and authentic. It is also very clean and tidy! Driving to the northern or southern beaches takes about 30-40 minutes but you have also almost a private beach in a ~10 minutes walking distance - where the water is always clean and quiet. There are several nice hiking routes starting nearby, so our program of a 6-day stay was intense. Taverne with authentic greek food (very good!) is just next door. The hosts are absolutely fantastic! Yannis met us in Adamas and escorted to the place. Kelly's English is almost perfect and she responded quickly on our sms. We got a bunch of delicious organic fruits in the middle of our stay. Very touching! Yannis also gave us many useful advice. Thanks to Yannis, we knew where to go and what beaches were good for swimming depending on the winds.

Driving daily on that last part of the road is a bit of an adventure. The place will be probably not convient for elderly non sportive persons (because of a steep staircase). Yet, it is a part of this amazing experience!
