About this cabin rental
R & R River Retreat is a beautiful 3 bedroom 3 bath 3 story full log home right on the Coosawattee River and offers: wood burning fireplace, TV's with access to Hulu+ Live TV and Roku for streaming. (DOES NOT HAVE DISHTV) hot tub, sauna, fire-pit, pool table, screened porch, deer feeders, WIFI and indoor sauna. As one of Sliding Rock Cabin's pet friendly properties - there are no pet fees and has a FENCED YARD.
The Main floor has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath. 1 bedroom has a king bed and TV, and the other has a queen bedroom with DVD player that is BluRay and WIFI compatible (no cable).
Upstairs master suite has a pillow top king bed, TV, bathroom and private porch & Keurig coffee maker.
The patio level has the third full bathroom, game room with pool table and TV with DVD player that is BluRay and WIFI compatible.

Hike the Ellijay and Blue Ridge mountain trails, try your hand at fly fishing, then in the evening watch the river flow by, or cuddle up next to the fireplace and watch an old movie on your large screen TV. Maybe sleep in late on the King Size upstairs master bed and have coffee on your private covered porch. R & R River Retreat is a perfect getaway for up to six people. We encourage you to protect your vacation investment with a travel insurance of your choice.
Coosawattee River Resort charges a $59 gate fee for all reservations.
As of July 1, 2026. Daily guest passes may be purchased at any pool or at the CRRA recreation center for $5.00 per person, per day. Children under the age of 6 will continue to be admitted free of charge.
Coosawattee River Resort offers for free: 5 river parks for fishing with no license needed, a petting barn, suspension bridge and a fenced dog park. Both the bridge and fenced dog park are within walking distance of R & R.
Coosawattee River Resort has implemented fines for certain behaviors while occupying the cabin. These fees will be charged to the guest, and guests agree to paying these fines via security deposit or authorizing a credit card charge:
- Reckless Endangerment, trash, littering; $150
-Noise complaints: $250 and above
-Discharge of Firearms & unattended fires $500
Near the resort is: Coosawattee Tubing Company and Noah's Ark Animal Rescue.
The town of Ellijay offers: Walmart, Ingies, many restaurants, Abby's Ice Cream parlor and a new theatre. Also in Gilmer county are many wineries.
CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING/NO SHOW/EARLY DEPARTURE: Each cabin is privately owned and cancellations affect owners significantly. Cancellations, rescheduling, or changes must be submitted in writing and confirmed received by Sliding Rock CabinsÂŽ more than thirty-one (31) days prior to the original check-in date in order to receive refund, less a Sixty Five Dollar ($65) cancellation fee. Said changes regardless of reason made within thirty-one (31) days of your original check-in date will result in a forfeiture of all moneys paid. All moneys paid are non-transferable to another rescheduled date. Refunds will be given if Agent can re-book said dates with another guest limited to the extent of rebooking. Agents are not responsible for Guests inability to arrive or if Guests chooses to depart early for any reason, or if members of Guests party do not show up. No refunds, rebates, or compensation will be offered. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST PURCHASING VACATION RENTAL INSURANCE with your travel insurance of choice. Overall, this was a great cabin. It is beautiful and so peaceful. Deer are everywhere and they will let you feed them corn from just 1-2 feet away. Everything was clean, the hot tub, sauna, everything, which isnât always the case at others we have stayed. This cabin had everything for the dogs and they had the best time! We were able to access the river like we thought we would be able to, the embankment is too high to fish or swim directly behind the cabin. Also, there was a burn ban our entire stay, so were unable to use the fire pit.

We absolutely loved our stay. The cabin is very well appointed and has everything you could possible need. The driveway is a little scary at first, but after going up and down it a couple of times itâs fine. The scenery is amazing, we had a bunch of deer come by to nibble on feed bought for them. The fishing was ok, my son caught one bass (I think) and was happy. We wound up not bringing our pup, but I would rate this 5-star in terms of being dog-friendly. The entire bottom deck is gated and the gated area for bathroom-time is more than sufficient for a dog to do its business. We loved it and would love to return!

We had a very nice stay here. It was what we expected for rest and relaxation. The beds were comfortable. We built a campfire at the firepit and made smores. We built a fire in the fireplace. The kitchen was stocked with Kerig,coffee pot, crockpot,kitchen scissors and panini maker. The only thing missing was a can opener. There was a nice screened in porch to sit and look down at the river (which has a few rapids just not time of year to be in the water). We saw 4 deer walk right up one morning and one night a buck on the property. There are crows and squirrels also. I would stay here again. đ

We originally booked this cabin because it was advertised as being on the river. Based on that, we assumed it would be more easily accessible and not located high up in the mountainsâbut that wasnât the case. The cabin is about a 15-minute drive up winding mountain roads, which can be pretty nerve-wracking if youâre not used to that type of driving. There are no guardrails and little to no room for error, which made coming and going stressful.The road directly leading to the cabin was another challenge. The listing described it as âmoderately steep,â but that felt like an understatement. Itâs significantly steeper than expected and may be difficult for some vehicles or drivers.One thing to note is that you donât receive the exact address or directions until about 10 days prior to your stay, so by then youâre already committed.On the positive side, the rental company was very communicative and easy to work with, which we appreciated.As for the cabin itself, the rooms were smaller than anticipated. The bottom floor stayed very cold and we werenât able to get it to a comfortable temperature during our stay. Additionally, the shower on the lower level requires a bit of a step up to get intoâsomething to be aware ofâand the water pressure overall was fairly weak.Overall, the cabin just wasnât the right fit for us. The stress of getting to and from the property ended up taking away from the relaxing vacation experience we were hoping for.
