Helvetia house was a welcome respite. The house itself was well appointed and laid out, with plenty of space inside and out for lounging, meals, and games. The paddle board and kayaks were a nice touch, and the dock was excellent. The neighbors are very nice and we had a few chats over the fence. You are literally right next to the boat launch, which is convenient if you have a boat.
It’s an easy walk to a cool taproom, a winery, and a great bar/restaurant. Otherwise you’re 10-15 mins from Penn Yan or Hammondsport, both of which were easy to get to. And you’re a short trip from Olney Place, which is a lifesaver for supplies and breakfast sandwiches.
The only downside was that the house was dirty on arrival. Dirt on the floors and dog hairs embedded in all the carpets and the couch. We spent an hour vacuuming upon arrival to get it to a level of cleanliness we had expected.
