Fabulous place to stay, extremely comfortable, relaxing, able to unwind and in touch with nature.
So much wildlife to see and hear an the bonus of the River Tone rushing through at the bottom of the garden. The host was excellent and we were given a walk through of all the utilities and fittings throughout.
We absolutely loved it.
There was nothing that needed changing, it was all good.

From the moment we turned into the drive we were confronted by a lovely red chicken foraging about. We parked up under the huge surrounding green trees and walked down to the lodge.
A large decked area directly outside surrounded the remains of the old watermill wall where there is a hive of activity consisting of various birds (we had the pleasure of seeing a kingfisher). Down by the stream which we paddled up and came across several trout.
On the 1st night whilst we sat down at the lovely sturdy table having prepared dinner on the open fire pit we witnessed ascoss the stream (stream actually divides Devon/Somerset) a wild deer.
Then to the lodge its self which is an actual real log cabin made from whole trees. All hand made by one very talented local man to form a very sturdy log cabin like you would see in Canada.
The cabin has everything you need and although the weather for us was actually sunny it actually would of been nice for a little rain so we could hear it patter down on the cabin and trees. There is a log burner too which I can only imagine makes it a really cosy place on those colder nights.
We had the benefit of a c130 flying over on training along with a military helicopter which both went as fast as they came, and only seemed a few hundred feet above the tree tops. (Apparently it's a military aircraft training route, so free airshows if your lucky)
Under the star filled night sky you will see the bats flying about too from the local bat cave next door to the lodge which you can explore if you dare.
So much more I could write but if your looking for a nice cosy getaway this is the place to be. No TV, no WiFi, barely any signal, no road noise, no nothing other than piece and tranquility and nature doing what it does best.
Highly recommended and after reading the guest books it looks although people just keep coming back and you will understand why when you've been.

Beautiful, peaceful location. Steps to River Tone, which is a safe (with supervision) paddle and play spot for children.
Nothing to dislike!
