Would not sleep in a cold room again
Unique experience, very cool (no pun intended) hotel
Had a terrible sleep in the cold room. The provided sleeping bag is simply not warm enough, and you have to sleep like a mummy. Would suggest visiting the hotel but not sleeping there.

Perfect winter wonderland

Too cold in the rooms, especially in the bathroom.

Miserable stay in room but managed to rise above the disappointment with no thanks to staff other than a belated apology
Faulty heating in as located room with no fixing being achieved other than a small heater supplied too late to be of any use every room had the problem but no offer to make it up to us

Amazing Expirenece
The Ice Hotel is an exceptional experience—beautifully built and located just 15–20 minutes from Kiruna central. They provide their own transport, and it’s easy to book activities directly with them. However, if you plan to travel to Kiruna central on your own, be aware that the taxi service there is limited. With only one provider, taxis are often fully booked during peak times.
The taxi service across Kiruna is quite poor, as there is only one provider with a monopoly. They charge a flag‑down rate of 650 SEK, which is approximately 60 EUR.

IceHotel a vanity visit
The friendly staff. The restaurant food was delicious. The IceBar was a lot of fun and great drinks. The lounge was also pretty awesome. The facilities were definitely amazing.
They do not accept cash!!!! And they all assume that you know that Sweden is a cashless country. Also, getting to the cold room for the night is also not very thought out logistically. The warm rooms are also set to a fix temperature and there is no place for you to dry your wet clothes.

Would love to come back! Enjoyed our stay here.
I wish the hotel had buggies to drop off lights with no extra charge. It was challenging to transport four suitcases all the way to the end of the property to our room.
Great property, lovely facilities, amazing breakfast and hospitable staff.

The Ice Hotel is an experience, but i felt like i paid for a 4 or 5 star hotel, and got a 2 or 3
Stayed both in the warm rooms and cold rooms, the following review is regarding the warm room; the rooms are standard, i was honsestly expecting a little bit more luxory/comfort due to the cost of the night. We stayed 2 nights in the warm room + 1 night in the cold room. i do not regret it, but the price, particularly of the warm room, does not justify.
Some staff were actually not nice, one person I felt was actually racist. after breakfast, I realised i forgot my key in the room and went to the reception to request a new room, she looked at me and in a despective way asked me for an ID, after explaining i left my wallet in the room she answered "there is no way i can give you a card without your ID", i asked her if I give her my full name, email address, phone number, etc. could be enough "proof" that i did the reservation, she seemed 'bothered'. The attitude of the staff (her and few others) were not nice

the Ice Hotel is an experience and rooms are art, however the hotel falls short to it's name
Stayed both in the warm rooms and cold rooms, the following review is of the cold room: I stayed in the cold room, 'deluxe' suite (with bathroom). If you can afford it, it makes a huge difference staying in the deluxe room, it has a private large bathroom with bath tub and sauna, as well as a door to the back of the rooms, which helps when there are Auroras! Normal rooms have no bathrooms, you need to leave your luggage in changing rooms outsiide the room area, which can be impractical. Rooms are also open to the public from 11am - 5pm, which means you cannot really use the rooms that time (you can be in the bathroom area of the deluxe room though!)
I booked a deluxe room, when we checked in, the receptionist said to us "you've been upgraded to a deluxe room, congratulations!" however, this is the room I paid for, i did not get any upgrade, this caused an unconfortable moment as my partner thoguht we had gotten upgraded, which was not the case, I paid for that room, I experience several micro-racism while staying in the hotel (being asked for an ID, etc.)

Phenomenal start to our European holiday!!! Exceptional
Full breakfast, hot and cold, good variety. Amazing freshly baked bread and pastries by in house . pastry chef. We stayed in both the arctic cabin and the specially carved rooms. The artic cabin room was warm, modern, cosy and well equipped, they even turned on the snow for us.
It was so picturesque and movie like. I was blown away. Highly recommend the experience.
I cannot ask for anything more. They have temporarily storage for luggage as needed if the room or your transfer is not ready yet and two lovely warm lounge area to relax in.

Phenomenal must do experience.
Beautifully well lit winter wonderland. Exceptionally beautiful. The Arctic cabin was modern. Bathroom and kitchen appeared new and beautiful. The smell if the camphor/pine? wood doors was warming and a lovely touch. Transfer from train easy to find and after a delayed flight we missed out plane transfer but they arranged a late pick up no problem.
Nothing. We are still pinching ourselves we are here in such a beautiful place at such a beautiful time. No wind a light shower of rain and so much snow fun. My children wouldn’t leave the snow and played longer outside than they normally would!!

Perfect location to see the northern lights
Excellent customer service in the front desk and also in the restaurant
Good breakfast. Comfortable, clean and spacious room
The part of the ice hotel make in glass has beautiful sculptures
this is perfect location to see the northern lights but nothing to do during the day at the hotel and Kirona is 12 kms far. I suggest to rent a car that is cheaper that a taxi and give you the freedom to moving around

Fantastic as Always
We’re huge fans of this hotel. Over the past year, we’ve stayed three times and have experienced every type of room they offer. For adventure lovers, it’s simply fantastic. This time, we came especially for river rafting and gravel biking to enjoy Kiruna’s summer. Compared to the winter season, the atmosphere was much quieter, with a completely different vibe. It almost feels like you have the entire hotel to yourself—which is incredible.
When it comes to the rooms, if you’re mainly there for the tours, any option will do. But if you’ve never stayed in an ice room, it’s an absolute must. Since we had already tried both the Deluxe and Art Suites before, this time we opted for a warm room(kamoos hotel room) , which worked perfectly. Before we stayed in a kamoos deluxe warm room and comparing to that, only significant difference was the comfiness of the bed. Pillows and mattress could be better. Also there was no mini fridge. Again, since we were out all day long for tours, -except the mattress- those didnt matter to us.
Breakfast, as always, was fantastic. They’ve even added vegan bread—kudos to the chef, it was excellent. The dinner menu was the same as in winter: pricey, but absolutely delicious.
Staff is amazing as always, we seen some familiar faces from our previous stays. Mostly they are working seasonal i guess but all of them are sharing the same passion.
Overall, it’s a wonderful place both in winter and summer, but in my opinion, the real highlight is the tours. They are the perfect way to discover the North, immerse yourself in the culture, and experience the wilderness. So far, every guide we’ve had has been outstanding. I believe if we join few more tours, they will convince us to move to Kiruna :)
In negative side, the reservation/sales channels are not working super efficient. It should be easier to book tours. For example we have waited whole summer for an opening for rafting tour which we thought that it was simply sold out. We found the only available day in August and booked it. During the check in, we also confirmed that they see our rafting reservation in their system however the day of the activity, they said that they cant see our names for the tour. Also we learned that rafting tours were available it was just not shown in the website somehow. We could easly come few more times for rafting. Anyways this is just system. They fixed the problem in a very professional way and they arranged everything including the lunch etc before the start of the tour so we were able to join. Succesful last minute operation, thanks to the crew and guides.

Family trip to Jukkasjärvi
Rooms were clean and revovated
The rooms were quite spread out across the property, which was a bit inconvenient since we needed several. Parking was not allowed directly next to the rooms. The à la carte restaurant was overpriced, and the food was just average. There wasn’t much to do during the summer season.

Overall it was a pleasant and relaxing stay and we will definitely go back.
The uniqueness of the hotel. Quality of the food. Friendly staff. Closeness to the attractions. It is far from the city and airport and you get the feeling that you’re stuck there, but you have some entertainment around which are honestly more options than what you can do in the city.
The amenities in the rooms are way too minimal for a hotel in this price range. And I didn’t like the fact that we had to walk on ice every time that we wanted to get to our room or get out of it. I know it’s ice hotel, but it was too hazardous and it was not even nice ice, mostly snow that was frozen over time! We could have easily slipped and ruined the rest of our trip! They could clean up a narrow path to the doors of each chalet. It shouldn’t be that hard.

Wonderful place to stay near Kiruna
The warm rooms were very spacious and comfortable, the food in the restaurant is very good. Breakfast was good as well. Very nice staff. And of course, the ice hotel exhibit is gorgeous.

Enjoyable stay
I really liked the surroundings, the room itself and the restaurants, the design and details like ice figures around. The whole place is cozy and pleasant to spend time in. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
We booked a warm room since we don't enjoy cold so much, but you are allowed to visit the ice rooms of the hotel during the day, so that was quite enough for us to get all the good parts of this experience. They have an ice bar on the territory, which is also fun, and you can slide right from the ice tables there.
The hotel is located in front of a river which is completely frozen, you can go and watch the aurora right there without any sognificant light pollution, really no need to go anywhere else for this and we've got some magical pictures from there.
We enjoyed the sauna which is also included in your stay and is well equipped.
There is an adventure center where you can book some activities.
The roads were slippery around the houses covered with bumpy ice, it was superinconvenient to walk, they made a path sprinkled with stones on the third day of our stay, though, but you kinda expect that the roads are taken a better care of in such a place.
There was a broken sledge stuck in a pile of snow the whole time and looked like noone looked after the territory condition around the houses.
Ice menu: interesting but not worth it at all. Had way better for a lower price.
Sauna experience that is booked separately is overpriced if you are not a company of 5-6 people, could use some shared options.

Cozy and Unique Stay at the Icehotel – A Must-Do Arctic Experience!
Staying at the Icehotel in Sweden was a fantastic experience! The beautifully crafted ice rooms and stunning sculptures created a magical atmosphere. We stayed in the warm part of the Icehotel in a cozy cabin lodge, and it was a fantastic experience! The lodge was perfectly clean, beautifully designed, and provided a warm and comfortable retreat after exploring the icy surroundings. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the location was ideal for enjoying all the amazing activities like dog sledding, snowmobiling, and ice sculpting. A must-do experience for anyone visiting the Arctic. Highly recommended!

Magical !
The location on the river banks is gorgeous!
My husband and I took a warm chalet which was cosy, clean and very restful
Our daughters stayed in an ice room, which they just loved. They give you all you need to stay warm in the ice rooms, head cover, warm sleeping bags, boots and even a case for your mobile 😃
We tried out champagne and cocktails at the ice bar, and that was a super experience drinking out of ice carved glasses
Lovely breakfast, and we opted for dinner at their restaurant down the road by the river. It was lovely service and lovely food
Must also mention the friendliness of the reception staff. Always served with a smile.
A memorable experience overall!

Beautiful location, unfriendly staff, bad food. Extremely expensive!
Beautiful location. Amazing art!
Horrible breakfast (cheese was ruined), bad eggs, staff was unfriendly (except bartender- he was awesome and the waitress at the home stead). I also discovered the price booking directly would have been much cheaper than booking.com so I was disappointed.

A great overall experience and value, would highly recommend
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in a warm room (Kamoos) of Icehotel. The room was very spacious, cozy, nicely designed, decorated and lighted with typical Scandinavian styles which we liked. It had comfy beds, lots of storage spaces, roomy and nice bathroom with good quality amenities. Lovely view from the corner windows of our room where we could see trees covered with snow (early April) All hotel guests were free to roam around the cold rooms and all facilities such as the bar, exhibition, etc. which was an experience in itself. We also loved the breakfast which was at the hotel restaurant across the street. The buffet menu was superb, all you can eat cold and hot food including a lot of healthy options. There were many adventure activities offered at the Adventure Center. The 1,5 hour dogsledding tour we took was fun and of good value. We also enjoyed walking to the nearby frozen river and around the hotel complex. As temperature could get quite cold, as said it its website, we could borrow overall warm clothing and boots from the reception which was also provided for activities at the hotel. We took a train from Stockholm to Kiruna and then a bus to the hotel. Going back we asked the hotel staff to book a taxi for us.
All hotel staff was friendly and provided great services except a few with no smile and lack of courtesy, perhaps because they were new and had not had enough training yet.
One hiccup was more to do with booking.com rather than Icehotel. Booking.com did give us the choices of payment due date close to our stay or immediate payment 3-4 months prior. They did send us email reminder which we failed to notice. A few days before our stay we found out that booking.com had cancelled our booking. We then had to rebook again at a much higher price. I thought and wished booking.com could just have debit the credit card we provided rather than cancelling the booking. We were lucky rooms were still available.

Could've been so much better
Great breakfast
Good warm room
Lack of off season activities eg bikes not avail till June, no walking groups, no skidoos, no onsite restaurant. Your nearest restaurant 1 km walk at night in sub zero temperature, no shuttle service. No shuttle into Kiruna (taxi 520 sek). Staff gave us an out of date bus timetable showing weekend service - there were no buses running.
Sleeping bags too big and poorly fitted.
Staff did their best but clearly not properly trained .
All of these things are easily fixable and could increase your off season patronage.
