Stay SAKURA Kyoto SUZAKU OJI

Nos quedamos un par de noches acá y pudimos desde ahí recorrer todos los puntos turísticos de Kyoto en bus, el hotel e impecable y el baño es una maravilla

The room is very well-equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was not spacious but big enough and spotless, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Perfect place for a relaxing getaway. Downstairs you get a free coffee/tea daily. quite and close to the train and market is just around the corner.

The first floor has a laundry facility. I resided on the first floor, diagnoal from the laundry room, a good distance away. The door to my room did not seal shut, so fumes from the laundry room escaped into my room. At night, if you stand by the door, you can feel and hear the draft, like a gentle howl from a Studio Ghibli movie. My first evening in the room, the strong smell of laundry creeped in. It was around 10. Instead of alerting staff, I hoped it was a one off and went back to sleep. However, around 8/9 pm the second evening, it happended again. It was unbareable so I alerted the staff. After much back and forth I was told that I would not be able to change my room. I informed the staff that I could not continue to stay. Due to the Expo, hotels in the area were already at full occupency. I stayed the evening but informed the staff that I would have to return to Tokyo and requested a refund for my final night. Following this conversation, I booked a new hotel, luggage pick-up and train ticket back to Tokyo. The next morning the manager arrived, inspected the room and advised that they could relocate me to another room. I explained that I was told the exact opposite the night before which led me to make alternative accomodations and leave Kyoto a day earlier than planned. Ultimately, the hotel refused to refund me for that day and only refunded the additional sales tax that is charged at the hotel. Overall, my stay turned out to be quite stressful. If you choose to stay here, you should ask to not be placed on the first floor.

We travelled with the kids from Osaka to Kyoto and we finally reached this hotel that we booked and looked forward to check in and let the kids rest, shower etc. At check in, the frontdesk mentioned that the occupancy for the room had exceeded so there's no availability for a bigger room hence we were rejected from staying we booked for 2 adults 1 child 6yo. Child 3yo we assumed were free as 0-3yrs typically were free stay. We always sleep on the same bed because the two kids are young 6 & 3, no extra beds were needed They offered us another stay sakura hotel which had a room but we kindly rejected due to personal reasons. After the front desk told us we needed to seek accommodation elsewhere and this booking would be cancelled and out of goodwill, a cancellation wavier & refund would be given. After which we accepted as he said they would waive & refund. Later on his boss said no waiver, they will charge full price which was upsetting because they said they were waiving & refunding it, a 3 nights stay. They provided us a transport to the other hotel which we managed to book and was fuss free & affordable ar Ori hotel. After which we could finally check in & rest.
